— Gabriel Malor So a terrorist attacks a passenger plane on Christmas Day. Excuse me, he "allegedly" attacks a passenger plane on Christmas Day. The President then waits three days to give a statement in which he calls the terrorist an "isolated extremist." The actively engaged (but vacationing) President is apparently ignorant that the isolated extremist was an Al Qaeda operative and that a search is being conducted to find one and possibly two accomplices.
Just to clear things up: yes, he's phoning it in. Yes, he'd prefer if you'd just shut the hell up and let him finish his golf game.

Another Slublog Original.

It strikes me that his apathy is that of one who is clearly overwhelmed by the task at hand - that instead of dealing with what he's got, he's avoiding and shutting down. Incompetent, blithering, blundering blockhead. He wanted to be President, only he didn't actually want to have to do any actual work. The title, the perks, the adulation, oh yes. Govern? Lead? Make decisions? Get things done? Represent our national interests? That's too haaaaaaaaaaaard.
Good God, someone please start the wheels in motion to impeach this imbecile.

WASHINGTON – Two federal agencies charged with keeping potential terrorists off airplanes and out of the country have been without their top leaders for nearly a year.
It took the Obama administration more than eight months to nominate anyone to lead the Transportation Security Administration and the Customs and Border Protection agency.
Bogged down with health care reform, the Senate has yet to set a date to hold hearings for the Customs position. And Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., has placed a hold on the president's choice to head the TSA over the senator's concern that the new leader would let TSA screeners join a labor union. This has some Democrats blaming politics for the vacancy.
Barry is too tired to fill this positions! Can't he just finish his golf game? Or is he playing tennis today?
McDonough downplayed the significance of not having the new TSA administrator confirmed, although he said "the president is eager to have his TSA head on the job."
Head? Job? What?

From the NRO link, the reader's email:
About the president's use of "allegedly." like the president is some US Attorney talking about some chicago politician being indicted for corruption. And how many times in his address did the president call the guy a "suspect" - like they just arrested him for breaking into someone's house - rather than calling him a "terrorist". The whole tone of his remarks today was shocking in its clinical legalism.
The thing is...he's not just "clinical", he's wrong. Not an isolated case. He's going for clinical, for some reason I can't grasp, and he still fails to get it right.

I think that points to the heart of his dilemma. He is beholden to such a large and varied group of special interests that he can no longer do ANYTHING without offending at least some of them, and that has effectively paralyzed him.
Of course the simplest thing for him to do would be to just do his job and act in the best interest of the country, but I don't think that possibility has occurred to him.

Also, another commenter pointed out that Oblahma stopped playing golf instantly when he was told that a child in his vacation party might need stitches, but did not register any emotion when told about the "alledged" incident on Christmas day.

Barry and his handlers will do everything they have to, including eviserating someone's career, to keep this mountain of embarassment off of the one. They have got to stop the bleeding that is continuing to clearly show that Obama and most of his appointees are abjectly incompetent. If it continues, if it continues to get worse, a major emergency will finish his presidency, imo.

Bingo; this is why voting "Present" worked so fucking well for him (up to the Presidency; you can't get better than that) because the donk party is so full of obvious fissures among interest groups that any decision is gonna piss at least one of them off. So he found the path of no resistance. Unfortunately for an executive that's not so good which is why anybody from the Senate (yes that means you, McVain) should be prohibited from running for the Presidency.

I've long held the opinion that we don't even need to have the dogs trained to sniff out explosives or whatever. We just need to have a LOT of them. Post them with their handlers at "pinch points" throughout airports, train stations, etc. and WATCH THE REACTION OF THE PASSING PEOPLE. Cull out those who show disgust or aggression towards the dogs for further screening.
I'm pretty sure that will catch a lot more jihadis than giving randomly selected little old ladies rectal exams....

SAN'A, Yemen – Yemen's government said Tuesday the U.S. should have shared its warnings about the Nigerian suspect in the botched Christmas Day airline attack, and said it was tightening restrictions on student visas like the one that allowed the young man to enter the country.
Al-Lozy said that the U.S. never shared its suspicions about Abdulmutallab with Yemen, a largely lawless country that has turned into a key stronghold for al-Qaida.
"We didn't get any notice from the Americans to put this man on a list," al-Lozy said. "America should have told Yemen about this man, as they have of others."

Jimmy Carter was never the “worst” President if you define that as the one who did the greatest lasting harm to the country. He was the most incompetent though which prevented him from being in the running for the worst. .
Il Douche is not the most incompetent but he is definitely in the running for the “worst” president. I no longer put down his crap to incompetence. I lay it to intentional destruction of the country.
Assuming he succeeds in nationalizing healthcare AND he gets some kind of crap and tax through he will then have easily surpassed LBJ for worst and could possible catch up to FDR.

Perhaps if more of the MUSLIM community who claim these guys are extremists would rally against them, there would be some credibility to the argument that profiling is not effective. However, since they all remain quiet, they confirm the truth.....these are actually MAINSTREAM Muslims doing what they Koran tells them to do and the rest of the "church" is fine with it. After all, they are not infidels so they are safe!
I've always said that the first time most Westerners really thought about the Muslims in their midst was after the 2001 attacks, and the Western Muslim reaction. And that reaction was horribly weak. Impossible not to notice that. After a quick "We condemn terrorism," they marshalled all their energies to hyping alleged anti-Muslim bias.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claimed responsibility for the attempt, according to IntelCenter, an Alexandria, Virginia-based group that monitors terrorist organizations. IntelCenter said in an e-mail that the organizationÂ’s written claim included a photo of Abdulmutallab.
National Security Council chief of staff Denis McDonough told reporters yesterday that the administration does not have a “verification of that.”
It doesn't? Oh yes, he's just an "isolated extremist". No matter how much proof to the contrary.

Some guest of Fox mentioned this and pooh-poohed it as obviously false. I guess his thinking was al Qaeda couldn't build the bomb, train the bomber, etc. in the short time between the US attacks and Christmas.Which is totally stupid.
I'm sure they have plenty of people trained beforehand and their leaders are always looking and waiting for any reason for retaliation.

That saying about journalism, that even though you've noticed that every story you know first hand (or subject you're an expert in) is reported totally wrong, you believe the stories you don't know anything about—Obama sort of works like that.
It was his talking about things I know well—Niebuhr and basketball, especially—that showed me he was an ignorant bluffer. So it kills me when someone mocks him with a "But he can quote Niebuhr to the terrorists," or "But he can school Bin Laden down at the Rucker," because he can't do that either.
He doesn't even know how to play a lawyer right—and he is one. Yet he only seems like one if you don't really pay attention to what he says when he's acting the part. That's why he didn't do anything at the Law Review, why he didn't try any name cases, etc. He can't.
There is no competent Obama. He doesn't even know Alinsky. (I do, and trust me, he doesn't, even though he taught Alinksy for Chicago ACORN.) There are only imaginary competent Obamas in others' minds.
He's got nothin'. Not even evil shit. Just nothing.
It's...amazing.

He is not a leader, he is not intelligent, he does not delegate well, he does not associate with capable people with principles and character. The funny part is that Obama loves Capitalism for himself. He drove a Chrysler 300, he got a MANSION in a corrupt deal from Tony Rezko. He loves to fly, drink, golf and play. He thinks everyone should share in the Communist sense, yet he himself has NEVER GIVEN JACK SQUAT to anyone else.

December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order “Amending Executive Order 12425.” It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other “International Organizations” as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.
By removing language from President Reagan’s 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates – now operates – on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

Are you a total retard? Iraq was at war with us and presented a huge threat that everyone understood (which is why your pathetic dem buddies had to spend the next years explaining why most of them had voted for a war that everyone knew had to be done). Of course, fools like you don't consider having cease fires broken or our planes shot at acts of war. You people are the intellectual slime of the world. The minute that Saddam Hussein intentionally dumped 40,000,000 barrels of oil into the gulf and lit just about every Kuwaiti oil well on fire, it was clear to anyone with a brain that his regime could not remain in control of one of the most sensitive and strategic areas of the world. Period. Only idiots like you didn't understand that. It's funny how the left screamed bloody murder about the Valdez spill (which was totallyt unintentional - as Exxon preferred to get the oil to market and make money with it) but you folks had not a word to say about Saddam's intentional rape of the Earth while we were allowing him to retreat in one of the most humiliating defeats in all of human history. You people are funny that way - stupid funny.
Further, the amount of WMD gotten from the Iraq war was IMMENSE and of utmost importance! It was only because the Iraq invasion scared the living shit out of the arab world that Libya puked up its whole nuke program, which opened up the AQ Khan network to us (which represented the REAL WMDs) and allowed us to put it out of business.
Further, Iraq has ceased to be a factor in anything else that is going on in the middle east (sort of like Egypt was for a decade after it signed the peace treaty with Israel).
Get a brain, man.
