We're helping friends who have an Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday.
Rick Perry is an Eagle Scout.
If someone else is picking up the tab, hit the Peninsula Grill.
Also, for great food and a view on the harbor, go to Fleet Landing.
I don't think there's a bad place to eat in the city.
(And if you get a shot of Perry holding a pudding cup, I'll hit the tip jar with $100.)

I'll be in Downtown Charleston, Friday night (Scott, Demint, Haley speaking) and on Saturday (Perry of course).
If anyone else is going or will be down there, hit me up on the yahoo group. Wouldn't mind meeting a few Moe Rons, amongst all those Red Staters.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet the Head Moe Ron himself.
I do like Perry's balls. The decision to announce on the day of the straw poll is a solid one, but also shows balls, and a cut throat mentality, which we really need in 2012. Someone who won't be bullied.

Jimi,
I cannot fathom why you are so locked onto such a flawed
candidate to the exclusion of even informing yourself about other,
clearly viable, candidates.
"Perry spent his first six years in politics as a Democrat, in a
somewhat forgotten history that is sure to be revived and scrutinized by
Republican opponents if he decides to run for president.
A raging liberal he was not. Elected to represent a slice of rural West Texas in the state House of Representatives in 1984, Perry, a young rancher and cotton farmer, gained an early reputation as a fiscal conservative. He was one of a handful of freshman “pit bulls,” so named because they sat in the lower pit of the House Appropriations Committee, where they fought to keep spending low."

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote Pasco pasture
when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of
dust.
The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan
sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy,
"If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd,
will you give me a calf?"
Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully
grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, Why not?"
The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer,
connects it to his iPhone phone, surfs to a NASA page on the Internet,
where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location
which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an
ultra-high-resolution photo.
The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and
exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany.
Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image
has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL
database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet
with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a
response.
Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech,
miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You
have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."
"Well that's the right number. I guess you can take one of my
critters," says Bud.
He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with
amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.
Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what
your business is, will you give me back my calf?"
The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why
not?"
"You're an aide in the Obama Administration", says Bud.
"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"
"No guessing required." answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even
though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already
knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth
of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and
you don't know a thing about how working people make a living - or
about cows, for that matter.
This is a herd of sheep. Now give me back my dog.

Y-Not,
I am not questioning whether or not Perry is a viable candidate. He is better than Obama. I am thinking long term and what the consequences are of a Perry nomination.
I have legitimate concerns on whether Perry can win...it does not mean that I don't want him to win. I just happend to believe that the country we live in today Perry is going to have a tough go of it, and I think Romney has the advantage.....mainly because he will attrack more moderate Democrats and Independents.
I think that Perry will have a strong Republican and Conservative base, but that doesn't accomplish much, he is going to get that anyway and that doesn't mean he can win.
Many here are refusing to see the connection between the optics of a Perry Administration to that of GW Bush...and I disagree...It is going to be a factor.
Just the same as the optics for Romney being a Mormon, and being part of MassCare. In a media driven country like we have today it will come down to four things:
1.) Who wins the Hair War
2.) Who wins the Media war
3.) Who has less skeletons in the closest
4.) Who has a developed plan to repeal ObamaCare, and create jobs and be able to explain it to the American People without any major Gaffs.
I think Perry is going to have a tough go of it! That.Is.All!

According to the new Washington Post Poll which is a commie poll 70% of Americans think President Downgrade is a failure.
6. Thinking about the major problems facing the country, would you say Obama has made progress toward solving these problems, tried but failed to solve these problems, not addressed these problems, or has made these problems even worse?
Made Progress - 19
Tried but failed - 42
Not Addressed - 7
Made Problems Worse - 28
No Opinion - 4

3.) I bet Perry has fewer "skeletons" than Romney does.
4.) Bullshit claims of "I will issue waivers to everyone" is not a plan to repeal Obamacare. It step one into "modifying it into something that works" bullshit.
