I really liked it, but I like period dramas. Not a big revolutionary war buff, so I can't speak to the accuracy, but the characters seem interesting. A few are a bit one-dimensional, but I can live with that.

BTW - cause the first part of the dreadfull 1984 film "Alphabet City" on the tube today.
Notable only for the worst "hero car" I've ever seen in a movie -- a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am 25th Anniversary Daytona 500 Edition. Only 2500 of the cars were built, for damned good reason:

Plus AMC is doing a stellar job with their dramas lately, both in choosing and in nurturing them along. Unlike USA, which seems to be doing all it can to obliterate the "characters welcome" theme from its branding and show choices. Am bummed at how they've treated White Collar.

!!Warning!!
Do not insert your drill bit as shown in fig 8.
This could cause drill bit to be thrown from your drill causing serious personal injury
I guess the manufacturers have to put warnings like this on power tools...to try to idiot-proof them.
They even saw fit to include a Diagram.
Heh.
Makes me wonder how many guys out there have tried to run a drill with the bit crooked like that.
A drill bit in your eye would really ruin your day.

I have seen Roman concrete near Cologne, and it was, in Germanic parlance, beat to ever-loving shit. And no, it was not part of the Autobahn.
Find a rubble-laid wall from that period (usually rural or on a frontier -- they liked to dress the stone close in town, as the Greeks did) and you'll see above-average mortar. Not magic, but pretty good. That's the waterproof part.
Roman roads that don't use concrete are damned good. They understood drainage, and used smaller stones over larger ones, with fitted pavers over all. Even with that, they're a lot better where there is no frost. Watch your weight limits (not a problem for their traffic, except where wheels wore actual ruts into solid stone), and that road will last forever.
There are linked chains laid in the concrete of some of the "superior" domes. Now, those will prevent the broken pieces from falling on the crowd beneath, which is nice, but if some Roman engineer thought he was making that vault stronger that way, it's a truly miraculous principle. We're not smart enough. Yeah.

I'm going to be renting a car for the very first time at an upcoming vacation. When you do so... is it worth it to purchase a Damage Waiver or Personal Accident Insurance? And how much do they cost??
I imagine there's enough holes in those contracts that they're not much more than money pits, but want to hear from experts here. Thanks. :-)

I'm going to be renting a car for the very first time at an upcoming

or Personal Accident Insurance? And how much do they cost??
I imagine there's enough holes in those contracts that they're not

I was once touring a Lafarge state-of-the-art plant in Quebec. The foreman France-splained that there were four processes for making cement: wet, dry, semi-wet, and semi-dry. I was among scholars. One had to ask what the difference was. The answer? "Water."
Some will say that the superfine binder created an ionic bonding never accomplished before. Others hold that it was just more water-resistant.
Many references to "superior Roman concrete" actually are advertising for a product using that name patented in 1796.

sin (x+2pi)=sin x for the actual sine function. Unless the idea is that
f(x)=sin (mx+k) and you're supposed to solve for m and k first.
Of course the quickie way to find the answer is to note that 2pi is 3/4 of the period so the answer is 4/3 times 2pi = 8pi/3 (as cthulhu figured 500 comments ago)

In radians ----- zero, 2*pi, 4*pi, 6*pi, etc. are all exactly the same location -- because all it tells you is how many times you have swept the circumference of a unit circle.
So, how can there be 2 different values for the same exact point? Answer -- there can't be.
So the question is drawn to look like a very standard math convention -- but it is just a decoy -- this function is not a description of radians in any fashion --
Pretty cheezy bait and switch bullshit.

There are other concretes in the old, if not ancient, world (you can also argue through most nights on when "antiquity" ends). Miami, well old Miami, was all pink and pastel because the facades were copied from Arabic and eastern-Med cementations made of the local stone -- ground-up coral and seashell. It's really hard to figure what was holding that together. Perhaps even indelicate to guess.

If your systems are vulnerable to this and Internet-facing you must assume that the private keys involved in your SSL-enabled applications have been compromised and are no longer secret. This means that your site can be trivially spoofed and will appear to be legitimate to a client connecting to it even though it is not.

I meant regular old, franchise, famous-sign fast food, the kind they run stupid ads on TV for. Since we're all supposed to be diabetic in five more years, there's some real menu-option development available there. Hell, any genius can create exciting new fast food in a truck, with no zoning board, ingredient inspector, and personal-rights overlords looking over their shoulder.
I had lunch today at a new-in-1960 ice cream stand called "PeeWee's" on a national highway called The Old Mud Pike. They don't cook anything until you order it, so you might say they're proud of their slow service. Operated by the original owner (Pee Wee's widow), every damn day. It was perfect.

Well, I mind when me an' Old Charlie was 'elpin' to build the new barn up at the Crabtree, we was up on the roof fixin' in these 'ere rafters and crossties... to 'old 'em in, like. An archy-oligist came by what was diggin' over on the Diblock. 'E shouts up at me, "Oiy..." 'e sez, "you know what you done?" 'e sez...
An' I sez, "No sir!"
'E sez, " You made a triangle!" 'e sez.
I sez, "'Ave I?... I didn't know!"
An' 'e sez, "That's indestructable." 'e sez. "If anyone tries to catch you out..." 'e sez, "no matter who it is..." 'e sez, " say, any two sides of a triangle is, together, greater than the third... that'll 'ave 'em!" e sez. 'E reckoned that were unanswerable. 'E 'ad some students with 'im... young fellow, about forty five.
I mind when Mr. Buckmaster catched me taking a rabbit out of one of 'is snares... aah, red 'anded, he caught me. I 'ad to go up about it, too. T'owld magistrate sez to me, 'e sez, "You got anything to say?" 'e sez.
And I sez, "Yes sir..." I sez. "Any two sides of a triangle is, together, greater than the third." That 'ad 'im!... 'E couldn't answer, 'e 'ad to ask the clerk. Had their 'eads together for about five minutes.
Then 'e sez, "Ten shillings!"
I reckon they'd 'ave made that a pound... if I 'adn't knowed that.
I told this 'ere archy-ologist when I seed 'im, next time... and 'e larfed.
'E said, "I can see I shall have to learn you all about the square on the pyth-agga-arse." 'e sez. "If you know that" 'e sez, that's 'alf the battle."
But 'e never showed me...

Huh. I do something likewise. But, with only one meal per day. Nothing at all until night time, but no restrictions on what I eat. Anything I want no matter how unhealthy and fattening and as much as I feel like. No soda (xcept for liquor mixing). Works for me..

but then reconsidered after a lot of people gave 8pi/3 as answer.
The answer is 8 pi/3 because it is a tricky question.
If you use the fact that a period of a regular sine wave
is 2pi then you get 5 pi/2.
However, although the sin wave starts at 0 at x=0 like a regular
sine wave, the minimum is at 2pi (usually the end of a period
of a regular sin wave).
The minimum of a regular sin wave occurs between pi and 2pi,
or 3pi/2. Thus we do a simple ratio to figure out what P
is , our somewhat funky sin wave period.
3/4 of the period = 2pi
3/4x = 2pi .
x=8pi/3
The actual function graphed is sin(3/4x) but that is not required
to be given.
Please don't tell me this is from Common Core.

That means that EACH QUARTER of the distance is 2/3 PI
Just add 2/3 + 2/3 + 2/3 It equals 2
This means that to go to P, the distance is 2pi + 2/3 pi
This is the same as 8/3 pi or 8pi/3 if you prefer
You're welcome
