I'm sure the left will fall all over themselves in praise of this new, smart diplomacy. That's mostly because they are idiots. I'd have no problem with this kind of out reach if I thought Obama, Clinton and the gang of Special Envoys they are so fond of, had anything approaching a clear understanding of how dangerous Iran is. They simply think this is another country to be bargained with, a country who will play by the rules once they have nukes (and you know Team Obama won't even try and stop them). Of course all that flies in the face of 30 years of evidence to the contrary.

Also limiting my excitement about this new age of wonderfulness is the fact that the Obama administration has been anything but deft in their handling of the easy foreign policy issues. I'm not sure fucking up a visit with our oldest and closest ally is a solid foundation for the tough ones. But I guess when you are the Unicorn Whisperer you think all things are possible. One can only Hope that the inevitable DVD gift package goes better this time.
