— Slublog You have got to be kidding me.
“There are 100 senators here and I don’t know that there’s a senator that doesn’t have something in this bill that isn’t important to them,” Reid said. “If they don’t have something in it important to them then it doesn’t speak well of them.”Didn't somehow find a way to funnel some of that sweet, sweet taxpayer cash to your state? Tough luck, chumps! Guess you'll have to grovel earlier next time!He likened the legislation to the defense bill, which is thick with earmarks and other provisions benefitting individual members and even private corporations.
“That’s what legislations all about,” Reid said of the compromises
It's unreal how cavalier they are talking about using our money to bribe one another. (h/t: @seanhackbarth)

Sigh. Being reasonable doesn't work with these @ssholes, so let's play their game and demand bribes. If every single state doesn't get a bribe, then the senators shouldn't vote for the bill.

I was just surprised that we have not heard the story yet that at 12:45 a.m. this morning, Roland Burris walked up to Harry Reid and said "I'm a no on cloture - gimme". Of course, the day is still young so I expect to hear this story any day now.

They put people in jail for Ponzi schemes and Harry and Nancy should be the first to go for creating yet another monumental one. And they feel corruption --like paying each other off --is ok? I think they and their co-conspirators, oops, I meant Senators (D) and Rep (D) would look really really nice in orange.

At 2000+ pages, some of the stuff I would have put in the bill:
1) The complete text of "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac

They are proud of holding 1 am votes and constantly reanimating legislation that the public has clearly denounced and rejected. They are proud of the Traitor Tour that The Precedent ran around the world on. Dems, and the left, are very proud of all the shit they've been able to pull. If given any opportunity at all, they'll do far more. These people are without bounds, and with the slowest pea-brains that the US has ever seen. No morals. No shame. One downside to the holiday legislating is that our media talkers are not working. Nothing but fill in hosts on radio and lots of Americans not paying attention to the news during the Holiday's.
I only cling to hope that if they are not proud enough to show it to the public in the full light of day before passage, they are hiding something. Once passed, there will be no hiding anything. We will get to analyze it and explain to the American public how the theft of the century was accomplished.

Two reasons: 1) Democrats are in the majority, so they don't have a problem with attempting to do whatever they want. Who's going to investigate them? 2) If and when Republicans take the majority back, they won't do a damned thing about what the Democrats did. No investigations, no indictments, and no imprisonments. What's more, the Republicans will go straight back to making compromises with the Democrats, even while being in the majority, courtesy of the RINOs in their ranks.

When the 2nd American Revolution is completed, I think we should reopen Andersonville Prison and dump all those responsible for this crap in --- and then watch in hilarity as the only people they can graft and leech off of are each other.
Screw that. Put them all in Detroit and build a fence around the place. They'll either end up eating each other or swim across to Canada. Either way, we win.

If true, then I suggest we respond by following the example of Mandela... and fucking necktieing every damned one of the bastards.
(What? You thought I meant NELSON Mandela? Hell no -- he was fighting people who had a sense of decency, if an atrophied one.)

You know the irony is not lost on the fact this guy basically cut his teeth fighting mob corruption in Nevada only to bring the same type of mob corruption to the Capitol chambers years later.
I guess he learned from the best or it just rubbed off on him. However, I'd be willing to bet 'ol Dingy was just as dirty as the mob guys he was going after.
If Reid ever did anything except trim off a few mobsters the others wanted to get rid of, it was because he wanted his cut.

SOOO overstated. He was a non-player. No history of Vegas besides his own trumps his role up at all.

Below is letter to Frank Pallone, D-NJ.

Re: Horse trading. Or...what state are you from again?
Oh, OK. Nebraska just got free
Medicaid forever, and we got Bupkus? Go BACK and either get our Medicaid
expansion paid for - forever - or else go back and get us enough money for
education that we don't have to pay property taxes for 10 years, since it was a
Federal Judge that screwed the state on education funds. In fact...demand they
federalize Medicaid AND education funding. If they won't give us anything,
then threaten to balk at reconciliation.

Jean Chretien, the erstwhile Prime Minister of Canada, once defended the shitloads of money he was sending to worthless projects in his own riding (read: district) by saying "That's what a good member of Parliament does".
This is relevant because with your newly minted health care schemes, America will become more like Canada than you can yet imagine, and quickly. Harry Reid is just ahead of the curve.
Seriously folks, you may have lost the battle but you may yet win the war. When the Republicans retake Congress next year the first order of business should be to put an unending legislative full court press on Obama to undo whatever health care bill ends up passing here. He probably won't, but at least you'll have the stage set to do it quickly when is successor takes office in 2013 (as there's no way he'll be able to keep his office without succumbing to consistently applied pressure).
As long as you can repeal this bill before 2014 you will have only suffered some additional taxation and some interference with your private arrangements. But once that public money starts flowing you will NOT be able to turn off the taps, and health care and the increased governmental intrusion that comes with it will slowly consume your economy and your politics (look at what abortion has done to your judicial confirmations process). The American era, and the world as we know it, will come to an end.
This will feed the egoes of the anti-Americans of the world who currently praise this initiative; these will be the same people screaming themselves blue when America shuts off it's foreign aid and security guarantees as domestic spending drags the US into a more isolationist, inward-looking stance. So, you'll have that schadenfreude to look forward to.
