The "magical black character", or magical black friend, is a supporting stock character in American cinema who is portrayed coming to the aid of a film's white protagonists. These characters, who often possess special insight or mystical powers, have been a long tradition in American fiction.

Get some EmergenC from a pharmacy. Flavor: Tangerine. It helps.
Also, fresh garlic in soup (added with serving). Or, if you really want to be cured quickly: heat cup of V-8 juice 1 minute in microwave and add 1 minced clove of garlic before drinking. It will clear you sinuses. If you have a sensitive stomach, maybe not advised.
Hope you feel better soon.

Drink it down. The brandy pulls the honey sugars into your bloodstream. Wrap yourself in blankets until you sweat.

My daddy never wasted any food, even if it was left out of the fridge overnight and so the story about Mitt Romeny only eating the tops of muffins will make him like totally not relate and so he'll vote for Obama because of that alone cuz it's so important and Obama would totally go for the bottoms.
AND she said "muffin-gate".

Organizers of this yearÂ’s convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, turned to corporations after the cityÂ’s host committee struggled to reach its $36.7 million fundraising goal, according to the people, who requested anonymity.
Last year, the Charlotte host committee set up a separate entity called New American City Inc., to take corporate cash and to which Bank of America and Wells Fargo contributed, according to the people. The two banks were on a list of corporate donors released Sept. 1 by the host committee that also named AT&T Inc. (T), US Airways Group Inc. (LCC), Duke Energy Corp. It's their most divisive issue. If they let it slide off the table even a LITTLE bit, they know a big portion of their voting bloc just won't bother turning out on election day. So they have to crank the hysteria up to GIGANTIC HORROR and keep it there, like a bunch of whackjob carney barkers trying to make a woman with too much facial hair into a mindblowing sideshow attraction.

Won't happen. The promises made were political lies and will not be made whole. What will happen is the numbers will be recalculated down based on new law which will adjust one set of arbitrary, false numbers for a new set of smaller arbitrary, false numbers. At best.
It's an illusion. The ludicrous liability will be written off - like magic - and the paper gains (from the recipient POV) never realized. An epic boning is inevitable.

They don't even have to say the Dems support Gosnell, but this is what can happen without even minimal restrictions and oversight. In fact, to avoid being criticized a la the cancer death ray ad, they could even go so far and say Obama didn't support Dr Gosnell's crimes, but he does fully support unrestricted abortion right up to birth (bet a lot of people don't realize that).
Out of bounds? The Dems would go ballistic, no doubt. I know RR want to stay focused on the economy, but issues like this and O eating dog really turn people's stomachs.

If you are having a funeral and in need of a bugler to play taps, please contact Bugles Across America. They have a website that will ask you for the info regarding the funeral arrangements and a local bugle/trumpet player will come to the funeral to play taps. I had done this for my father and mother, after hearing the local VFW play a recording on a boom box with crappy speakers. There is no cost for this service. The player does need to be able to play Taps well and correctly. As a trumpet player myself, I have paid this back many times for a few Veterans organizations on Veterans Day.

"In all seriousness have the little winger ask Scott if after more time to consider if he truly feels Eastwood's empty chair routine was "cringe inducing.""
I think the political classes of both parties (and Walker, although awesome, is also a pol) really misread Clint's stint with the empty chair and did not realize that it was a hit with ordinary people. They are used to carefully scripted and vetted speeches and got nervous when they saw an old guy up there seemingly winging it. I cut Walker slack on that one. He's allowed to get one wrong as long as he gets governing right.

MSNBCs Chuck Todd from May of 2004:
"A Kerry Landslide: Why the Next Election Won't be Close."
Including a section entitled:
"Bush: The New Carter
Historically, when incumbents lose big, they do so for sound reasons: The public sees their policies as not working--or worse yet, as failures. That's certainly increasingly true of Bush today. From the chaos in Iraq to an uncomfortably soft economic recovery to the passage of an unpopular Medicare bill, the White House is having a harder and harder time putting a positive spin on the effects of the president's decisions.

The problem is that most of them are either non major characters (or just bit types like "old Jewish woman") or they aren't really religious. For example, Superman was raised by Christians but has no faith. The Thing is ethnically Jewish but has no faith.
Aunt May is very strongly Christian, however.

Anyway, Jeff (Thanks, Jeff!) and I were sitting at the CNN Grill bar enjoying complimentary margaritas when up walked famous political insider strategist James Carville. He chatted with us for several minutes, during which he revealed some fascinating inside political information. Unfortunately I can’t tell you what it was, because I can never understand anything Carville says. I know he is brilliant, but he sounds -- and I mean this respectfully -- like an extremely Cajun version of the Aflac duck. My notes just say: “Carville.”

A federal judge in Boston on Tuesday ordered the Massachusetts Department of Corrections to provide sex-change surgery to a transgender inmate serving life in prison for murder, ruling that failure to do so violated the prisoner's Eighth Amendment right to adequate treatment.
U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf ruled in the case of Michelle Kosilek, born as Robert Kosilek, who is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for murdering his wife in 1990. Kosilek who identifies as female, has received hormone treatments and lives as a woman in an all-male prison.

339225 wheatie,
The new and improved debt ceiling is $16.4 trillion, which doesn't hurt much if you say it fast. It's possible we will reach this ceiling before Nov. 6th, but it is certain we will hit it by the end of the year. More fun for the lame duck Congressional session.
I hope we hit it b4 the election, as it will be another nail in the SCoaMF's re-election chances.

237sven10077: "The unfunded liability monster while daunting can be controlled if we force the able off welfare."

That is what is happening in Greece as we speak.
Cutbacks in benefits, no prescription medicine, because the government has not paid for the last years worth of medicine, and the drug distributors are going broke, possible electricity shortages because they state has not paid for the electicity they bought in the previous quarter.
The Greek results are suicides, people abandoning their children, and mass unemployment. Socialism only works until you run out of other people's money.

Bain Capital Ventures Fund I (launched in 2001) managed wealth for “endowments and foundations such as Columbia, Princeton and Yale universities.”
Major, center-left foundations and cultural establishments also have seen their prospects brighten, thanks to Bain Capital. According to the aforementioned sources, such Bain clients have included the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Doris Duke Foundation, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Ford Foundation, the Heinz Endowments and the Oprah Winfrey Foundation.
Why on Earth would government-union leaders, university presidents and foundation chiefs let Bain oversee their precious assets?
“The scrutiny generated by a heated election year matters less than the performance the portfolio generates to the fund,” California State Teachers’ Retirement System spokesman Ricardo Duran said in the Aug. 12 Boston Globe. CalSTRS has pumped some $1.25 billion into Bain.
Since 1988, Duran says, private-equity companies like Bain have outperformed every other asset class to which CalSTRS has allocated the cash of its 856,360 largely unionized members.
Is Bain really a gang of corporate buccaneers who plunder their ill-gotten gains by outsourcing, euthanizing feeble portfolio companies and giving cancer to the spouses of those whom they fired? If so, union bosses, government retirees, liberal foundations and elite universities thrive on the wages of BainÂ’s economic Darwinism.

Reminder of our media's history:
MSNBCs Chuck Todd from May of 2004:
"A Kerry Landslide: Why the Next Election Won't be Close."
Including a section entitled:
"Bush: The New Carter
Historically, when incumbents lose big, they do so
for sound reasons: The public sees their policies as not working--or
worse yet, as failures. That's certainly increasingly true of Bush
today. From the chaos in Iraq to an uncomfortably soft economic recovery
to the passage of an unpopular Medicare bill, the White House is having
a harder and harder time putting a positive spin on the effects of the
president's decisions.
