— DrewM I don't know about you but I'm starting to miss some of that old fashion Dumb Power right about now.
IranÂ’s Government today announced plans to build ten new uranium enrichment plants and said work would start within two months. Each site will be the size of the existing Natanz plant with the aim of producing between 250-300 tonnes of uranium a year.
IRNA, IranÂ’s state news agency, says the Government ordered the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to begin construction of five uranium enrichment sites that have already been studied and propose five other sites for future construction.
Iran's actions came after the IAEA voted to condemn to Iran's nuclear program and called for a halt to it's program. *
Seems they might as well have spiked that vote. On the other hand Vienna, home to the IAEA, is lovely this time of year and I'm sure many diplomats have Christmas shopping to do, so they'll probably at least hold a meeting in the next few weeks. I highly recommend the market at the Rathauspark.
I don't know about you but I'm starting to get the idea Iran wants nuclear weapons more than a chance to, "take its rightful place in the community of nations", which is what Obama keeps insisting they really should want.
Then again, the creases in my pants aren't always immaculate, so what do I know?
*I changed that paragraph because the IAEA had already voted it's resolution. Sorry, I've been out of the loop for a few days. Still, Vienna is lovely this time of year.

Iran gets nukes -- Israel isn't safe, neither are our troops within striking distance of the region, nor Europe, nor India, nor any Middle Eastern or African country that dares express any support for anything/one Iran does not. I'm sure Hez, Hamas, AQ, and the Tali will be overjoyed though.

Lemme share something with you. You can get them permanently creased, dude. You know like at Mens Warehouse.
Remind me to get that tip to Ahmadinejad. He could use a couple of new suits, too. And a bath.

How is it that Obama believes them when they say they want nuke power for peaceful purposes, but doesn't believe them when they say they are going to wipe Israel off the map?

Because a country that has over 800 yrs. of oil and natural gas in reserve so totally needs to have nuclear power dontchya no?
They're just looking toward the future, however short it will be.
Nukes for Iran, no nukes for us.

Interestingly, I can recommend the first part of the technique to Israel as useful preparation for the results of my Iranian foreign policy.

There's really no doubt: these nukes will be used by Iran's distro network against Israel and the USA. We need to attack them, at least to cripple their economy, so that they have a 'place in the world community' to want to kiss our ass into rejoining.

Oh my, they voted to "condemn" them. How harsh after the "strongly worded letter" that was sent.
How can they be so mean?
Nothing illustrates how worthless the U.N. is any better than this.

Obama has given up trying to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. He also does not want to test US nuclear weapons, and wants to reduce them further with the goal of getting rid of all US nuclear weapons. In other words, Obama wants the US to be at the mercy of Iranian nukes. That he is willing to let Israel be destroyed so he can have "peace in our time" goes without saying.
Well, 52%, this is what you wanted, this is what you voted for, and when we start losing cities to Iranian nukes, that will be exactly what you will deserve. Too bad the rest of us are going to suffer too.

For anyone who wants to know what the West's reaction to Israel will be after it takes out Iran's nukes, just look at the insane reaction when Israel responded to rockets from Gaza and multiply that by 10000. Then you will be approaching what can be expected after Israel hits Iran.
Because of this situation, my advice to Israel is to take the Iranian oil fields when it hits Iran. That will be the only bargaining chip that Israel will have, other than its nuclear arsenal - which no one takes seriously, unfortunately. But ... Israel would never take the Iranian fields, so they know that they are about to be besieged by the world when they move to save themselves. It is going to be very ugly. Very, very ugly.

Why didn't Bush do something about this? Which one of us wouldn't have ordered an airstrike between November 3rd and January 20th? I guess that might be an additional consequence of the economic collapse that was at least partly deliberately committed inthe bond market. Iran cutting off oil traffic in their general naval range would have really fucked up the economy. More than a US city being nuked? WELL, NO.

At this point the only hope we've got is if that nutjob 'dinnerjacket decides to actually pitch nukes at Israel, and the damage can be minimized. IF the prevailing winds blow the way I think/hope they blow in that area of the world -- anyone know, because the threat of fallout/irradiated oil fields of their own from the other Arab states may be the only thing that can put a stop to Iran now. So, if Iran moves to nuke Israel, they may have a say in the matter.
This is thrown completely out the window if Iran is going to go into the business of providing terrorist cells with small, strategic nukes to use on the West, specifically us. Then our only hope is if China decides they want to keep us around a bit longer.
Oy, oy!

and let me add, that at times like this I really wish that Star Wars weapons system was up and running and we had things already in place that would make nukes look trite...and this was all just a big trap on our part for nutjob to walk into.
But I've got a very bad feeling that isn't so.
