— Uncle Jimbo Instapundit has this embedded, but it's not NBC's copy so they will probably get it pulled. The bloom is certainly off Obama's onion and this opening sequence for SNL is absolutely wicked. It takes a minute to get rolling, you have to wait for the Obama drone to shut up. But once it starts they tear him up on every one of his socialist programs and coming from the Chinese leader, that's rich. He is in deep shite now.
Bonus Lefty Troll Stupidity! [ace]: It's heartening to see the lefty trolls don't only spread their retardation on this site. Check out the first comment (at the moment) listed under this video on NBC's site:
Anyone who looks at this is a slam on Obama is watching too much Fox News. SNL and NBC are slamming the idiots who think the USA governs it's people in a superior way to China. Chinese government lies to their people all the time. But at least all their people know it. This skit is a slam on the left and right here in the states.
Uh-huh.
But seriously, if you haven't watched it, it's worth a watch. It's in the middle where the "Chinese President" really starts up on Obamanomics. I'm embedding it for your convenience.
Thanks for that to a poster whose email name looks like a contraction of a real name, so I won't post the name.

Well, now that Gallup has broken down 50% for Obama, looks like the horse is out of the barn. Today we hit 48%.
On top of that SNL is positively ripping Obama a new one.
The say that ridicule is a greater weapon than guns and bullets. Well, that being said, I think it is fair to say that Obama is being ridiculed, not just by the right, but by the left now.
Great days.

Sometime
around the Presidency of George W. Bush Democrats in Congress,
Hollywood, MSM, et.al. declared that the office of the President is no
longer to be respected. When our political elite stop screwing the
public, abusing our trust, whoring our country to the highest bidder,

then, they are dead to me including the President.

A bit of history - SNL has sucked since 1975. They could never do skits to save their ass, and SCTV and even Carol Burnett ripped their heinies. They attacked Ford relentlessly in '76 to get Carter elected and look at what that piece of shit turned into.

"What happened to respect for the office of The President of the United States?"
I respect the office tremendously. The incumbent, I despise. This is not a contradiction.
For example, if I were to attend the State of the Union address, I would rise to my feet when the President entered the room: that is respect for the office. When the President spoke, I would remain silent and hear him out: that is respect for the office. And if President Obama delivered his usual bolus of bigoted nonsense, I would write a rebuttal that attacked it and him as hard as I could: that is contempt for the incumbent.
Capice?

Look for Taiwan to fall under China's thumb in the near future. China is probably going to require that in order to keep buying debt, and The Precedent will be more than happy to throw Taiwan to the wolves (just as he did with Poland and the Czechs, without even asking for anything from Russia).
It's nice to see these little jabs at the dumbest person, and only traitor, to ever occupy the Oval Office, but this still came nowhere close to the truth of the matter and tried to maintain some veneer of US power when the fact is that The Precedent is doing everything he can to destroy US power and make a joke of our nation as he works to kill it from the inside.

Allah most certainly does believe that The Precedent is a smart guy - against every single bit of evidence available. He certainly did say that the imbecile "has more than enough brains for the job" - that was part of a pre-election post in which allah was explaining why felt more comfortable with the ineligible Indonesian with an IQ of 73 in the White House than with Palin as VP (another allahpundit high point). Then, after all of the obvious idiocy that The Precedent has done, allah went on to defend the idea that The Precedent is a smart guy (citing the fact that he won the election as some sort of proof), as he was arguing that the Olympics had to be in the bag or else the brilliant Precedent would not have scheduled the Copenhagen trip. That response of allah's was to a post of mine where I berated allah for not understanding the stupidity and motivations of The Precedent and not understanding why he scheduled Copenhagen without anything being in the bag (as his intention was merely to lower the dignity of the office and to do anything he could that was against American tradition). We all know how that turned out.

did anyone else get the sense the audience, by and large, did not find that skit amusing?
they laughed a little, but the big laughs came with the silly-slapstick-physical humor, e.g., yelling "doing sex with me," and bending over. But the audience was very quiet for most of the skit with only a few tepid laughs from a handful of people.
If it was Sarah Palin they were doing, the audience would be howling everytime Tina Fey made a funny face, just like how Jon Stewart's audience laughs when he mugs for the camera while doing a hit-piece on a Republican.

If this is flattery from MoDo then I'd hate to see her vitriol.
"He struggles to transcend identity politics while she wallows in them. As he builds an emotional moat around himself, she exuberantly pushes whatever she has, warts and all — the good looks, the tabloid-perfect family, the Alaska quirkiness, the kids with the weird names."
"Just like the disastrous and anti-intellectual W., this Visceral One never doubts herself. The Cerebral One welcomes doubt."
Now let's get onto Matt Taibbi, I'm sure you know who he is, AP links to him as well. Yeah, he's wondering why Obma can't be just like Palin too!
"Sarah PalinÂ’s battlefield, on the other hand, is whatever is happening five feet in front of her face. She is building a political career around the little interpersonal wars in the immediate airspace surrounding her sawdust-filled head. And in the process she connects with pissed-off, frightened, put-upon America on a plane thatÂ’s far more elemental than the mega-ditto schtick."
Yeah, that's all AP is about, flattering Palin! How could I be so blind?

I think what Ace is trying to say (but I'll say it better, boy) is that Dowd's rant was linked because it shows the natives are getting restless.
There's trouble in paradise, and Obama's supporters in the media are getting frustrated...with Obama.
Yeah, the frustration and criticism is couched in snark about Palin and Bush, but only thinly. Dowd's compliments of Obama were teetering on the back-handed variety.

No attempt to make the character look Chinese. So "ing twang doing ding" but dressing like the Chinese premier and darkening the actors hair, THAT would have been racist.
Strange world we live in.

The excerpt posted was exactly this:
Why canÂ’t our brilliant president be more like that vivacious Alaskan yokel? [allah's headline summation/comment]
Palin can be stupefyingly simplistic, but she seems dynamic. Obama is impressively complex but he seems static.
She nurtures her grass roots while he neglects his.
He struggles to transcend identity politics while she wallows in them. As he builds an emotional moat around himself, she exuberantly pushes whatever she has, warts and all — the good looks, the tabloid-perfect family, the Alaska quirkiness, the kids with the weird names.
Just like the disastrous and anti-intellectual W., this Visceral One never doubts herself. The Cerebral One welcomes doubt.
If that is supposed to highlight criticism of The Precedent, I'd love to get criticism like that. Even allah says it in the headline, MoDo is saying that The Precedent is too smart for his own good and needs to be dumber and cruder ... like Palin. (Of course, AP has this same view of the two, as he has posted about).
The fact of the matter is that The Precedent is near-retarded and couldn't match Palin in any true competition. I'd rather be in a nation Palin headed, going toe-to-toe with a nation headed by the Indonesian imbecile, any day of the week.

Well, Dr Rino, I disagree. I think any Republican who can articulate the conservative ideology regarding freedom, taxes, and the role of public service is a viable candidate in any state.
Our biggest problem is that we inarticulate pussies who can't handle questions about abortion, guns, and government waste.

Great piece, I can hardly believe it took NBC to do the first actual hard-hitting Obama skit. Couple of observations though...
So it took a solid year from the election to when SNL does an all-out satire of Obama. Did they actually mark this on their calendar and say, "OK, no jokes about Obama for the first year"?
I notice that the "Chinese" president and his interpreter look about as Asian as Wilford Brimley. A sign of the hyper-sensitive times, they know they can't do the eye-tape thing or the racism victicrats will do a Michael Richards on them.
Posted by: Crusty at November 22, 2009 02:08 PM (qzgbP)
Disagree with this?
You're delusional.
So, explain to me how the governor of Rhode Island, which politically isn't much different from New York, being a very solid conservative - AND reelected - while RINO's in the very same election got beaten hard squares with your view of the world.

SNL should've been doing skits like this for the last 9 months - but their politics are too stupidly hyperpartisan. The ludicriousness of Obama's economic policies (i.e. the target of this skit) have been raked by conservative critics nonstop - but have never been deemed worthy of ridicule until now...why? Because conservative American critics are the enemy, whereas the friggin' Chinese are admired (see: Tom Friedman), and therefore OK to depict mocking The One.
Yeah it's a funny skit, I like it. But don't kid yourselves that it means SNL and other left-wing media are rushing to skewer Obama. In a domestic context, especially in and around election time, they'll rally round their savior same as always.

This whole deal (and thread) reminds me of High School where a few of the "in crowd" start trash about their leader (the really kool kid who can do no wrong, farts don't stink and has it all and looks down on everybody else and everybody would crawl through sewage to kiss their feet) and the rest of the wannabes' and other interested kids think that the really kool kid is gonna fall....
Never fracking going to happen, not even in his/her senior year.
It's just normal bullshit that happens every year in every high school since dawn of same. Just like with every President that the U.S. has ever had. Obama is not the one to worry about. He is just a fracking mouthpiece and pretty piece of shit that the real (evil motherfrakers) movers and shakers in this world picked and have been preening and shaping for the last few years. He is just a PR vehicle for them to put in place their plans for not only the U.S. but for the world.
They are the dangerous ones, they are the ones to worry about.
There are really evil terrible people at work here guys and girls and they are not going to be stopped without violence. They are not going to allow free and honest elections anymore and will enact laws and regulations that will hobble and surpress every American and others in this ol' world. This economic crisis was planned and is not anywhere over.
You had better start preparing for really hard and bad times.

And NY has had Republican governors 40 out of the 62 years since World War II. So?
Look, we've tried your "RINO's can't win anywhere in the northeast" for years. RINO's are almost all that ever even get a chance. And what do we have to show for it? Nothing. But the few times solid conservatives actually get a -chance-, like in RI, they win spectacularly, among the exact same voting pool in the exact same year that threw out all their RINO's.
Why is this? Because RINO's have no strong support from anyone. Who the hell gets excited about a RINO? Anywhere? No one does. If you're going to get excited about a RINO, the Democrat is going to excite you a lot more. A solid conservative, on the other hand, will get very excited support anywhere, and that includes the northeast. That means funding, and grassroots campaign support, and -someone- in the existent universe that will say nice things about the guy during Thanksgiving dinner to counter the media's incessant "all Republicans, including RINOs, are evil incarnate" memes.
And if you think that not only has no value, if you think that isn't -the sum total of the political game-, then you are the delusional one.

LOL. This is what I was talking about in post 99. You fall out of line around here just a touch, you're a troll/sock puppet/moby/moderate. It's just sad how so many posters are petrified of having their views challenged by their own side.
Go read Doctor Zero in the Green Room section of HA. One of the best essayists I've read outside of ace's site.
Thanks for the recommendation and I'll consider it, but I'm not particularly interested in giving HA traffic.

Qwinn, I'm with you. People have forgotten how conservatives will vote in droves for an actual conservative; rather, they've become obsessed with pandering to the Middle as if that must be done to win an election.
Here's my question to you, and I just want to know your position on this:
If your choice is between a RINO and a democrat, what do you do? Vote for the lesser of evils, go third party, or not vote at all?

Depends on how bad the RINO is. If I think he is so deeply liberal that things will go to hell under his watch and the only thing his election will do is get conservatives blamed for the mess, then I don't vote.
I would vote 3rd party if there were any viable (as in >1%) ones here in NJ, but there aren't.

I just read all 165 comments straight through, and I'm simply amazed at what a clusterfuck this turned into. All because some lefty dickhead tripped the "I hate AP" trigger in some of you guys.
Here's what I think. AP can be pretty squishy. I've learned to live with that. If I see something he's got up that looks RINOish, I DON'T READ IT.
Let's keep our heads in the game. What matters is that we've got a closet commie and the foul bastards surrounding him to stop. There are elections and arguments to win. Letting this stupid troll start you ravening for AP's blood does not advance the cause.
And the poster who recommended Doc Zero was absolutely dead-on. Whoever DZ is, I'd like to shake his/her hand.

I'm pro-choice, or at least states-rights on on abortion, because I believe permitting it at least through the first trimester is a lesser evil than the extension of Federal authority necessary to prevent it. Further, as a practical matter this is a losing issue electorally in much of the West and Northeast. Don't drop it from the platform, just keep it on page two or three.
I'm neutral on gay marriage, I don't think it'll destroy the country, though I'd rather see it called something other than 'marriage'.
I'm very opposed to open-borders but see no rational way to throw out every illegal who's already here and integrated into the economy and culture.
Does that evict me from the conservative tent?
I'm even halfway sympathetic to what the Democrats are trying to do on healthcare; if we were just looking for rational ways to separate insurance coverage from employment and ensure affordable coverage for the 'uninsurable' I'd be on board, but the Dems are trying to create entire huge new bureaucracies for the unions to staff which is patently unacceptable.
On the other side, climate alarmism is an absolute litmus-test issue for me, I absolutely will not support any candidate who's a committed AGW believer.
I have in thirty years voted for a Democrat for partisan office exactly once, to my recollection. Jimmy Carter, Jerry Brown, and Ronald Reagan made me a Republican.
I'm a pretty staunch supply-sider; and a believer in a forceful foreign policy; the two rational things Bush 43 ever did were the tax cuts and the Afghanistan response after 9/11. I believe in free trade is not an industrial policy but that it's a rational cornerstone for one.
Don't try to sell me the "you can't be a conservative unless you're a social con" crap.
Posted by: mrkwong at November 22, 2009 09:08 PM (G8Eo0)
On foreign relations it's a very good thing that they've been a bunch of bumblers because if they'd competently executed the direction they're trying to go it'd have been an unmitigated disaster for this country. Pretty much everyone has figured out that they can kick us around but at least the scale of threat is more modest than in 1961 or 1976.
On domestic policy the story's about the same, maybe worse because in some areas - EPA's endangerment finding regarding CO2 - the administration has the ability to do real damage to our future without Congressional help.
On the big-ticket items the administration has let Pelosi and Reid run wild, the 'stimulus' will be a load of rocks on our back for a decade and that's an optimistic assessment, hopefully Waxman-and-Markey-and-Boxer-and-Kerry is dead for the foreseeable future, if a 2000-page healthcare bill passes it will be a mess even IF the 'public option' is stripped. We need healthcare reform, but we need 20 or 200 pages, not 2000.
