Sorry I Blew Off Blogging

It was no big deal, but I was/am sort of sick. Not seriously sick, just have this weariness and achiness and nappiness for three days now. Minor stuff in nose or throat. It's more like this illness that just demands I lay in bed and nap.

It's not really an excuse, because, at the end of the day, I could have fired out just headlines and some snark. So, I guess the real reason is: I didn't feel like it. Was a bit unwell (not really unwell, just enough to notice) and decided that I should indulge myself like a big, pants-wetting baby all worried about terrorism and stuff.

Plus... whoa, that Christmas holiday this year? Four days off? In a row? I guess I sorta got used to that, too.

Anyway, I'm still under the weather but will try to remember a bit more that I am fortunate enough to have a job, and that I shouldn't just take off whenever I feel like it.

On the other hand, holiday's coming up again, so...

Open Blog.

But will be blogging and stuff on the lighter weekend-type schedule, at least until Monday.

8 Ace my husband has had the exact same thing, been going on 3 weeks now. He is finally starting to feel better. Doc put him on Cipro. Said if wasn't better by next week he was going to x-ray his chest, suspects walking pneumonia. He's had it before. Hope you feel better soon.

Hey in the "real world" you'd get sick days. No questions asked--no explanation necessary. Take the time off. a) you deserve it and b) sounds like you need it.

Just don't watch porn this time. Despite what the morons will tell you, it won't put you on the path to happier health. You need rest and fluids, more fluids and more rest. That's the prescrption, fill it, and abide by it. Feel better soon....

Jewells, I'm doing fine and the boy is doing really well, or at least he sounds like it from his letters (except for a nasty incident with some razor wire last week).

He graduates in two weeks! I ran into a friend in Fresh Market today who said, "Wow! He's getting out so soon!" Ummmm....no.

And yes, swine flu does still exist. I'm in day 7 of this mo-fo, and it ain't fun. The last time I had something like this I got pneumonia, but after I broke the fever last night (sweat so bad that the bed turned into a swamp, soaked completely...the wife thought I pissed myself...again...).

My daughters friend who is in Iraq is coming home for 2 weeks in January. He's lost 20 pounds! He's so excited and we can't wait to see him. Geez, if you knew this kids story you woudn't believe it.

58 As an aside, it must be difficult to be a blogger on a blog that is read as much as this one. To have to come up with something that you can write about or to have to write about something you really can't write about in a surrepticiouis way and hope the audience gets the nuance. Reading on drudge that they are going to subpoena bloggers makes you wonder about that female NYT's reporter who went to jail rather than reveal her source. Jewell, that is your computers name or IP. It is coded, but you can watch and see who is posting with different names, which is really unique to the AoSHQ.
