You wanna learn how to be a drinker? Man up, drink up, and learn up! Blessings will be found if you allow yourself to learn! Well, just keep learning about everything, the truth will indeed set you free!)

No, they are devout Muslims Marxists. Why else would anyone put Mao and a drag-queen on their Christmas tree? It was just the Obama's way of giving us all and Jesus the bird on his birthday.

38 the environment is going kaput?

Holy shit, this is what people believe

I got a book today with pictures of quilts from a national show that took place over the summer.  Two anti-Bush quilts, one Barry O quilt, and seven quilts about the world being destroyed by global warming.  Out of 60 quilts.

Although if you really believe the world is REALLY being destroyed by human industry and activity, maybe you shouldn't be contributing to it by purchasing fabric woven/finished in Third World countries with no EPA, then shipped to your location, then sewn together with a machine that uses electricity, then shipped to a show, then featured in a book printed on *gasp* trees.   Good grief.

--"wa" (wa denotes the subject) ---(object) "no" (denotes possessive, or in this case, comparative) "ho ga ii" (better than).  (I should have added "desu", which is the actual verb)

Although I actually do like Kirin more than Suntori - Kirin has a nice semi-dark beer that is very smooth.  But Suntori has a few good brews, and some good memories were had with Suntori.

110 hard core Morons with no life are posting here on Christmas Eve.

I have a life, but unfortunately I'm 1500 miles from it at the moment.

111 re: 109  You say that like the club is a bad thing.

112 I've been bitterly disappointed that it's been too cool for them It was in the 40s last night while we were at Disneyland. That's pretty damn cold by SoCal standards. My hands were frozen, but I was fine in jeans and a hooded sweater. Didn't occur to me to go back to my car to get a jacket, although I was wishing I had gloves.

113 I'm waiting for the ONT. I hope there is one tonight... And I'm going out to a family dinner in about an hour and half so I'm just killing time.

115 My boss is in Ripon, CA; it is fun to make her shudder by describing current Iowa weather.

Posted by: Hatchet Five at December 24, 2009 05:20 PM (qB3D9)

116 The Libs on PBS are very, very clever.  They teased a story about global warming just before launching into a story about all the snow in the mid-section.  Clever, clever!

I think for 2010 we all should changes our nicks. You see, that way, hilarity will ensue. Ensuing hilarity is fun.

120 Hatchet, both of my folks were born in Mason City.  Are you anywhere near there?

Posted by: GregInSeattle at December 24, 2009 05:24 PM (B5cM9)

121

Sprechers here.  Because I can.

I'd kill for a Sprecker Root Beer right now.

122 My boss is in Ripon, CA; it is fun to make her shudder by describing current Iowa weather. It gets pretty cold up there, colder than down here. But now I laugh gleefully at my friends on the east coast. I do it with love!

Posted by: wherestherum at December 24, 2009 05:26 PM (gofDd)

123 120 my sister lives about 40 miles from there.  I live right outside Des Moines.

Posted by: Hatchet Five at December 24, 2009 05:26 PM (qB3D9)

124 122 but not by that much.  She described it getting into the 30s a couple weeks ago as a horrifying event for them.   I laughed; at that point it was in the single digits back in the midwest.

Posted by: Hatchet Five at December 24, 2009 05:28 PM (qB3D9)

125 My Grandpa lived in Des Moines, years ago.  I love the folks in the heartland, but the topography is a bit, uh, "homogeneous" for someone from Seattle.

Posted by: GregInSeattle at December 24, 2009 05:30 PM (B5cM9)

126 I drove through Des Moines on the way to NY. I think we stayed the night just outside. The last couple of winters here have been pretty frosty. We had a bad frost the year before that cost a lot of crops, especially citrus in the Central Valley. So it does get cold, just not usually during the day. At night I've seen go into the upper 20s. When I was 4 years old it snowed at my house and we're at 1500 ft.

127 SMU is playing its' first Bowl Game in 25 years.

They are up 31-0 over Nevada at the half.

128 Via PBS, evidently elevated CO2 will create a ragweed explosion.  Lots of allergy problems for folks (which I can empathize with)...  BUT, I wonder will wheat, soy and corn production also explode?

Posted by: GregInSeattle at December 24, 2009 05:33 PM (B5cM9)

129 Guess I'm skipping the family dinner. I thought my childhood best friend was going to be there (it's her family we're going to dinner with) but she's flaked. Again. Her mother said she's coming to dinner tomorrow but I'm sure she's going to flake again. She didn't show up last year either.

Mmmm, mmmmm, Christmas dog. I'll bet it's tasty.

I keed, I keed.

Merry Christmas rum, just in case I don't run into you later on the ONT, have a good one and god bless.

Thanks, I'll put it in my deep freezer. Hell, at the rate things are going, this time next year, dog meat will probably be a delicacy here in the states.

136 134 No, I'm pretty sure they don't allow this much internet access for the inmates

I think I got sent through a time warp. The page I wound up at had this on it:

138 Skipping Christmas Eve dinner because an old friend won't be there? I'm sure it'd be a good time anyhow... wouldn't it? No, it's kind of weird. Her parents and my parents talk so I just end up talking to my sister. Even if my friend's brother is there, he doesn't talk much. Feels awkward to me.

139 Merry Christmas, Blazer. I'll send you some dog meat.

LOL.  When we feel like teasing our dog, we ask her if she wants to go to the Chinese restaurant.  She wags her tail excitedly, the dumb thing...

140 When we feel like teasing our dog, we ask her if she wants to go to the Chinese restaurant. She wags her tail excitedly, the dumb thing... We like saying, "hey dummy" to our dogs and they look at us and wag their tails happily. Dogs are silly.

145 Finished wrapping!  Earliest ever, usually not done until Christmas morning.

You Morons will appreciate this tradition:  At around 11 pm, when we're all sick of each other, we head out to the near by local biker bar, where we drink even more, and play pool, darts and pinball.  It's funny seeing my 70 something folks living it up in a biker bar on Christmas Eve.  They love it.
