I wonder if Al Gore is in the DC area trying to lobby for health care. We are supposed to get 10-15 in of snow tomorrow. I can count on one hand how many times that has happened here and only once before Christmas.
Could the Gore effect be getting worse? What should we do?

Give Gore a ceremonial position somewhere outside the US. I nominate Brussels.

You're not going to get him very far with that method. You'll need as least a cannon as large as one found on a battleship.

Rep. Peter DeFazioÂ’s phone rang. On the other end was Rahm Emanuel.
The White House chief of staff last month expressed frustration with DeFazio’s resignation calls for President Barack Obama’s top two economic aides — Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and White House chief economist Larry Summers — and appealed for cooperation, according to DeFazio.“Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother,” Obama told DeFazio during a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus, according to members afterward.
DeFazio better watch out or he might OD on aspirin.

"Could the Gore effect be getting worse? What should we do?"
The answer is clear to me.
A) Al Gore is worried that the polar ice caps are melting away to nothing.
B) Severe winter weather and/or record low temperatures follow Al Gore wherever he goes.
Therefore,
C) Al Gore must immediately assume a rotating schedule of spending six months at the north pole, followed by six months at the south pole.
USE YOUR GORE-EFFECT POWERS FOR GOOD, AL! ONLY YOU CAN LEAD TEH COLD BACK HOME!

Also, I noticed today (yes, I'm slow) that Ace got some link-lovin' on NewsBusters.org yesterday.
Someone else may have pointed this out already, and if so, then chalk this additional comment up to me following in Ace's staggered, shuffling footsteps.
It is a story about the recent revelation that Andi Sullivan lets other people use his blog from time to time (to time to time to time to time...). Which makes me think that possibly Ace knew this linkage was coming, thus inspiring the introspection on the post, and the subsequent pottymouth-walkback.

You'll need as least a cannon as large as one found on a battleship.
Um, the largest battleship gun ever bored was only 18 inches. We could probably cobble together a working Saturn 5 from museum display untis, but even then it might not have enough thrust for His Gaianess.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed Haj Aziz said Friday that Iranian troops seized oil well No. 4 Thursday night.
He said he did not know whether Iranians were still in control of the oil well. He said the Foreign Ministry and the Oil Ministry are coordinating over what steps to take and were considering summoning the Iranian ambassador to discuss the issue on Saturday.

"I mean, I’m feeling violated, angry, sullen, and depressed–much as I did when Bush was in office. It doesn’t help to see the ne’er-do-well Republicans continue to swagger and obstruct as they’ve always done even in the face of a mind numbingly, career ending defeat coupled with absolutely crushingly low poll numbers. Yet, they seem to be WINNING for fucks sake while the Democrats with an overwhelming majority–excuse me for reversing the metaphor–bend over and willingly ask for repeated raping Ned Beatty style."
