I wonder if Al Gore is in the DC area trying to lobby for health care. We are supposed to get 10-15 in of snow tomorrow. I can count on one hand how many times that has happened here and only once before Christmas.

Could the Gore effect be getting worse? What should we do?

Rep. Peter DeFazioÂ’s phone rang. On the other end was Rahm Emanuel.

The White House chief of staff last month expressed frustration with DeFazio’s resignation calls for President Barack Obama’s top two economic aides — Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and White House chief economist Larry Summers — and appealed for cooperation, according to DeFazio.

“Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother,” Obama told DeFazio during a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus, according to members afterward.

"Could the Gore effect be getting worse? What should we do?"

The answer is clear to me.
A)  Al Gore is worried that the polar ice caps are melting away to nothing.
B)  Severe winter weather and/or record low temperatures follow Al Gore wherever he goes.
Therefore,
C)  Al Gore must immediately assume a rotating schedule of spending six months at the north pole, followed by six months at the south pole.

Also, I noticed today (yes, I'm slow) that Ace got some link-lovin' on NewsBusters.org yesterday.

Someone else may have pointed this out already, and if so, then chalk this additional comment up to me following in Ace's staggered, shuffling footsteps.

It is a story about the recent revelation that Andi Sullivan lets other people use his blog from time to time (to time to time to time to time...).  Which makes me think that possibly Ace knew this linkage was coming, thus inspiring the introspection on the post, and the subsequent pottymouth-walkback.

Or what the payback is, or what the assumptions are regarding the power sources or pricing of that power for a decade or whatever the payback period is. 94 Foundary in Wales ... Yahoo is your friend. This project was enabled by engineering expertise from Carbon Trust Wales. Funded of course by the Welsh government. That's fine, can we has government engineers doing raw research for Ford? (Not GM or Chrysler, the government already owns them). And the project was funded by the Government to the tune of a 1 million dollar loan and a 50 thousand grant. ref: http://www.assemblywales.org/N0000000000000000000000000032071.pdf page 6 discusses Melloy. So the great and wonderful news is that if you spend a million pounds, you save a million pounds over ten years. Just for spending it on a product that has a 10 year expected life. Wow. With a plan like that even a moron like me could get rich. Especially if I didn't pay back the loan. That's a payback of a big old 0% if you have an expectation that money costs you NOTHING. If you have any higher expectations of the cost of money, it sounds like a bad deal.

The Apache is a great piece of equipment, no doubt.

A squad of which coming over the sand dunes looks much like the horsemen of the appocalypse.

104 How did these putzes think that any idea that had Robert Mugabe lecturing people self-righteously was going to turn out well?

Not to mention Chavez letting off one of his maximum carbon footprint farts and blaming all the problems of the world on capitalism.

105 I love how Sarah Palin is keeping her mouth shut as the Carnival of Commies spirals into the Abyss. --- Actually a Christmas message from a snow bound house, in front of roaring fire would punctuate things nicely.

Anderson Cooper, graduate in Political Science and International Relations from Yale University, CNN anchor and meta political expert on everything, mocker of "teabaggers" cannot find Indiana on a map, admitting he is "terrible at geography".

If you recall, President Toonces' stellar career started from him achieving a degree in Political Science from Columbia.

I'd suggest Al Gore's house, but that would be pushy.

The Yamato had 18" guns.

But then again, why bother with those when you stuff Gore into the mouth of the Wave Motion Gun.  Even he would fit in the muzzle of that puppy.

RE the missing 'Arbeit Mach Frei' sign.

Maybe Obaka wanted it for the White House's West entrance?

Hey, she advised Barry to stay home.  Not her fault he's too arrogant to listen to anyone outside his little Marxist/Alinsky circle.

110 89 Well lookee there- Rasmussen has peznit poopypants down to 44% approval.

Bah hahahahahahah.

The Abyss Index (approve minus strong disapprove) is now 44%-42% =+2% again.

113 67 BAGHDAD – Iraq's deputy foreign minister says Iranian troops have seized an oil well in southern Iraq along their disputed border

I saw this too. It's on jihadwatch and hot air; however, hot air is saying that the incident is already over. Yet if you read the story from the BBC, it's not.

Consensus seems to be that Obama will do.... wait for it............. nothing.

I concur.

Foreign Ministry and the Oil Ministry are coordinating over what steps to take and were considering summoning the Iranian ambassador to discuss the issue on Saturday.

And I'm sure they'll be more than happy to discuss the issue for as long as you want.

Hell, they may even decide to give the land to Iran. Just as a slap in the face to the US.

It's obvious that he's had "help" with his career. In the early 90s he did his foreign reporting while wearing a Flock of Seagulls-style haircut on national broadcast TV. Anyone else would have been laughed off the tube.

Current and former employees of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl said they were encouraged to donate money to specific political candidates and were reimbursed by the bowl through bonus payments

Article doesn't say who those candidates were, of course.

128 Oh, this is juicy.  A Liberal is upset about Obama.

"We're All Ned Beatty or Can You Believe in Change"

"I mean, I’m feeling violated, angry, sullen, and depressed–much as I did when Bush was in office. It doesn’t help to see the ne’er-do-well Republicans continue to swagger and obstruct as they’ve always done even in the face of a mind numbingly, career ending defeat coupled with absolutely crushingly low poll numbers. Yet, they seem to be WINNING for fucks sake while the Democrats with an overwhelming majority–excuse me for reversing the metaphor–bend over and willingly ask for repeated raping Ned Beatty style."

Utterly exhausted by New York.  Eight months, and I still feel like Jane Goodall.
