1 Vodka in form of a pill would come handy at parties when “consumers” would be able to calculate their exact required dosage.

"Exact required dosage"?  That sounds like a really good line.  I should use that.

What's the point?  It's not a good time til you go way above & beyond the "exact required dosage".

What did Barry say last night about how he's created new ties with the Muslim world?

TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday Iran will now enrich its uranium to an even higher level, defying a U.N. call to halt the process due to fears over the country's nuclear program.

Ahmadinejad expressed frustration with negotiations over a U.N.-backed deal to swap Iran's low-enriched uranium for higher-enriched fuel rods to power its medical research reactor.

"I declare here that with the grace of God, the Iranian nation will produce 20 percent (enriched uranium) and anything it needs itself," Ahmadinejad told a cheering crowd of thousands in the southern city Isfahan.

Did Barry's speech in Cairo cover this?

Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Companies in the U.S. cut an estimated 169,000 jobs in November, according to a private report based on payroll data.

The drop, the smallest since July 2008, compares with a revised 195,000 decline the prior month, data from ADP Employer Services showed today. The figures were forecast to show a decline of 150,000 jobs, according to the median estimate of 32 economists in a Bloomberg survey.

The report signals the job market is still deteriorating and unemployment will probably climb further even as the economy is emerging from the worst recession since the 1930s.

An economic recovery where things continue to get worse. That is unprecedented.

The family of fatties article caught my eye.

We get people in our medical practice all the time trolling for disability due to a laundry list of complaints that basically come down to "too fat to work."  A surprising number of them are illegals.

Every one I've every met who managed to get on the public dole promptly put on another 20-50 lbs the first year out of work.

Wish the gov't would do a study.  Letting fat folks not work is directly bad for their health.

The first is that I find him so transparent and shameless in his manipulations that I weep for those who are somehow prey to it. He's underhanded and mercenary and self-pitying and always manages to be nasty with that smooth, soft demeanor. I just hate his guts on a personal level. It bothers me that he's so damned obvious about his manipulations and that many people's bullshit detectors are so defective they fail to go off.

Petreus on Fox & Friends this morning commenting on The One's speech & war plans.  He carried the water pretty much.  Said 30,000 plus the other several thousand we'll get from other countries will be good.  He also said the 18 mo. withdrawal was just a time frame to begin starting to leave.  Overall, he was pretty thumbs up on it all..at least from the snippet I caught.

34 Hey guys, dig this from Eric Massa, D NY:

"I would have to ask a question:
Why 30,000 troops and not 40?
Why 30,000 troops and not 20?
Why 18 months and not 16 or 24?
These are artificial time lines and numbers
that have no true military significance
as planners sit down and develop
what's called "troop to task" requirements.
There is nothing that I heard tonite that
would convince me that we are embarking
on a strategic mission that is both vital
and necessary."

Of course it's all in the interests of saying NO troops to A-stan at all, but sure he paved that road to Hell with some nice stones.

Argh!!!

Gingrich is saying the same thing as Ed M. said yesterday:

Furthermore, Congress should allocate resources to reassemble raw weather data from around the world and make it publicly available so independent scientists can verify the legitimacy of the "adjusted numbers" of the Climate Research Unit.

No, no, no. We do not need to spend millions or billions more on this. All these scientists who happily used data that knew was bad should not get to keep taking my money.

If our activity warmed the earth, we would have seen it by now. The game should be OVER.

Keep following the money, they still want to keep ours.

38 No, no, no. We do not need to spend millions or billions more on this. All these scientists who happily used data that knew was bad should not get to keep taking my money.

Yes yes yes.  We do.  For two reasons: The first is that we need to actually make the study of the climate back into a hard science, which requires a purge of the charlatans, which would be far more likely if other scientist-scientist types got ahold of the raw data, did the work on them, compared them to the current claims and called bullshit;  Secondly, as long as the "science" is unsettled, and there is still that carrot-on-a-stick possibility that the warmist cult's fondest dreams will come true, they will keep fucking that chicken instead of moving on to a new crisis du jure.

Newt's gone a little overboard here...In response to these recent revelations, Congress should open an investigation into the degree of bias in the climate change community (including the journalists that report on the topic).

So what exactly can congress do about reporters? Nothing. Nor should they. Reporters are not government employees, so the gov. needs to lay off.

Newt way over steps his bounds on that one.

Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- While President Barack Obama plans to start withdrawing U.S. forces from Afghanistan a year after completing his troop buildup, some Afghans say the necessary progress in stabilizing the country may not happen that quickly.

Obama’s announcement yesterday that he will send 30,000 more troops over seven months, and will begin a withdrawal by July 2011, “raises a lot of questions,” said Mahmoud Saikal, a former deputy foreign minister who got up before dawn in Kabul to watch Obama’s speech on CNN. While he praised what he said is Obama’s broadened approach to Afghanistan, Saikal said it will take years, not months, to build “the fully functional administration in Afghanistan that is necessary.”

“What happens in July of 2011 if the situation is worse than today?” Saikal asked in a telephone interview. “Will the U.S. still withdraw?”

54 Obama Tells Nation He's Going Out For Cigarettes

"He'll be back any minute now and everything will be okay again," said press secretary Robert Gibbs, checking his watch. "Maybe the 7-Eleven he went to was out of his brand so he had to go somewhere else. Or maybe he got lost. OrÂ…or maybe he just decided to stop and get some ice cream for everyone and that's why he's not back yet."

"Yeah, that's it," Gibbs added. "That's it."

Mama and Balrog are both right. Sure, we should continue to issue science grants to establish a real science of global climate. For a while, the amount should be nearly what we have been spending. But a similar amount must be spent on a purge of the existing fake scientists.

I want to see a regular reign of terror among that faculty. Wouldn't even mind seeing a major state university somewhere lose its charter. And those pseudo-scientists need to be absolutely unemployable when the "process" is done with them: no credentials, degrees revoked, felony record, passport canceled, and their name on the watch list. A regular McCarthy witch hunt, except this time we actually do it.

They don't vote, they don't own a gun, they can't buy from American Science Surplus, can't attend seminars or conventions or subscribe to National Geographic. I go the refrigerator in the middle of the night and carve off a piece of their ass for a sandwich. And that cost should be borne by the Science of Global Climate, as the the price of continuing to exist. Then we'll talk about some research money.

Pour encourer les autres.
