The original number - the one Slappy was crowing about, was 3.5%.. A 60% overstatement.. The first revision, was still overstated by 27%.
Now, just apply their sloppy accounting to their wonderful Health Care Bill.

On the other hand,
I don't live in Detroit,
so I've got that going for me.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Dec. 22 (Bloomberg) -- The economy in the U.S. expanded in the third quarter at a slower pace than anticipated as companies curbed spending and cut inventories at an even faster pace, reductions that have set the stage for acceleration in growth.
The 2.2 percent increase in gross domestic product from July through September compares with a 2.8 percent gain previously reported by the Commerce Department in Washington.
3rd quarter GDP number being revised downward is all Bush's fault!

There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining? Is it snowing?
Is a hurricane a-blowing?
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
Yes! The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing!!!

OBAMA FALLS TO -21 ON RASMUSSEN with only 44% overall approval:
Looks like the predicted "spike in support to 60%" that the des were predicting after they rammed through Obamacare won't be happening. Color me NOT surprised.
With 46% STRONG DISAPPROVE, Obama is within a few points actually having a majority strong disapprove. Democrats really are on a suicide mission.

Sometimes, an analogy can cut the heart out of an imprudent argument. The Democrats argue that health care is a Constitutional right. They plan to force every citizen to purchase a "qualifying" insurance product. They plan to fine, or possibly jail, those who refuse to purchase this product. Enter the Second Amendment. The Constitutional right to own a firearm. What would prevent a conservative Congress and President from making the ownership of a firearm mandatory? What would preclude them from compiling a list of "qualifying" firearms? Why couldnÂ’t this gang force the "rich" to subsidize the provision of firearms for the poor? Nothing! Not one thing. Take it. Run with it.

If we are to start paying now, but the program does not go into effect until 2014, what is the actual mechanism by which we fund this POS? Will the government be sending notices to insurance companies that they have to change their policies immediately, to conform with the regs in the ObamaCare Bill? Will non-compliant policies be cancelled, before the government has had time to put anything in their place? If so, does this mean fines for non-compliance start immediately? As in, before the 2010 election, with the disastrous results that could result for the left?
I get the feeling no one, save for a few bureaucrats/lobbyists/legislative aides really knows the answers to some really basic questions, and if we can tease those answers out, we could have great ammo to use against Teh Won and his minions.

“This is a real debate over whether or not health care is going to be a right or privilege in America,” said Senator Richard Durbin of Illinois, a member of the Democratic leadership. “If you believe it’s a privilege for the rich, then you’ll vote against this. If you believe it’s a right, then I hope you’ll vote with us.” Durbin spoke on the Senate floor before the vote.

Either way, as vanilla as it may be in the beginning it's still a Trojan Horse, the camel getting its head in the tent so to speak. Check out this quote from Harkin:
“It will be revisited,” Harkin said. “This is just the beginning. … What we’re building is a starter home, not a mansion. And guess what? We have room for expansions and additions later on.”

The lie has weathered every rack, the scalps you sought soon won;
The jurys out, though they're in doubt, the kossacks are revolting,
While follow all the comic tale of Biden, grim and daring.
But O Bush! Bush! Bush!
O the swelled and phantom head!
Now mocking truth, freedom lies
Fallen cold and dead.
II.
O people! Dear people! rise up and take the bait;
Rise up! For you the shite is flung, for you the kossacks wait:
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths, for freedom's scalp a'bringing:
For you they wait, the seething mob, their eager faces turning.
Here people! Dear people!
It's Cheney in your head;
It is some dream and woven web,

III.
The cloture did not snag him, his lips are taught and thin;
He's free to walk and talk the talk and Nancy's off her ken;
The law is finished safe and sound, its cozen closed and done;
From hoax and tripe and Barack's shite awaits the object won!
Exult, O Times, and gull, O Post!
But I with mournful dread,
Walk the rue where freedom lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

We harped a little on this yesterday. These people are not stupid, they have a long term goal for preservation. Amnesty comes next giving them 12-25 million more voters beholden to them. Plenty enough to stay in power the for years to come if not forever.
This morning we all woke up in a bannana republic without representative democracy where the Constitution has been mocked and subverted. Malor can say what he wants, but everyone I've seen on the right so far this morning says it indeed has after actions last night in the Senate chamber.
We are well on our way down the road to serfdom. The question is, what are we gonna do about it? I fear in the end, our votes won't be enough.

I think it is more that last of the three than anything else, and explains the others. Obama is captive to special interests, as are many of the key members of the Congress, and the Obama Administration, and the Federal Reserve. And I should add his two predecessors.
It explains why he cannot articulate a coherent ideological position and make it stick. Make no mistake, he is a smart and verbally adept individual, a gifted person intellectually. But he cannot adhere to principles because he has abandoned whatever principles he may have had to serve a variety of corrupting interests. And he appears laissez faire and distant because he is a figurehead, a household servant, and not in control.
What makes Obama a greater failure than either Bush or Clinton is that he was elected on the promise of reform, a promised change, a political renewal in a country sickened by the erosion if not betrayal of its republic by men who view the Constitution as 'just a goddam piece of paper.'

I'd been expecting defections before this. Frankly, if the GOP isn't fomenting this to the limit of the law and its ability, it deserves to go the way of the Whigs.

When congress at last had departed
for Christmas we found that they'd farted
out healthcare reform legislation.
Sadly the stench was just too much
for voters to take, and so as such
they started up pol sanitation.
The shotguns were loaded with rocksalt

What force or guile could not subdue
Thro' many warlike ages
Is wrought now by a coward few
For hireling traitor's wages.
The English steel we could disdain,
Secure in valour's station;
But English gold has been our bane --
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!

Obama is captive to special interests, as are many of the key members of the Congress, and the Obama Administration, and the Federal Reserve. And I should add his two predecessors. -
The Federal Reserve? Captive to the special interests? The Federal Reserve? Really? Would someone please pass along to whoever made that statement that the Fed. is NOT a govt. entity. That they are THE special interest of special interests. Not. Answerable. To. Anyone.

If an average dog is worse than an SUV then this guy must be worse than a coal fired power plant.

Well, he could piss on our shoes and we could like it. Barring that, I don't see anyway.
P.S. Damn sock! It was I who linked to Giant George. Hairy Asshole is a leftover from when I was imagining myself as the Senate Majority Leader.
