So fracking Socks, the fracking White House cat, is worthy of inclusion on this list. But Donald Westlake, one of the best mystery writers who ever lived, isn't?
(Okay, so, technically, he died in 2008; December 31st, 2008, as he was headed to a New Year's Eve party. But I doubt he made last year's list, either. I can't find a link to the 2008 list on the Fox site.)

Drew, I feel your pain. I do think I was the only person around telling people that Bruno Kirby had died of Leukemia.
