8 (8 What?) Arrested In Bell City, CA Salary Scandal
— Ace

8 what? 8 Republicans? 8 Greens? 8 Tea Partiers?

8 fucking what, MSNBC?

Oh, you know what.

Ace-Wheres-MY-Pie.jpg

Eight current and former officials in the blue-collar city of Bell, including former City Manager Robert Rizzo, were arrested Tuesday in a corruption investigation into bloated salaries and misuse of taxpayer funds.

Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said the suspects were booked into county facilities and will be kept away from other inmates for their protection

This picture of Robert Rizzo being led away from his Huntington Beach, CA, home is priceless. (A meme-generator version of that pic now appears up-post.)

Meme-generator set-up of Rizzo by Pundit140. His was also damn funny.

68 Aside from Rizzo, I believe most if not all defendants are Lopezes, Gomezes and other members of the SoCal Protected Hispanderer class.

The L.A. area has a long tradition of corrupt public officials. When they belong to national minority/local majority groups, they seldom face anything more serious than a tap on the wrist and a strongly worded reprimand. Solidarity, baby, no matter what the offense.

Trust me, these salaries pissed me off also are are indicative of our governmental problems. That being said, I get misuse of taxpayer funds if there is fraud involved, but "bloated salaries"? A neighbor of Hernandez told the Times authorities used a battering ram to break down his front door.

"They broke the door down," said the neighbor, who only gave his name as Jose. "They knocked down the door and they brought him out in cuffs."

I'd like to hear more about this.  Either Hernandez (one of the arrested eight, a city counsel member) refused to answer the door, in which case he's an idiot who deserves this, or this police force is using battering rams to execute white collar arrests.
