— Dave in Texas And it has nothing to do with the damned birth certificate.
It has everything to do with how he perceives America and the world. And I'll grant you, it's old, but hell, it's Sunday night.
Consider if you will, these two photographs:

and this one, a little more recent:

On the one hand, you have an American Army General, receiving the Emperor of Japan under his terms, having for four years spent precious American blood and treasure to bring a vicious aggressor under control, and then embarking on a seven year mission to rebuild their nation as a democracy, and a global partner.
Not to punish them. The fight was the punishment. And it was punishing, and it was just. To defeat them first, to change them secondly, and then, remarkably to embrace them.
On the other hand, you have the leader of the greatest nation in the free world, meeting the leader of our partner nation, an ally, one bound to us by our conscious and active efforts after their destructive perfidy, to make them one of us on the globe, leaning down to kiss his ass as if we owed him an apology for having spent our treasure and blood to bring them into the fold.
I'm sure you see the problem.
MacArthur didn't pose for pictures for the press like a ninny, he knew exactly the message he would telegraph by foregoing the tie, just regular khakis, hell, even his hands "casually" placed in his back pockets. Towering over the Emperor who was attired in his resplendent best "ambassador-like" threads. Mac was sending a message. He did that, he was Mac.
Obama sent a message too, and I'll bet you a paycheck he had no friggin idea what it was. "I should suck up. There's something fundamentally wrong with us, and it'll look good if I acknowledge it right here and now."
He's embarrassed about one of our greatest and most costly accomplishments to mankind, and the nations. Because he is a ninny.
My thoughts upon reading Mark Davis' twitter post and Wes Pruden's article linked in the tweet.

Right on! I'll grant Obama was born here, but he wasn't raised as an American. He got a third-world mentality of America and it has jaded him about this place ever since. He wants us to be humbled out of revenge.

I'm not sure Obama can stand the nation he leads.
Nope. Not until he can create it into the Communist utopia he's envisioned.
I rarely agree with Dick Morris but I remember watching him a month after the Inauguration on O'Reilly. He said to wait and watch. Obama didn't care about being reelected. His only mission was the transform the nation and he never anticipated he'd be able to do that and carry out a second term. Gave me chills.
He was right.

It's been said before, but I've come to the conclusion that Dear Leader has a strong dislike of America. He was raised by his commie mom and grandparents, spent his formative years in Indonesia and went to college (as a foreign exhange student?) associating with every far-leftist he could find.
He sees his mission as breaking the back of America since it is not "fair" that America is wealthy.

Hundreds of thousands were killed by Jap germ warfare in WW II
"Chinese, American, and other Western physicians who have examined the survivors, documented their histories, and photographed their wounds claim that they are victims of the most gruesome biological warfare attacks in modern history.
"These attacks, orchestrated by JapanÂ’s infamous Unit 731 between
1932 and 1945, are the only documented mass use of germ weapons in
modern times.
"Scholars say that we will never know exactly how many
were killed. Sheldon H. Harris, the late American historian, estimated
in a pioneering work that between 10,000 and 12,000 Chinese prisoners
perished in the bloodcurdling experiments that Unit 731 performed in
Japanese-occupied Manchuria. Another 300,000 to 500,000 civilians died,
he wrote, as a result of JapanÂ’s massive germ assaults on more than 70
Chinese cities and towns.
"China itself has disclosed no official tally. In fact, for many years, Japan’s use of biological weapons in China was largely forgotten. Only recently has a resurgent China begun to remind Japan—and the world—of the atrocities."

MacArthur was a brilliant strategist, physically courageous, and a genuine ass
who was correctly fired for insubordination. Surprisingly, he was also a very gifted writer.
From his farewell address at West Point.
The shadows are lengthening for me now. The twilight is here. My days of old have vanished- tones and tints. They have gone glimmering through the dreams of things that were. Their memory is one of wondrous beauty, watered by tears, and coaxed and caressed by the smiles of yesterday.
Spectacular, even the bit cribbed from Lord Byron.

The overall lack of defending basic American interests.
Someday, this man will no longer be President of the United States. But the after-effects of his presidency will have a lasting negative affect that nothing can wash away. The people that believe in his (false) ideas, will forever use his presidency to continue to justify the same nonsense. The so-called intellectuals of the Left will continue to use him as a shining example. You will know them by the tools that they use..

The author was Patrick OBrian and he's been gone for some time:
Patrick O'Brian, CBE(12 December 1914 – 2 January 2000), born Richard Patrick Russ, was an English novelist and translator, best known for his Aubrey–Maturin seriesof novels set in the Royal Navyduring the Napoleonic Warsand centred on the friendship of English Naval Captain Jack Aubreyand the Irish–Catalan physician Stephen Maturin. The 20-novel series is known for its well-researched and highly detailed portrayal of early 19th century life, as well as its authentic and evocative language. A partially-finished twenty-first novel in the series was published posthumously containing facing pages of handwriting and typescript.

A FATHER'S PRAYER
Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himslef when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.
Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge.
Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.
Build me a son whose heart will be clear, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.
And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.
Then I, his father, will date to whisper, "I have not lived in vain."

That's unbelievalbe while being totally believable. At UW Asians aren't considered a minority. When they do their census Asians are counted as white and only blacks, latino's and native americans are considered minoritys. If they counted Asians minorities would actually be the majority at UW and their social engineering programs would be damaged.

It boiled down to the idea that we had a right to seek revenge against Afghanistan but not Iraq. What they never got was that it wasn't about revenge. Neither one. That's how they think. It's all about "social justice." Settling scores, revenge for the past.
They're old generals, always fighting the last war.

Amish- and they are pretty silent on Pakistan and strikes in Yemen. I believe they didn't really have a problem with war after 9-11 (i remember the polls)
what they had a need of was destroying a President that wasn't on their team , so they could take over next elections. hell with anything but their drive for total power.

The Indonesian Imbecile is worse than any America-hating American would be because he is not bound by the subconscious ties to our culture that the others are. Shrillary wishes she were a radical marxist shitrag (and she's damn close) but she would never think to do things, such as push our legislative process to the point of failure in order to shove health scare through (and we know this because of what Shrillary actually did with health scare) and no one would dare follow her into that political abyss, either. It is the foreign nature of the Indonesian Imbecile (and the utter contempt he holds us, our society, and our institutions in) that makes him far more dangerous that any lunatic left American would be. And his skin is the cherry on top. The MFM and most dems and cowardly conservatives cannot get past the skin, and think that he needs to be treated in special ways, with kid gloves, because of that - as the traitor goes on to destroy everything in his path that has even the scent of America. The race-baiting that is always in the background, and brought up without a moment's hesitation whenever the idiocy and treasonous nature of the Indonesian Imbecile is once again displayed, is the standing threat that puts this nation truly at risk. Death by white guilt and the burning hate of a third world retard who America selected, while in the throes of a psychotic break brought on by the credit crisis, to be the instrument of this great nation's voluntary suicide. It's sad and pathetic.

looks like South Korean president has more blls than the Marxist.
seems this is the last warning before a retaliation, war.
"From South Korea's president Lee Myung-bak: "If our territorial waters, airspace or territory are violated, we will immediately exercise our right of self-defense. Under these circumstances, any inter-Korean trade or other cooperative activity is meaningless. I solemnly urge the North Korean authorities to do the following. Apologize immediately to the Republic of Korea and the international community. Immediately punish those who are responsible for and those who are involved in the incident" "

you know, this whole thing scares me, the world sees its open season on America, in my biz, I have some immigratants (they are naturalized citizens) who work for me, and they were telling me, that the image of a foreign statesman condemning American from the American Congressional Chamber, with 1/2 the govt clapping, this image will burn into America's allies and enemies. These collegues of mine, because they still have family abroad, and they were raised outside America, they have a very unique perpesctive, and what they were telling me is true, America is not seen as strong under that bowing apologizer in chief.

Was watching "The History of US" at my daughter's request. They had the gall to insinuate that the Japs bombing Pearl Harbor was no different than the guerilla-like tactics the American militia used against the British in the Revolutionary War. Uh,.. how about, just for starters, THEY KNEW THEY COMBATANTS FIGHTING A FUCKING WAR?
And then when noted historians such as Meryl Streep and Michael Douglas showed up for their talking head commentaries on the precedings, I screamed, "Why the hell am I watching this utter crap?" and stormed upstairs to soothe myself in a bath of moronocity.

Whether you want to accept it or not, look at your partner/lover/significant other/soul mate what have you; you have LOTS in common with that person. Particularly when it comes to perceptions, beliefs, mindsets, likes, dislikes and what keeps you going.
They've been together for awhile in a public and vicious occupation that requires a couple to compete effectively. They also went to the same church and listened to the same 'Reverend' who 'goddamned' the United States for 20 years.
They do not perceive America as it was born to be a good place and see only the bad parts of the country. Along with their belief in Communism/Socialism it is inevitable that they feel the need to apologize and ask forgiveness of the rest of the world (except for the white Europeans) for America being so superior and so rich.
In their mind our success has come at the expense of 'people of color' and not by dint of any hard work by 'privileged white folk'.
I have to say that Obama HAS kept his promise of 'fundamentally changing America'. Trouble is too many people didn't bother to find out what he ACTUALLY MEANT before voting for him.
It's similar to those Twilight Zone episodes where the devil bargains for someone's soul and somehow what they ask for isn't what they actually get because the 'Devil is in the details'.
Our devil for the next 2.7 years is Barack Hussein Obama and the most immediate real danger is after the Democrats get voted out of office in November, do you really think they will restrain themselves from enacting more destructive legislation when they're lame ducks?

Every time Obama shows up on television (which is all the time because he's a narcissist and his bff's in the media all love to see him), I mute the sound and watch his movements, gestures, head swiveling, and most especially the look of contempt on his face. He hates everyone, I don't think he particularly cares for the people to whom he is close. He has a perpetual sneer on his face.
As president, he gets to take out his hate on all of us.

"And it has nothing to do with the damned birth certificate."
That "certificate" may not be what concerns you. But it would be foolish to feign that a point of origin does not affect the trajectory. Both of Obama's parents were not US citizens, failing the "natural born citizen" constitutional requirement. Ever note how little the Constitution references immigration requirements? This one blatant stipulation is not to be legitimately dismissed out of hand. BTW, don't ignore the other Constitutional stipulation denying anyone national public office, whether appointed or elected office, who protects saboteurs, enemies of the state. The Clinton and Obama protection of the SDS and specifically the rehabilitation of Bill Ayers' public image DISQUALIFIES them from national office without a 2/3 Congressional vote per each point of contact to be dismissed.
Who here did not read of Obama's father prior to voting Barry into office? Obama fulfills the Marxist dreams of his father, there is no surprise. Just bitter disappointment that "moderate" voters were stupid enough to swallow "we can believe in" as their own hope. For those who never bothered reading Barak Obama's Kenyan government published report, Barry's father endorsed 100% taxation in order to "provide" more Marxist government to the people.
Perhaps the general public will come to realize from their own hardships produced through Obama's administration's trajectory that the moral of the story is to refute "reform" because what we NEED is "constructionist" ENFORCEMENT OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAW rather than the socialist precedences smothering our American ideal.
Yes, I said it. OUR American Ideal. E pluribus unum is the opposite of Obama's "unity through diversity". So far as 70% of Americans are concerned, Obama's adminstration replicates the opposite of Our American Ideal.

One of these things is not like the other. The society that produced the Pearl Harbor attacks is stone-cold dead. It was incompatible with modernity, defeated utterly, and really doesn't hold sway, as Japan underwent a radical attitude overhaul.
The society that produced 9/11, on the other hand, is very much alive and still operating. When is its adjustment coming?
And Seattle, abject grovel != respect, either for oneself, others, or the people one purports to represent.
