I can't believe that you missed the opportunity to put him in a "wife-beater" instead of a regular t-shirt.

If Frank Sinatra were President, within two years he would have been hanging from a DC lightpole, and the Kennedys would have been sent to prison. Humphrey would have been the savior of the last half of the 20th century, and Nixon would have eaten Kissinger.

Best use of the term worm for me was when David Duke called Michael Kinsley a worm on Crossfire. Kinsley found it unfathomable anyone would call him a worm. David Duke was correct.

Lightbulb bill aimed at asserting state rights
In proposing that Arizona become the national epicenter of incandescent-lightbulb manufacturing, the Tucson Republican (State Rep. Frank Antenori) hopes to provoke a fight with Washington, D.C., over states' rights and interstate trade.
Of course Dems in the state legislature are not at all pleased by the prospect of goading Uncle Sugar just when they need his help most in ensuring that the bloated state payrolls can continue to be met at currently unsustainable levels.
"We have more pressing matters," Rep. Chad Campbell, D-Phoenix, said during debate. The various bills and resolutions that seek to irritate the federal government are counterproductive, especially as the state grapples with a fiscal crisis, he said.
In another article:
The light bulb bill was approved by the Commerce Committee by a 5-1 vote. Rep. Chad Campbell, a Phoenix Democrat, said he was tired of the constant attempts by Republican lawmakers to limit federal regulation in the state.
“If there’s enough people down here who feel that way, let’s put it all in a bill and secede from the Union,” he said.
Heh.

Yikes! That is not only sooo ghey looking, it is also really expensive--4,000 pounds or between 3500-3900 Euruos. It only goes about 6.2 miles on a charge. This whole green movement is such a scam. The other day, I got a letter from my power company asking me if I'd like to "go green" and pay an extra 10-12.50 dollars a month. Every bill includes a flyer with this "opportunity", so why they are wasting money with another mass mailing is beyond me. (I was green when I threw it away in the recycle).

Wow, if a state did continue to make incandescent bulbs after the federal ban takes effect (thank you George Bush--NOT!) They could make a freaking killing. I'm sure it would be illegal to sell such bulbs across state lines, but there would be an huge incandescent bulb black market. I would love for a state to challenge the feds on this--although I know it won't be my state--fricking WA, home of the Greeniwhacks.

Kinsley only ever wrote one article: "Republicans Are Hypocrites". If you read the New Republic during Clinton's first term, that's what you had waiting for you every other week. It was a tic as predictable as Paglia's "as a blahblahblah, I..." self-credentialing and as Goldberg's apologising for his own arguments in, e.g., Liberal Fascism. It really should have been a drinking game.
As a side effect, which I seriously doubt he intended, Kinsley sent the message that the Republican ideal was awesome and that Republicans should try harder at meeting it.
So that's Michael Kinsley: the own-goal champion of the Beltway Liberal Soccer League.

That is hilarious.

The Dems will probably do this in other states as well for both House and Senate races. It may be enough to keep them with a slight majority in both houses.
