Additional Arrests Made In Times Square Bomb Plot
— DrewM

Probably just some home grown Mennonites.

Federal agents conducted Thursday morning raids in Massachusetts and New York in connection with the failed Times Square car bomb, and two people were arrested, federal authorities and witnesses said.

The searches were the product of evidence gathered in the investigation into Faisal Shahzad's alleged bombing attempt two weeks ago, but there was "no known immediate threat to the public or any active plot against the United States," FBI spokeswoman Gail Marcinkiewicz said.

Marcinkiewicz would not confirm any addresses, but police cordoned off a small house in Watertown, a suburb about 10 miles west of Boston, and a neighbor reported seeing an FBI raid there.

A Mobil gas station in Brookline, another Boston suburb, also was raided. The entrances and exits to the station were cordoned off by yellow tape, and FBI agents were going in and out of the building. Agents also searched a silver Honda in the parking lot, removing items from the vehicle and loading material into an SUV.

The two that have been arrested are being held on immigration violations, which is clearly racist.

95 Michelle Malkin said this was partly Bush's fault, because these Pakistanis overstayed their visas by seven years. As someone with experience here, the government just tells you to leave the country ASAP. You are banned by a certain date. Whether you leave or not is up to you. If you want to lawfully reenter the US, you must comply. If you want to break the law and remain, you can never leave the country again. That's just the rules. Not Bush's fault that these accomplices decided they were just fine with breaking the law and remaining here illegally. Unless she feels Bush should have conducted raids like Woodrow Wilson.

I have a small problem. I have a man (boss) who wants me to design a golf putter. Something new and improved. I don't know jack about golf, and there is only so much you can do to a chunk of cast or forged flat sided metal on the end of a stick. Anyone have any suggestions as to what makes a great putter, and what doesn't? I'm open to suggestions, especially snarky ones.

Bwhahaha!  I am still shocked by the number of mind-numbed, koolaid drinking Obamabots that still think he's doing a great job.  This one particular guy (who retired early--before 60 and is living on his investments) just kills me.  He is all excited about Obamacare because both he and his retired wife (she's still 50 something) had to buy their own catastrophic health plan since they are too young to be covered by Medicare.  He's been bitching about all the money he's lost in his investments lately and constantly launching tirades on the greedy bankers and how Bush allowed them to get away with murder because he didn't regulate them.  When I point out that Bush and the Repubs. tried to rein in Freddie and Fannie (one of the main causes of the financial crisis) the Dems rebuffed them, and the current Dodd Bill doesn't do anything to regulate them, he either pooh poohs me or walks away.  It's just astounding.  That Obama Koolaid is some strong stuff.

Heh!  As we all know, Nashville was a Confederate stronghold, so the flooding is just a little cosmic karma for its role in the Civil War.  It's full of racist, bitter clinging white people.  They deserve it.  And as for the oil spill, that's BP's fault.  They made the mess, now they need to clean it up.  So someone get them a bunch of mops.  Even if I intervened, someone would complain that I wasn't holding the mop right or that I was using a socialist mop.  Really nothing for me to do in either situation.  Besides, my short game needs some work.

The putter needs to have a GIS program built in which will read the topography and speed of the green and project the required putting line between the ball and the hole.

After you've lined the putter up correctly, it will project a second red line BEHIND the ball that will show you exactly how far to draw back the putting blade. If you deviate from the line as you draw back or if you get out of tempo, the lines will momentarily disappear, warning you to stop and start over again.

The handle will have (1) a built in, high pitched dog whistle to alert (only) you if you start to flip your wrists, and (2) a pop-out, razor sharp, retractable switchblade for slashing at stuff when you miss an easy putt.

Hurts like hell.  The Israelites used that to their advantage when Dinah's brothers avenged her rape: they told the men of Shechem that they'd let their rapist prince marry their sister and indeed merge their two tribes if the men of Shechem all agreed to be circumcised.  They did, and while they were laid up, two of Dinah's brothers slaughtered the men of Shechem.

I have no idea why, when Mohammed essentially adapted Judaism into his own new religion, he decided to fix the day of circumcision at 8 years instead of 8 days.

No, no, no.  She wants the bad guys to be Regular Americans because then she can understand their motivation, they're identifiable and can be rounded up more easily, without fear of having to use racial profiling.  When the bad guys turn out to be Pakistani immigrants, that means that (a) they really are motivated by religious fanaticism and blind hatred of America, (b) they're blended in with all of the other Pakistani and Middle Eastern and other Muslim immigrants like needles in a haystack, and (c) ethnic profiling just might have to play a role in how to find and fight them.  That (a), (b) and (c) are so intolerable for a Liberal that they'd really rather all terrorists were "homegrown Regular Americans."

I did cancel our upcoming family trip to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon, though.

No need to see that when you can see it at home.

Hawaii will have to suffice this year.

Yeah right.  Whatever.

Going to sail there, are you?  Because it would be irresponsible of you to rape your Mother Earth by flying or cruising there.

At University Cafe in Glasgow, Scotland, you can get ANYTHING deep-fried -- bring it in and they'll fry it.  The menu already includes deep-fried Mars bars, deep-fried pizza, deep-fried pickles and deep-fried pickled eggs, along with the fish and chips, of course.

Just for you, I just lit a pile of mesquite in the grill to cook up some poke chops stuffed with cajun sausage 2" thick, and made a great hot bbq dipping sauce, cobbed corn, baked potato (loaded) and cornbread, can't wait to eat.

Thanks, Nam!  You made my mouth water, seriously!  That sounds absolutely luscious!

Hey when we all going to fly out to Nam's house for a BBQ?  Forget Moronpalooza (remember that pipedream?)  Let's all go to LA!  I'll bring a pie (not shoo-fly!)

Scabby Dick?

Andrew Gilchrist
Thursday 22 January 2004
The Guardian

It is Burns Day this Sunday and a good many Scots will be honouring the world's greatest bard with a trip to the chippie for the world's greatest fast food: the deep-fried haggis. Shaped like the sort of thing cavemen employed to swat woolly mammoths, and sporting a threadbare coat of batter that is rarely crisp and never golden, the deep-fried haggis, affectionately nicknamed the scabby dick, is a foodstuff so greasy that if you drop it you may never pick it up.  Indeed, so densely packed is this Everest of endurance eating that few people have ever managed to finish a whole one. It lands in your stomach like a felled tree. Attach a handle to either end and the police could use it to break down doors. When John Hurt's stomach blew open in Alien, the first thought north of the border was that he had tried to eat two.

The deep-fried haggis has a few things in common with the traditional haggis. In general, both begin with oatmeal and spices plus the heart, liver and lungs of sheep, which, as you will no doubt agree, already sounds delicious. But whereas the traditional model gets packed into a sheep's stomach and boiled, the deep-fried haggis takes an altogether different route: from the freezer to the frier to the fat cells - a journey that is now more Scottish than the road to the isles or the west highland way.

Would Burns have disapproved? Would he have seen deep-fried haggis as a symbol of the debasement of a once-rich culture? This is, after all, the country that gave the world the anaesthetic and golf (although many would say they are the same thing). Perhaps. But Rabbie was a punk. Chances are he would have stood in a chippie queue and thought: "In truth, it's from scenes such as these that auld Scotia's grandeur springs eternal."

Say, I bet that in your line of work you've seen and handled both uncircumcised and circumcised genitalia of both genders.  That makes you one of the few people here who knows the subject from personal observation.  Tell us, how would you compare male circumcision to female circumcision in terms of tissue loss and alteration of anatomy and function?

I actually think that circumcision improves the aesthetic appearance of a man's um, appendage.  I don't think it's disfiguring like a woman's.  Female circumcision can leave women with functional problems later as well that can require corrective surgery.

Dear Governor Christie,

Hi, it's me again: the problem. I just wanted to let you know that you're tone is setting a bad example for the children. As adults, we need to show the children how to resolve issues as adults.

As adults, we don't argue and call names. We don't act ignorant and bigoted. And we don't lie to advance our agenda. Children need to see their leaders act responsibly and not play the blame game. Shouting and acting like a lunatic is no way to govern, Mr Governor.

When you stand there all fat and blubbery in front of the microphone and lie about 'taxes' and 'too much spending' and all that other crap, it sends the wrong signal to the children.

You wasn't elected to push a Republican agenda or help your white friends. You were elected to run state services. Stop giving the legislature a hard time, Governor, and let them do there jobs of making laws. And stop being mean-spirited to state employees. The people of New Jersey didn't elect a tyrant, they elected a governor. Try to be a good governor...for the children.

296 Immigration is a federal matter

Right until the federal line is "were not going to secure your border and you need to get used to that"

Then a sovereign state is well within it's rights to provide for it's own security; if the federal government abdicates its responsibility.

Well, the Waimea Canyon on Kauai is pretty impressive.  They call it the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

I just don't see how Snappy can get its family over there without a MASSIVE carbon footprint.  I look forward to Obama getting his Cap and Trade plan through Congress: that should make it virtually illegal for private citizens to travel to and from Hawaii.

Growing up in Camden NJ during the 60's I kind of took pride in the fact that Camden was included  on the FBI's top ten list of major crimes per capita. That was Camdens only claim to fame I thought. I realized many years later after living in FL that FBI list was basically for assholes. Then with the wonder of the intertubes I found an article in 2004 that stated t Camden had beaten out Detroit for the highly coveted 'Most dangerous city in the USA title'My reaction was and idea of selling 'We're #1' T-shirts on the steps of city hall just to rub elected officials nose in their federally funded Dodge City full of scumbags. Now today I see Camden mentioned in national news in relation to the Times Square bombing attempt WTF? Gov.Christie is slapping these people straight in this state and I hope my once beautiful city that fell victim to Johnson/Moyers Great fuckin Society fuckin train loads of casharama fuckin dealio bullshit programs could at least die a better fate thet Detriots commune style urban farm shit! http://tinyurl.com/2894up2
