This morning I heard Obama is gonna create a Bank of Innovation but I couldn't find any more details on it.

I'm speculating here but I think it's gonna be a bank...for innovation funding nonsense for people who have no intention of paying back the loans.

So they're not really loans...which makes it not really a bank.

Muzzies don't own all the ground for their mosque

The developers of the controversial mosque proposed near Ground Zero own only half the site where they want to construct the $100 million building, The Post has learned.

One of the two buildings on Park Place is owned by Con Edison, even though Soho Properties told officials and the public that it owns the entire parcel. And any potential sale by Con Ed faces a review by the state Public Service Commission.

68 From the Politico item:

Passing a stand-alone border bill eliminated a bargaining chip for Democrats, they said.

Republicans won't consider any measures other than those that boost enforcement. And since Democrats do not have the numbers to move a comprehensive overhaul on their own, they are trying to meet Republican demands Â— in hopes that the GOP will accede to a broader reform early next year.

73 Also from Politico:

“If the Democrats try to feed the beast of enforcement that Republicans seem to be fixated on, they are never going to satiate that appetite,” said Angela Kelley, vice president for immigration policy and advocacy at the Center for American Progress. “I donÂ’t know if Schumer thinks this is the candy that coaxes them back to the table, but itÂ’s sort of like my fourth grader Â— there is never enough candy in the world to make her happy.”

--What is hilarious is that she is using metaphors that are far more applicable to the immigration/leftist/big government beast.

F for diction.

106 Freddie Mac Posts $6 Billion Quarterly Loss: http://bit.ly/dumbf8   Troubled US mortgage firm Freddie Mac reported Monday a second quarter net loss of six billion dollars and sought another 1.8 billion dollars from the Treasury to contain the red ink.

The government-backed company said its strategies to boost business and “sustainable homeownership” were taking hold but cited high unemployment posing “very real challenges” for the already embattled housing market.

Freddie Mac suffered a 6.009 billion dollar net loss attributable to common stockholders in the April-June period from a loss of 7.980 billion dollars in the first quarter and 840 million dollars in the year ago period.

Group of high school students attempting to sing the National Anthem at Lincoln Memorial stopped by park police: http://fxn.ws/b6ifku

U.S. Park Police confirmed that the students were in violation of federal law and their impromptu performance constituted a demonstration in an area that must remain “completely content neutral.”

“The area they were standing in and singing is an area that is restricted for this type of activity,” said Sgt. David Schlosser. “The United States Park Police is absolutely content-neutral when it comes to any sort of demonstrations in these areas.”

BTW, the answer is that there's little room on a starship for the equipment they'd need to mine and mill metals -- not to mention the time it would take to set up the equipment and make the metal.  Far easier to use stone as a readily available, ready-to-use material.

I mean, how jobs did THAT create or save?

183 I've been clicking, reading, and commenting like a monkey on crack.  Good thing they're doing that study.

Why wouldn't they have heavy loading equipment?  It's certainly more compact than mining and metal refining equipment.  Petroleum refining or biomass conversion equipment would make sense for refuelling -- or specialized mining equipment for extracting uranium -- but I can't see them bringing along steel mills unless they planned to stay a while and build permanent settlements.  Anyone find any permanent alien settlements?

185 Posted by: White House intern at August 09, 2010 06:40 PM (7AOgy) See, the thing is: on the one hand, you're positing an incredibly advanced civilization that can warp space itself - something requiring incredible amounts of energy - and on the other, you're pleading that these super advanced beings would be subject to the same technological limitations we are when we load up a space shuttle. IF such a civilization could actually cross interstellar space, I wouldn't think transporting an entire building straight from their world to ours should be such a big thing.

187 Wonderful photos over on the sidebar .  Weird to think of my dad as one of those skinny kids in 1940 .
The one of the black family choppin' cotton was my dads family to a T , well , except for the lack of pigmentation .  In the fall my dad's people (they lived in town ) used to make the trek back  to the family farm to help their people get the cotton harvest in .
Imagine that , white folks pickin' cotton in addition to their "high payin' " town job .
It's what they did , I mean ,when they weren't terrorising  Cornell West and Chuck Wrangel's daddies .
My aunt and uncle kinda adopted a black orphan boy and kept him alive through the depression . Of course, he worked , hell , everyone worked and ,of course , they we're typical racist South Carolinians , bein' white and privileged and all .
Fuck You , Eric Holder , thus endeth my discussion on race .
