— Ace An unconventional candidate, to be sure.
Check out the video in the upper right.
It's odd, but the media is portraying it as worse than it is. Greene was trying to drown out their interview of his brother by howling "Nooooooo! Goooooooo!" Okay, weird. But his point was clear: He was trying to ruin their interview after already having asked them to depart his property. (Well, his dad's, or whoever's.)
So... Okay, yeah it's weird. I guess I'm just noting that the media has finally found a Democrat they can really go after, and they're doing so because they want him out of the race so a Democrat with a chance of winning may enter in his place.
I guess this is really a persnickety claim of bias: yeah, the howling like an animal isn't exactly normal.
You know what? Forget my attempt to make some greater point. It's just weird, that's what it is.

I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but I knew a guy who acted that way once.
He'd had a head injury. Seriously.
Not that I'm defending Green or anything, but he may have a real reason for his behavior.

Check out this idea based on Kelo at American Thinker. Look, if the proggies want to play by the rules we have, the let's play by them. Remember Ace's brilliant post about the oil spill and how Katrina changed the rules, making the spill Barry's problem? How forcing Bush to own Katrina makes Barry own the gulf spill?
The proggies should be forced to drink the poison of Kelo if the rest of us have to drink it as well.

Mr Alvin Greene, that's with an E making him a African-African, is a very smart man surrounded by illiterate crackers trying to make him out to be an idiot. The white devils still be wearin' the sheets and burning crosses, but Mr. Greene, that's with the E, is a black man of honor, dignity, and intestinal fortitude the way he has stood up to all the white crackers.

stolen from Hot Air
Greene is “usually capable of handling mundane tasks with supervision” but is “not able to adapt to any changes to daily routine,” the reviewer wrote, also noting that Greene had received multiple disciplinary actions for failing to perform his duties.
Greene was also written up for posting sensitive information on a military Internet server, a mistake that resulted in a three-day work stoppage. Records showed Greene was kept at Shaw while the rest of his unit deployed after leadership “recognized his inability to contribute to the wartime mission.”…
The reviewer also wrote Greene “required a daily to-do list” to
perform basic duties and had a “consistent inability to follow
instructions or maintain basic job knowledge.” Most seriously, the
reviewer wrote that Greene would represent
“a threat to others” because of his inability to grasp the basics of military training.
In additional comments, the reviewer said she would not recommend Greene for promotion but did note his community service work and fundraising efforts for a holiday party. “While Alvin is a decent person, he lacks the basic skills necessary for promotion,” the summary said.

Alvin Greene has a right to walk around that university library and find people reading porn magazines. Mr. Greene asked the young lady to accompany him back to his place for a counseling session, in the great tradition of Jesse Jackson who also gave religious teachings to misguided young women.

I'll credit him with enlisting, I'll even credit him with not serving dishonourably but he is about as competent as barney Fife in a time of war....that discharge was a pretty strong rebuke....SCANG essentially said, "no Al really we're better off without you this trip".....
that is a HUGE step given how desperate the branches are for force density numbers.

they're basically saying he's a retard...
Greene is “usually [usually, not all the time] capable of handling mundane [the simplest of...] tasks with supervision [with an adult present to hold his hand].”
So even with supervision, Alvin still couldn't perform janitor duties. Not really an asset to the Air Force, was he?

I mean i enlisted and served as honorably as i could, got hurt on my first contract pretty bad couldn't walk without a cane for a bit....point is my discharge says Medical Endured Prior to Service Service Aggravated. It is considered a step above a general discharge.
"Honorable" Discharge means you served your entire term with no UCMJ actions over an article 15 and good service.
Honorable
To receive an honorable discharge, a service member must have received a rating from good to excellent for their service. Service members who meet or exceed the required standards of duty performance and personal conduct, and who complete their tours of duty, normally receive honorable discharges. However, one need not complete a term of service to receive an honorable discharge, provided the reason for involuntary discharge is not due to misconduct. For instance, a person rendered physically or psychologically incapable of performing assigned duties will normally have their service characterized as honorable, regardless of whether the condition or disability was incurred in the line of duty, provided they otherwise exceeded standards.
An honorable discharge can, on rare occasions, be granted to a former service member (whose service was characterized as less than honorable) as an act of clemency, should that person display exemplary post-service conduct and show evidence of outstanding post-service achievement in areas such as education and employment.
Marines must have a proficiency and conduct rating of 3.0/4.0 or higher to receive an honorable discharge. Proficiency and conduct ratings below the threshold of 3.0/4.0 is evidence in itself of a diversion from Marine Corps high standards and will be used against a Marine at discharge.
So again it is not denigrating him to say "honorable might be a stretch", if his command was punitive in seeking discharge he may not have gotten it and would need to apply for an upgrade.

Has to be. Because there's no way he'd make it out of the recruiter's office the way he is now. So maybe Alvin did serve honorably for a few years and then turned idiot.

Saying it was a huge step getting rid of him when the force is hot for force density doesn't mean they are hurting for recruits...that is a unit number not a forcewide one....
and I've seen people missing kidneys and a guy with a broken back get forced to go by their unit surgeon's saying "I will maintain constant and vigilant oversight of the soldier's condition their presence is mission vital."
Hell one of my soldiers' subordinates was given a no teeth article fifteen for popping hot again because of Unit Force density metrics...

Seriously, what I love about that interview is how uncomfortable the self imagined "journalist" doing must feel while doing it.
I mean, he probably imagines himself as being in the mold of Edward R. Murrow. He'll be the voice and consience of the country, comforting the afflicted, and afflicting the comfortable. News scoops that lead to pulitzer prizes are what he dreams of...
And what does he actually find himself doing? Standing in the rain with soggy tennis shoes on, in the middle of a soggy, overgrown lawn talking with Alvin Greene's brother, while his purported interview subject is howling and wailing ... "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Man, after that interview, I think that guy went home, poured himself a nice glass of white wine and wept to himself while soaking in a hot bath. Was probably chanting "Calgon, take me away... at the same time too."

77 No way he could make it out of the recruiter's office? Dude, did we serve in the same military? Hey, some of the guys and gals are good people -- but they are functionally illiterate. My husband had to help a guy try to understand the Article 15 he was up on...dude couldn't read. My daughter had a guy in her squad that had to have his duty assignment repeated to him three times...and he still messed up.

Private Dude Can't Read: "NOOOOOOO!!!! GOOOOOOOO!!!"
Captain Jane: *sigh* "Sergeant, escort this man back to the company day room and explain to him what all this means..." *pops an asprin...pops a second asprin*

Hey, Alvin is getting a bit of raw deal here imho.
Alvin did at least serve and has not denigrated the military (cough, Kerry, cough, Murtha)
Alvin at least had the idea of increasing manufacturing to promote jobs (now how many Dems have subscribed to that idea, huh?)
Alvin showed dirty pictures to an adult coed, but he did ask her to come back to his room rather than forcing himself on her (in other words, Alvin did not get her drunk or roofie'd up and take her for a car ride, nor did he turn her into a coed sandwich).
Seriously, Alvin is like one of the most honorable canidates the Dems have come up with in a long time...and the Dems are siccing their media lapdogs on him. Coincidence? I think not!

People disregarding his service to the country should be careful. Living the daily grind of a world where all of your 'Rights" are voided upon entry is tough, whether you win any medals or not. Just dealing with that for 7 years makes him better able to deal with the idiocies of Gov't than most people running.
