GWB responded to that the week of his book release. When asked why he prematurely departed the Afghan theater, he replied that NATO took it upon themselves to replace us there, and that their troops didn't much like fighting.

Truly, I don't know why they even bother to have a military, to the extent that what they have now can be called that. There are islands of excellence, but for most of them, the military seems to be an embarrassment and a throwback.

Hyeh, Frank, but give them points for consistency: they've loved it (and grown their own) for, like, 3500 years. Health tip: henna is a fungicide, and repels many hair-dwelling pests. So they do have that going for them.

Once having read, though, it's hard to forget Raymond Chandler's description of a piano bar in N.Hollywood, where a "male cutie with henna's hair tickled the keys lasciviously and sang 'Stairway to the Stars' in a voice with half the steps missing..."

Kind of puts you right off henna, there. Also? It smells like horseshit. AWWT.

29 It's a great video, and God Bless the Troops. I just hope we're not asking our men to fight a war that we don't have the fortitude to stick out to the bitter end... I don't one ANY family of a slain soldier, or any wounded or maimed vet, to ever wonder if it was worth their sacrifice for a lost cause.
