As an artist, I have to say
— CAC

that this is like bacon for your eyeballs: Demplosion Scenario color-enhanced
and my best work yet.

This is the actual doomsday map with all seats in a simple 2-color schematic (instead of the shifting pattern I am using on most of my maps).
The specific shades of red and blue though have a fun effect courtesy of color psychology.

Stare at the beautiful, beautiful NuOhio and let your eyes drift.

Hue vibration baby.

Demplosion, baby.

Updated House Projection coming tomorrow, in 48 hours quite a few poll and funding numbers trickled out and there are some notable shifts from last time (showing Republicans gaining just 47 seats). Safe to say the Democrats' initial "firewall" is absolutely gone and they are working hard on sandbagging firewalls 3 4 and 5.

This map is the wishful thinking maximum gain scenario, but with folks at HuffPo predicting we are now halfway there (when they were all hemming and hawing just months ago we were looking at 25-30 seats)... it goes from 1 in 1000000 to 1 in 1000.

Part of that is Austin, or more properly, the People's Republic of Travis County.  It's where Californians go when they realize they can't afford to live in Denver.  The other bits have almost always been parts of the Democrat machine, from the days of Santos Benavides (1850's), Polly Rodriguez, Manuel B. Bravo forward...they have remained mostly Dem because of successful race baiting.

Why shouldn't a candidate be able to run for both seats at the same time? Shouldn't the top two vote-getter win, and not just the top vote getter for each separate race?

95 #99 Currently a shift of 13 more seats from tossup to GOP pickup. also another 20 seats added to the tossup status. over 100 seats legitimately in play. still a good 25-35 seats on top of that which are longshots but the money movements tip off these are even closer and may end up tossups on election day.

97 #103 On the Texas districts: one of those is TX 25, which is far lefty Lloyd Doggett.  You are right about all the liberals moving in.  However, that is only D+6 because there are a lot of conservatives in that district.  Texas has an early filing deadline, which came before Scott Brown's win, so the Republican establishment did not try and recruit a viable candidate.  If they had, I believe the district would be in play.

100 Mallamutt- My predictions are calculated off: PVI + generic ballot adv/statewide enthusiasm self-ID shift if applicable + polling +money flux. AZ-7 for example is a race that favors the incumbant, but the generic ballot eats into his advantage. Available polling confirms the eating in, and the money going into the race further indicates they are worried he can lose. Not strong enough to show a flip yet by any means, but certainly a tossup when all factors considered. It is VERY, VERY difficult to NAME the seats. Silver does. Cook does. I do. The Blogging Ceasar does, and the guys @ RCP peg individual races on their map.

Wipeout.

Be the wave.

102 Tease....we just need to get rid of the blotchy blue spots....I suggest Formula .308.  Or 30.06 in a pinch.

103 #115 As I posted a gajillion times on these all red maps, they are the best case scenario for us. you got it right on the money. My hardline prediction which shows flipping to GOP, tossups and the rest are going to be released roughly 3 times a week or if there is a MAJOR polling dump for the next 3 weeks. Senate once to twice a week as well.

104 So at the next State of the Union, how loud will the clapping be from the 27  & 1/2 democrat congressmen? Deafening i assure you.

105 #117 "1/2" democrat?" only if Kucinich doesn't get kidnapped by aliens first.

106 Kinda pissed off about that little chunk of Alabama with the apostates and stupid college students (wtf anyway, Alabama is a conservative school!) in it, we might have to expel them from this great state and let Massachusetts or Vermont or some other lib hellhole adopt them. CAC, I think it's safe to say that you just might possibly be off on that area of Alabama. I mean, if you have the all those other places painted red, can't we please make all of Alabama red? Please? It's a matter of state pride. *cries*

107 Also, North Carolina? You're on notice. "North," indeed.

108 Oh, oh, do promise us, CAC, you will do a "before" and "after" animated GIF, won't you. The Ewok has something up his sleeve. Fear not.

109 I guess walling up the blue precincts will likely prove cheaper than building a wall along the entire Mexican border. A few loudspeakers with country music blaring ought to do it.

110 The blue spot in Alabama is the gerrymandered area the Federal Government says must be given to the black democrat running for office.  Payment for being one of the slave states 150 years ago.

111 Ohio 10th District - Corrigan vs. Kucinich RCP...just added this race as "somewhat competitive" Democrats now down to 129 out of 255 on their charts as safe. TX27 (listed here) and PA13 (added in on the next update) have joined DENNIS KUCINICH.

112 Haven't read all of the comments but- Saw at work today on HLN a report that the lead Mexican investigator on the Falcon Lake shooting was killed and his severed head delivered to the Mexican military. Does anyone think this may affect some of the voting in the border districts. Three of the districts bordering the Falcon Lake area show blue currently in CAC's map. If this incident causes swings in theose districts then it may make an even larger wipeout.

119 My old drill sergeant used to talk about "having a case of the Natural Russian Red Ass".   Wonder how Fibbise, Axelrod and The Won are feeling right now?  You think they have a case of the "NRRA"?
