It's a little more bitingly personal and insulting than I'd like it but his basic point about double-standards and "tolerance romantics" is spot on. And it's some good pushback against the Religion of Ever-Escalating Demands.

28 I was in Austria about 7 or 8 years ago and the Turkish immigration/EU membership thing was just getting going. Every Austrian I met was vehemently opposed to both things at the time. I see not much has changed, except 8 years of in roads by those who want to see mass immigration.

French may be for romantic slurpy stuff, but German is for nailing someone's azz to the wall.

The crashing of the Euro is the best thing that could happen to Europe at this point in time. It's one thing to be politically correct when you believe your economy is in good shape. It's quite another to be politically correct when the economy crashes.

Kind of like Dan Rather's comment about selling watermelons. It wasn't really racist (who ever heard jokes about black people selling watermelons?), but you really don't try to associate blacks with watermelons in polite society.

Yes this fellow was speaking in university level Hoch Deutsch (High German).

But he was getting his licks in. German is a wonderful language for swear words. We've all heard the nasty Nazi spewing "Schweinehund"--literally pig dog.

But my own favorite--which I wish the fellow had pulled out on his fellow parliament member is "Schafshacker"--literally sheep's prick. That little muslim fellow traveler had it coming.

As for Tommylotto and his "Kristallnatch"--I think he's getting the engraved glass snatch he got last Christmas (because he wasn't getting any of the real stuff) with "Kristallnacht"--literally crystal night. So Tommy, go and play with your glass snatch. Don't cut yourself.

My maternal grandma emigrated from Burgenland in Austria before WW I, and became a proud American citizen who raised some good citizens.

She voted RELIGIOUSLY, and every election day got full turnout from her five children and eighteen grandchildren by calling them every hour on the hour to ask if they had been to the polls yet, because voting is a sacred thing that it is a duty to exercise.

She herself went after early Mass, then started working the phones. When I turned eighteen, it started ringing for me too--"Have you voted yet?"

She was tough, tender, remarkable and unwavering. I am so proud to be descended from her!

Austrians are not Germans, although they share a language (much as we do with the Brits, the Australians, etc), and no one is better at calling a spade a spade when enough is enough.
