— Ace Thank goodness we'll end all their complaining and make Al Qaeda like us again!
But the final irony is that many of the detainees may not even want to be transferred to Thomson and could conceivably even raise their own legal roadblocks to allow them to stay at Gitmo.Falkoff notes that many of his clients, while they clearly want to go home, are at least being held under Geneva Convention conditions in Guantánamo. At Thomson, he notes, the plans call for them to be thrown into the equivalent of a "supermax" security prison under near-lockdown conditions.
"As far as our clients are concerned, it's probably preferable for them to remain at Guantánamo," he says.
No, this doesn't mean "Oh we should send them to Illinois because that's tougher punishment." We should keep them where they are, where we can quarantine them from humanity until this war ends, without implicating the Constitution's more generous protective clauses.

As a person who suffered through six brutal winters in the Chicago 'burbs, those detainees will think they've died and gone straight to hell. Let's see.....wicked evil brutal cold winters versus balmy sea breezes.
Okay. Works for me. But only if libtards who voted for Teh Won get to clean up after the bastards and launder their prayer rugs.
Done!

It never really hit home until I watched the Crowder PJTV coverage of Gitmo: its a full-fledged military base, not the hellish little tree-less island I was lead to believe it was.
So, even I was taken in by the leftist/Obamaist lies.

C'mon, you mean after all the stink they would rather remain in a tropical paradise getting fat than go to a cold bleak Illinois Supermax with America's hardened heinous criminals ?
Get the f'ck out.

Clowncar Administration: OK we're closing Gitmo!
Terrorist vermin: YAY!
Clowncar Administration: You're going to Illinois!
Terrorist vermin: Illinois? Can't we go to Somalia or Yemen?

ParisParamus, Gitmo is a dream station by many military standards. And Gitmo is state-of-the-art. Hell, remember the new flat screen TV's they installed before Bush left office? They have classes in art, etc. All the place is missing for those unwashed d-bags is 72 virgins.
Sheesh. Glad I made it to the liquor store before it closed.

Maybe they've been watching those prison specials that MSNBC has on late at night and on the weekends and said:
" Ya' know what, f'ck that ! "

The U.S. Marshals Service is searching for three escaped federal prisoners, including a man from Chicago, who fled from the Tri-County Detention Center in Ullin in Southern Illinois. Officials would not give any details about the method by which the men escaped.
The three men, Miguel Robles-Moya, 35, of Chicago, Rodney Brown, 35, of Alton, Ill., and Thomas Glaab, 28, of Anna, Ill., are all considered armed and dangerous. The three escaped either late Tuesday night or early today, said U.S. Marshal Don Slazinik, Southern District of Illinois. They were wearing institutional jumpsuits at the time of their escape but have since discarded them.
Robles-Moya was held at the detention center on immigration charges. Rodney Brown was being held on federal charges as a felon in possession of a weapon and Glaab was held on charges of possession of methamphetamine.
The facility is county-owned and is staffed by contract workers, said U.S. Marshal Don Slazinik, Southern District of Illinois. County, state and federal prisoners are housed there.
State panel votes in favor of Illinois Gitmo plan
The TribuneÂ’s Clout Street blog reports: A panel of lawmakers voted today in favor of letting Gov. Pat Quinn close a little-used prison in northwestern Illinois so the Obama administration can use it to hold terrorism suspects now held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The 7-4 vote by the Illinois Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability was largely on party lines, with Democrats supporting the sale of the Thomson Correctional Center to the federal government and all but two Republicans opposed.
The vote was advisory and Quinn was expected to move ahead with the plan regardless.

No, it means we should keep them where they are, but "thrown into the equivalent of a "supermax" security prison under near-lockdown conditions." I'm sick and tired of spending millions of dollars every year coddling these terrorists. Fuck Amnesty International, fuck the Red Cross Crescent, and fuck the ACLU!
If Bush had had any balls, when the Supreme Circus ruled that these unlawful combatants were being denied their rights, Bush should have said "Sorry, Sparky, you don't have jurisdiction over Gitmo."
They shouldn't have been water-boarding the fucking terrorists, they should have been sulfuric-acid-boarding them. "How does that feel, mother-fucker? Still feel like cutting off civilian's heads? You do? Hey, Corporal: Hook the battery cables to this dick-wad's testicles. We'll find out if you have any pertinent information about future terrorist attacks."
But noooooo. They get their own prayer rugs, their own copy of the Koran, kosher meals, TV, games, and on and on and on. We need more Cool Hand Luke ("Boy, what we have here is a failure to communicate!") and less Mary Poppins ("A spoon full of sugar will help the medicine go down!"). They've got a lot better living conditions than I did when I was stationed in Korea.
How did the lunatics end up in charge of the asylum?

Are you being ironic, or do you mean halal? Actually, it would be cool to tell these demons that their food was humanely killed, and bless by a Joo, but I'm sure that would be deemed cruel and illegal...

You must be a liberal. Ever hear the phrase "Separation of Powers"? How about "Activist Courts"? "Legislating from the Bench"? Any of these sound familiar? You may want to read Mark Levin's Men in Black (on second thought, it has some big words; you may want to get the audio book version).
Our country is doomed.

Ya know I was actually thinking about this a while ago.... I saw a special on NGTV about an aging maximum security State prison in Michigan. The conditions would appear horrible to the average normal law abiding person....cold & rotton baloney sandwhiches on a styrofoam plate, living in fear of being raped frequently by aggressive african americans, 1 hour of fresh air per week, getting into fights and then getting throwin into solitary for a few day's at a time. Real nasty shit.
Short of my personal preference for slow torture followd by grotesque execution, these conditions seem like a perfect alternative for a country/society with no balls to deal with the worst criminals and terrorists. Keep them in these conditions for life.
Either recreate the conditions of the worst state penetentiry down at gitmo or let them mingle with the general population of these prisons here in the states. A much more humane way to deal with the problem overall. The state inmates would love some fresh muslim ass to explore.
Gitmo is a friggin country club. If they get shipped to the States, they will be sgregated and given the same cushy conditions they now recieve at gitmo. No fucking difference. The only way to make this a burden for them is to have them experience real prison life everyday untill they croak or get killed.
There is a reason why the Roman Empire lasted as a form of a Rebublic with a polyglot mixture of people for almost 500 years. They dealt with this shit appropriately. This country will be lucky to last another 50-100 years if we keep this nonsense up.
Additionaly.... while I am at it...
.... I am convinved that zero is the manchurian candidate. If you ever had to create the perfect individule to invade the executive branch in order to destroy the country from within, then zero is it. But now I am letting paranoid conspiricy theories get the better of me

No. The Manchurian candidate was, to outward appearance, a loyal American. No one in the 48% was (or is) living under that delusion.

So you've seen the kinds of cabins, cottages, etc. that pull three hundred bucks a night or more in the distant reaches of the Pacific. You recognize that "ecotourist resort" is another term for "no AC, no plumbing, and scorpions in the outhouse." Perhaps you've learned, when traveling to China's heavy-industry hinterlands, to ask for the hotel that isn't upstairs from the meat-dog restaurant.
So, fundamentally, as with everything else in life it's a matter of tradeoffs. At Club G-Bay you've got working AC, a library, and a full-service kitchen; on the downside access to windsurfing beaches sucks and the checkout desk isn't well-staffed.
I think the military should try an experiment. Now that the place is emptying out a bit, put some peak-season weeks up on RCI or Redweek or one of the other timeshare-exchange networks. Maybe they can move the fences around a little bit and do some landscaping. See what kind of interest they get.
At least when you're eating halal at Gitmo you're not gonna find out that meat you just pulled out of the hot-pot was Fido.
