— Dave in Texas Hey, it's kinda like blaming Obama, in a way:
Frank said Obama made a critical mistake when he took office in January 2009 by being too nice to Republicans and failing to tell the public just how bad things were following the presidency of George W. Bush. That has left Frank and other Democrats vulnerable to Republican attacks that they are to blame for problems facing the nation — from the intractable war in Afghanistan to the economic collapse at home — when the roots of those crises were planted during the Bush administration, Frank said.“The president was not partisan enough; he did not put the blame where it lay, and so we’re in a tough fight now,’’ he told roughly 70 attendees at a fund-raiser.
On account of Obama's nice-making gestures to the Republicans, and his darned reluctance to blame them (and Bush!) for the economy, people are irritated and surly now and that makes things harder on us Democrats. Because when people are pissy, those darn negative ads, they sure do sting.
Who us? We didn't do nuthin. But we'd like to do more.

Barney Frank's got a fevah, and the only cure is more authority.

What's most people's beef with the Democrats? That they spend too much time blaming the Republicans for stuff and not enough time actually solving problems. Here's Barney saying they're not blaming Republicans enough and we're bitching at him? We should all write him handwritten letters of encouragement.
"Dear Mr. Frank,
"I found your message absolutely inspiring. I agree 1000% and think you should speak out on this subject every single day. When all Democrats running for re-election are spending all their time attacking the Republicans, we will soon have a much better Congress than we do now.
"Sincerely, Sebastian Melmoth
"P.S. I also think the public needs to see more of your charming partner(s), and a frank (no pun intended!) discussion of your sex life would be very constructive."

Look, geniuses like Barney and Barry should have been able to correct all Bush's mistakes, and have everything running perfectlywithin 6 months of the inauguration, given their reported (purported?) insights, fluency, abilities, etc. So why didn't these know-it-alls do that thing? Especially where Barry had at dozens of brilliant Commissars Czars to put their policies into effect, and there were veto-proof majorities in both the House and the Senate. (I'm counting Lindsay Graham, and the 2 chicks from Maine as Democrats.)

If you put a Honda generator on a trailer behind a Nissan Leaf and plug the Leaf into it while you drive, don't you have a Chevy Volt? $33K for the Leaf and $2K for the generator -- plus you still get the $7,500 tax credit.

He still drives and praises his GM SUVs -- a few Escalades, a couple of Suburbans. I don't think Limbaugh is critical of GM's product quality -- he just read the op-ed in the New York Times in which an automotive critic (Edward Niedermeyer) declared the Volt to be a lemon. The op-ed writer's opinion, not Limbaugh's.

How in the everlovin' fuck did the govt . manage to gerrymander gay liberal districts like Barney's and Pelosi's ? And how on earth did they amass so much power ? Those two should be nothing more than cultural curiosities .

1. The prostitution ring in his basement he didn't know anything about.
2. The boyfriend of ten years (Herb Moses), who was Fannie Mae's assistant director for product initiatives (can you say junk paper?), while Rep. Frank was on the Banking Committee.
3. The marijuana plantation boyfriend James Ready had on his premises. Rep. Frank was present in '07 when ready was arrested for cultivation and other crimes. Rep. Frank is "not good with plants".

It's not gerrymandering, it's self-segregation in the formation of gay communities. Gay folks congregated in places like the Castro neighborhood of SF. There was no need to draw oddly-shaped district boundaries.

An optimist might ask if this is another case of is the glass half empty or half full?
It could be that the 42% who still approve of the job that Obama is doing is comprised of, oh, let's say, 17% who have come to recognize that Obama is an empty suit, but who are still sullenly unwilling to concede that they showed horrible judgment when they voted for that lazy, uselless and decadent dilettante, who now occupies the White House. That isn't just a possibility. It is a probability, too.
BTW, a story under the fold that Obama's sycophants in the MSM are unwilling to report is that when Obama visited Florida, so many bad elements showed up and so much merchandise "disappeared" from shops early on along his route that, as a precaution, other shopkeepers along his route had to close up their shops to prevent the looting of their shops by shoplifters. True story, footage of which was shown on Fox News. In other words, Obama's visit did more harm than good to at least one local economt Why am I not surprised? That putz and his supporters are like a plague of locusts.
Don't recall that such a situation ever developed during any of GW's visits to communities. But then, GW always had a better class of admirers

Using the threat of accusations of racism, which carried greater force in the Clinton years than it does today, he even forced through the CRA plan from the minority. The flood of blood from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac today is his personal legacy.

Aug 14, 2010 · Goldman Sachs Group Inc. CEO Lloyd Blankfein has reaped a $6.1 million gain by cashing in more than 90,000 of his own personal stock options before they expire in November, 2010. Coincidentally perhaps, Blankfein and some of his associates at Goldman Sachs were some of the lagest financial contributors to the Obama campaign in 2008, helping significantly to put Obama over the top, so to speak.

I suspect that, with their intentions to cut back on food stamp programs, the Democrats will be directing their cuts at impoverished white senior citizens; the most defenseless, the most helpless and the most powerless demographic in this country.
It is sickening: Clearly, Democrats want to strip away entitlements from elderly white people who earned those entitlements, so that they can give that money to large, influential groups which will further empower them, influential groups which didn't do squat to earn such free handouts and which didn't even pay into Social Security; e.g., the pensions that Congress now wants to pay to elderly Hispanics who are in this country illegally, just so that they can steal that money from our country's elderly.
I feel sorry for elderly white people. With depraved indifference, they're even being shafted by heartless and extremely irresponsible Republicans. Now that they've outlived their usefulness, they're being discarded as if they were yesterday's garbage. That is so wrong and so slimy and so mean and so evil.

I was starting to think I was the only person that noticed this. Plus Rush has turned into a lazy fuck; he needs somebody to help him tighten up his delivery because he's started stuttering all the time which sounds incredibly unprofessional. He's become just like that POS Barbara Walters who makes tons of jack while having major speaking flaws that are easily correctible.
He lost me with his idiotic fetish of being an NFL owner, which is about the least conservative thing you can do, particularly with that ambulatory vag Goodell running the league into the ground. Plus he got jobbed by that worthless prick Dave Checketts, whom anybody with the resources Rush commands should know better than to trust.

the roots of those crises were planted during the Bush administration, Frank said.
You're so right, Bwarney. I remember seeing Bush on t.v. during those years, lisping into the microphone that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were in fine shape, and that what they needed was to be taking on more risk, not less!
Oh no, wait. That wasn't Bush who was saying those things; that was . . . the ignorant and corrupt fat load known as Barney Frank.
