I have to root for him being from MA and all...

3 No. You are not serious. Survivor? That is still on? Who would watch that....?

4 Me. It was one of the best blindsides ever on the show. She never saw it coming. Heh, can't stand Cirie and yes, Rob is still on the show.

Thats why he's my hero.

Catching up on SG1, about 3/4 of the way through Season 7.  Pretty good show, I avoided it for the longest because I didn't think they could do well by the movie.

10 I can't believe I missed the bash M'chelle's clothes thread and all I'm left with is a lame-o survivor thread! What did I do to deserve that?

Posted by: dagny at March 05, 2010 05:10 PM (EciL1)

11 Speaking of tv, I know ace was a fan of Psych.  Any thoughts about this season?  Mr. Y-not and I have been disappointed.

13 >>>Is Boston Rob still around or did he get the boot? He's running his tribe... I think. It's unclear because he's so obviously running it that he's probably not running it, if you know what I mean. Big fat target on his back, but he's staying in because he tends to win them challenges and so they don't go to tribal council often.

When this is finished I might rewatch Twin Peaks on cbs' internet tv.  That was a good series back in the day, but I seem to recall it was on ABC at the time.

Posted by: Dang Straights at March 05, 2010 05:12 PM (v7IWy)

15 >>>Mr. Y-not and I have been disappointed. Completely,. I was going to pimp the season opener, and then it sucked, so I thought, "Glad I didn't tell everyone to watch that." It has gotten a little better, but there has not been a strong episode or even a very strong line or scene this season.

Posted by: ace at March 05, 2010 05:13 PM (jlvw3)

16 Good thing about Comcast on Demand, I don't have Survivor clogging up my limited HD hard drive on the DVR so the wife is happy and I"m happy.  Still, pretty good blindside on Cirie.  Some stupid immunity idol play in this one.  Could they have not been any more obvious.

18 Plus, with Survivor on Demand, my wife can skip all the boring parts which is about half of the episode.

Posted by: CDR M at March 05, 2010 05:16 PM (cvmTR)

19 @18
Yeah, bummer.  It's as if they are putting more effort into the 30-second ad lib bits at the end than they are into the episodes.

20 Sorry guys, I'm in the middle of getting ready to move.  Sold my house here in Jacksonville in 4 days and bought one up in Norfolk in 3 days.  Not too shabby.  Lost my ass on the house here but I pretty much stole one up in Norfolk so it's a wash.  Actually, the one in Norfolk is AWESOME!  Home built by a builder for himself but he couldn't sell his current one so he put it on the market at cost.

22 I haven't seen an episode of Survivor since the 1st season and it kinda left me cold.

The whole thing is too fake and contrived.  They need to make it more real...like Survivor - Crack Houses in Compton Edition, or Survivor - Bogota Drug Running Edition. It seems to me if there was a genuine threat of the participants and/or camera crew getting greased/maimed/incarcerated it might be more interesting.

People would pay to see some scheming toad of a participant get capped by a filthy crazy dusted tweaker with no teeth screaming about all the "bugs" and "spiders".

It's been hit-or-miss. They've had some good-to-great episode, & they've had some so-so ones. Interested in the finale, though. I love Alfred Hitchcock movies, & James Roday is great whenever he directs an episode. The last 2min of this one is crucial.

What's to survive?

Now, if they armed the contestants with big knives and had them fight to the death, that would be a decent show.

And did you ever notice that they never have Survivor, Antarctica? Hard to put emaciated chicks in bikinis on that show, I guess.

And speaking of the chicks in bikinis, when do they have a chance to shave their pits and legs and whatnot?

You're probably like me and twist yourself into a pretzel and whatnot to avoid disturbing them.  Mr. Y-not just pushes them out of the way.

My question is: why do cats sleep on legs?  I mean, they are not really the best source of radiant heat and they're bony.  How comfortable is that?

96 90 I purposely targeted builder's homes just for those special touches.  He's also got a christmas lighting package in the home so you plug all your lights into this one circuit and with one flick of the switch, they all come on both inside and out.  It was going to be his home but his other one won't sell so he wants to cut this one loose before he has 2 mortgage payments.  I was happy to oblige!

Thats no fun, takes the whole Griswald Christmas Vacation element outta of it..no fun unlesss the house is about to burn to the ground!

93 Time for a mini-poll.  What was the raunchiest name for a Bond girl?  I think Chew Mee was the best/worst, but I know a lot of folks like Pussy Galore.

Does Alotta Fagina count?

98 Hey, Ace, the difference between a Survivor thread and a Battlestar Galactica thread is that Battlestar Galactica didn't suck consistently.

I would support Laura Roslin for President (and have a Roslin bumpersticker on my truck) only she very obviously is one, dead, and two, not born on this planet. That would take Birtherism to a whole new level.

99 There's only one of me.  I hope.  Welcome back, CDR M.

100 It's going to be sci-fi 70's here soon.  A BSG movie is coming in the next few years and you can expect a re-release of all 6 Star Wars movies in 3D following Avatar's success.  I'm sure Close Encounter's will want in on that 3D action too.

101 Good to be back Jane.  How's your son doing?

103 #105  He's great.  At MOS school.  Scored highest in his platoon in weapons at Geiger.  Funny how now he's got evenings and weekends off we almost never hear from him.  Momma sad.

104 Jane@77:  The cat walks over me every morning at about 4:45 to get to my wife.  When my wife doesn't respond, the cat starts knocking her stuff off the nightstand... No, I don't get up for the effin' cat.

You should see the CB panel.  It is a thing of beauty.  Even setup to connect your power generator when power goes out to power your house (fridge, ceiling fans).  I've done the Griswald thing the last few years.  I'm done trying how NOT to trip CB's!!

106 98 dananjcon, so sorry about your pup.  Our girls are inside only, so we've never had "critter" issues.  It's funny though, how a soundly sleeping kitty weighs twice as much.  And it's really hard to wake them up when they're snuggled up to you.

Thanks Jane, he was such a lazy dog(the best kind) you could poke him w/a red hot poker and he wouldn't budge.... miss that guy, he was like his old man for sure!

108 #108  Damn if that isn't our youngest cat.  She's used to my husband getting up pretty early and feeding the two of them.  On the rare morning he sleeps later, she jumps up on my dresser and knocks off whatever she can find, cell phone, etc.  (And they were trained as kittens not to jump up on stuff--she knows she'll wake me up and get scolded.  Kittehs are funnay.)

I can't believe it...Battlestar Galactica version 3.0 ...isn't there anybody in Hollywood capable of having an original thought?

Will I watch it?...of course....but it better be good...lots of red meat cuz I hate it when they make friends with the bad guys.

I put a switched GFCI protected wet cover receptacle up under the eaves at the front of my crib for that purpose too.  It avoids all that scary cordage and shit people run that gets them electrocuted and killed.

Its trivial to do when a place is under construction, not so much as a retrofit

You nailed it.  Hollywood is in the remake mode.  Didn't they just announce today that they are rebooting the Police Academy series?  A-Team is coming.  A Smurf movie (not Avatar).  Conan.

I'm really liking it.  Bahston Rahb is a mastermind.  Seems to be the only one with brains.

I wish I could pick the women's bathing suits.  It looks like they do it at random.

When does Stargate Universe start up again?  And V?

Ace, maybe if you post the Survivor thread after the ONT for the day has been posted, it won't get threadjacked.

Just a thought. Then the ONT regulars won't be ejaculating prematurely into this one.
