Speaking of being McCain like. I am watching a debate for the R primary for Senator replacing Jim Bunning. Dumbest RINO answer yet was from Stevenson. He was upset Mitch McConnell didn't work with the Dems on Healthcare and get tort reform since it was going to pass anyway. He says he used to be a Democrat and the Republican can't be the party of no. We should be working across the ailse and Sen Susan Collins (R) Maine would be a good Republican Leader in the Senate.

I like Ron Paul. He's a nut on foreign policy and defense, but he's on the money with much of domestic policy and the important issues of our monetary system (though I am not a hard currency person). Rand Paul sounds decent from what I've heard from him.

I liked the fiscal policy of Rand Paul and Trey Grayson sounded a bit on the Rino squish side. I wasn't aware of Paul's foreign policy stance. It was a 4 man debate and the guy with the best answers doesn't have a chance. He looked to be about 75 and not in good shape. He didn't like the way the Feds exceed the powers enumerated in the constitution and said education is the pervue of the state, not the Feds. He just looks too old and frail to make a good run of it. Plus no name recognition.
Are there any Kentucky morons that actually will get to vote for one of them. You know, none felons.

Because Beckel is a despicable, lying scumbag with an IQ of 75. What gets me is that when Beckel complained that liberals are "painted with a brush that they are all against the flag" [paraphrased] no one really stood up to him and pointed out that liberals love BURNING the American flag and even went to Court to prove their "right" to burn our flag.
Many people have forgotten that the flag carries legal meaning with it. Having an American flag planted says a lot about American control, and that meaning of flags is recognized by all civilized countries.
The conservatives are too nice to Beckel on Honnity's panel. Beckel just lies his ass off and claims that liberals love America (LOL) and most of them let him get away with it. Hannity hits back, every so often, but usually they let Beckel skate free. I guess they feel sorry for him.

Yep, this vitriol is all new. Back in the good old days this would never happen.
Nobody thought Bush was evil and started 9/11 for power... wait not far enough back I guess for "good old days". Nobody thought Clinton hired assassins to kill anyone who got in his way... no, got that wrong too. Nobody heaped scorn and derision on Reagan? Wrong, drat. Um... fine, I'm just going to skip Carter... he got beat fiercely as I recall.
But clearly if we go back far enough campaigns were all polite gentility... oh, and your grandmother was a virgin. Because back then people were completely different.
Like the editorials in 1828 when John Quincy Adams supporters called Jackson's mother a "common prostitute" and claimed the married a mulatto and had several children, and that Jackson was one of them. Oh, and they called his wife a Whore repeatedly. Sweet gentility and the soul of kindness. When Jackson supporters fired back that Adams had a "hideous hermaphroditical character, which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman." that was so polite and kind of them I can barely stand to read such candy-coated happiness.
Sadly things have gone downhill from then, now people will say you should "be more conservative"... clearly we need to raise the discourse to where it was in the good old days.
