— Dave in Texas Rep. Danny Davis (D-IL) is warning Bill Clinton to keep his nose out of the Chicago Mayor's race. His threat? Withdrawal of affection.
"The African American community has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the Clintons, however it appears as though some of that relationship maybe fractured and perhaps even broken should former President Clinton come to town and participate overtly in efforts to thwart the legitimate political aspirations of Chicago's Black community," Davis said in the statement.
There's something perversely funny in that, if Clinton campaigns for Emanuel then of course that means he's trying to "thwart the legitimate political aspirations of Chicago's Black community."
Oddly, threatening "not to love Bill anymore" is probably the only threat that actually would make him slow down and think it over.
Recent poll shows Davis lagging far behind Raum.
Well, since I'm here and I just got the email from Ben, here's the latest standings in the NFL pick em thing.

Typical race-baiting bullshit from the Osama Obama/Black Panther/Eric Shabazz Holder crowd.
Supporting another candidate is not "thwarting legitimate political aspirations," tool. It's a preference, no more and no less.
I don't know if Davis has any claim to suitability for public office other than his skin color, but statements like this tell me he does not.
As long as this attitude exists -- and, worse, is pushed by cheap race-hustlers like the Mohammedan Mouthpiece, Sharpton, and the Jesse Jacksons -- true Constitutional equality (where success is based on ability and accomplishment, not liberal hand-outs) cannot happen.

The "African American community" will get behind Rahm.
Obama's behind Rahm (if he isn't mayor, he could write a book and he knows where the Obama corpses are buried) and besides, Obama hates independent black politicians. He doesn't want a black mayor in Chicago with a mind of his own.
Obama has been good for black politicians though -- Republicans. But I would gather that there will be fewer black Democrat politicians at all levels of government (possibly even including the Federal executive branch, but I would argue that doesn't count for my thesis) in 2011 than ever before. Anybody got the numbers on that?

17 Chicago is an absolute gd mess. It rotten to the core and it's sinking under the weight of its corruption, the political correctness and bloated union contracts. And yet the idiots keep voting the same corrupt bastards in every election.
Chicago is Detroit in a better dress.

If this is their logic, didn't Half-Wonder Bread Obama "thwart the legitimate political aspirations of Chicago's Black community" when he steamrolled Alice Palmer for her State Senate seat?

Black on black thwarting doesn't count.

Hell, Osama Obama ran for the Senate against Alan Keyes, and Keyes was WAY blacker than the Mohammedan Mouthpiece.
Posted by: MrScribbler© at December 29, 2010 06:38 AM (Ulu3i)
Take it at face value and reverse the races:
"The American white community has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the xxx politician, however it appears as though some of that relationship maybe fractured and perhaps even broken should former President xxx come to town and participate overtly in efforts to thwart the legitimate political aspirations of Chicago's white community, (unsaid by supporting a black candidate)" Davis said in the statement.
If a white candidate had said that about a black supporting a black candidate the networks and the MFM would be screaming so loud you could hear it on Mars.
Holder would be prosecuting as well.

Unless I misread what Amishdude wrote, he wasn't referring to Black Republican politicians.
Posted by: Tami at December 29, 2010 06:52 AM (VuLos)
If he supports Rahm, who does know where the proverbial bodies are buried, he loses his base in his own home-town. And, once they're lost, it's possible he faces the same "preference cascade" with blacks that he did with the rest of the nation. (not likely, but certainly possible)
If he opposes Rahm... well, Rahm knows where the proverbial bodies are buried. And "Dead Fish" may well threaten to go public with them if BHO even just tries to sit out.
Posted by: AllenG (Dedicated Tenther) at December 29, 2010 06:52 AM (8y9MW)
Oh, I thought he was just referring to ANY independent minded black politician. Just with a slight emphasis towards the sinister side of the aisle.

LOL, one of the funniest things I ever saw on that score happened at a pub in Mombasa, Kenya years ago. A bunch of us were sitting there drinking our warm Tusker Lager when a group of blacks from the ship came in and started a "shuck 'n jive" routine reminiscent of Airplane with the bartender (who was black).
He got all proper with them and said in the best proper British butler voice "I beg your pardon". You could tell he held them with absolute disdain.

34 The above statement just goes to show the absolute racism of the average black politician and the bankruptcy of their communist movement.
One of the big things about politics that I've learned is that people think that others see the world the way we do. Why do liberals accuse conservatives of racism? Because they are obsessed with race. But their reaction to their race obsession is a noblesse oblige or paternalistic condescension.
This is why they also talked about Bush's rich friends or oil buddies. They just assumed that Bush did things to benefit a friendly constituency. That either he wanted to benefit a constituency he favors for some financial advantage for himself or that he has an altruistic view that leads him to benefit them.
Because that's how liberals operate. They think that politics is the art of getting stuff for you and for those you favor. This is why Rangel gets a pass, he's supposed to use the system to enrich himself -- that's what Bush did after all. There's no evidence of that, but since liberals can't conceive of any other way to conduct politics, that's the only answer that fits their worldview.
And Rangel fights for "us". Well, he doesn't really. He uses us to get stuff for himself, but we know the Republicans aren't saying they're fighting for "us" and want to give us the crumbs from their table, but the Democrats at least use us as cannon fodder to get stuff for themselves, so we'll go with that. It's nice to be pandered to, even if it comes to nothing.
Rahm gets stuff. He threatens and extorts. He's a rainmaker. And even if the rain falls only on his own land, that's OK. Davis? He won't be able to get stuff, he isn't on the inside.

What I meant was that Obama has undercut, either explicitly or through neglect, black policitians who weren't directly beholden to him. So, in the administration, there are quite a few, but he undercut Paterson and Rangel and was tepid in his support of Meek. He didn't want Burris anywhere near Washington.
Black Republicans have done fairly well, though. Many were emboldened to run and quite a few won, not just West and Scott, but at the local level.

Anyway, I don't believe many AAs know that they're not descended from Cleopatra and the Nubian kingdoms
Trivia fact: Cleopatra wasn't African except that she lived there. She was Greek. Part of the Ptolomy family that ruled Egypt for hundreds of years during the time of the Roman Empire.

In 2010, the President signed the Fair Sentencing Act, which narrowed the huge disparity between sentences for possession of crack cocaine vs. powder cocaine
Of course, the disparity was put into place to placate...you guess it, the AA community. Back in the 80s, crack was The Big Issue and was "devastating" the inner cities and "something" had to be done.
So, they did, federal sentencing for crack was increased.
But as usually happens, the AA community is focused on criminals. The CJ system is, we must suppose, a conspiracy against young black males (not young Indian males or old black females so the racism motivation seems to be oddly specific).
Now, I don't know if this will make a difference at all but I'm going to take a wild stab that President "a little blow if you could afford it" didn't raise the sentences for powder cocaine.

It's something I learned relatively recently. I kind of assumed she was a sort of Mediterranean African and of the same stock as the Copts, but also learned recently about her Greek roots. I took by your sentence that she and the Nubian Kingdoms were connected in a meaningful way, sorry.
Still, it's amazing what basic things we don't learn. I blame my American public school education.

Yep, she was an inbred Greek Macedonians. Technically it was still the Roman Republic until she and Marc Antony snuffed it and Octavius became sole ruler thus transforming himself to Augustus and the Republic to an empire. Sorry, I'm a total history nerd

Well, we know that Clinton was America's first Black President, but was he really "black-black"? And of course, Rahm Emmanuel is a Jew and not really "white-white".
Or something like that. And no matter what, Chicago is boned.
