Bobby Jindal is Not Interested in the Process
— Dave in Texas

But he sure is stuck in it.

No embed, but you can see it here.

To be fair, he's also asking the Feds to press BP to pay for the sand barrier project. But this quote is noteworthy: "We didn't need another meeting. We didn't ask for another meeting. On Friday with the President we were very clear, it's not the process that interests us it's the outcome."

In one frustrated statement, Jindal pinpoints the significant difference between conservatives and liberals. Results vs. Intentions.

The careful reader will notice I did not call them "good intentions".

1 Wow, the spam is on it.

I like that Jindal is taking charge and just doing what needs to be done, rather than waiting for the government or Prissypants to do something. No one relies on the government for help if they know what's good for them.

The "victims" of Katrina didn't learn that lesson.

And when has a liberal suggested anything other than new taxes and regulations to any problem?

20 Go Gov. Jindal!  Enough with the posturing, enough with the bureaucrats telling him what forms he needs to fill out; enough with the professors who don't know how to do anything but TALK and THEORIZE.  Jindal places a foot up the president's backside.  Will it move him?  Doubt it.

We have appointed a Taskforce to brainstorm some scenarios for possible meetings to determine if a Commission should be established to study the probability that a Work Group could prepare some grant proposals that would attract the interest of a Federal Agency willing to oversee the winning grad students in contacting impacted parties to author a report describing how this event strengthened their faith in the Federal Government.

26 I think if I were in Jindal's place, I'd just do what I need to do. Then when the shit hits the fan from the administration, I'd make it real clear that it was their constant stalling, ignoring, golfing, partying, white water rafting, and all the rest of the inaction this administration has done that forced me to protect my state. Then I'd start making my plans for 2012.

27 I too am beginning to believe that this unending spill is being "allowed" to happen.  I didn't think so at first, but now, watching this president do NOTHING, I do wonder.  Is this Rahm Emmanuel saying, "let it spill, let it spill, the easier to advance our policies...."

33 The O-bots are in serious denial. It's so pathetic how they worship and defend Obama like he's God. Forget Christ, to them Obama is the only man who will die without sin. How sad it is that they have such a large void within themselves that they put all their faith in a thug? Really, what has he done to earn such loyalty from them? I suspect that the reasons they obsess over him are: a) he's black, so they have to fawn over him or else they are unhip and racist. b) If they admit the truth, they will be admitting that the entire belief system that they spent years carefully guarding against reality is wrong.
Anyone who believes that Obama is helping this country is in serious need of introspection.

wouldn't it make sense for the government to maybe do something and worry about who's going to pay for it afterwards.

If they had done that burn thing at the beginning (putting booms around some oil and burning it off) they might have been able to hold off the oil reaching shore for a time at least.

I don't really think that BP is doing anything wrong at this point, they are trying everything, it's just funny how our government has all these regulations and then we don't follow them and the government hacks who make high 6 figures sit around watching porn on their computers instead of actually enforcing those regulations should be held as accountable as BP.

36 Dumb Ass question here,

But given that this oil is coming from outside the State, isn't this a Federal responsibility (Calling Barrack HUSSEIN Obama) like protecting the border from an invasion force of millions armed with walking sticks and shielded by pregnant women, except not as costly to the State?

Posted by: Druid at June 02, 2010 06:49 PM (Oe01r)

37 protecting the border from an invasion force of millions armed with walking sticks

meaning - WTF does it matter if they come in with overwhelming force like bombing Pearl Harbor then taking the PI and enslaving everyone under threat of death, or if they just walk in with hands above their heads and demand welfare checks like they own the fuckin' place?

Posted by: Druid at June 02, 2010 06:52 PM (Oe01r)

Cray Talk - that would lead to Anthropomorphic-sosis gobul climatic chance - not sure if it would make it hotter of colder, but it will be CHANGE.

BTW - this month's PC as always National Geographic indicates that increased global ash (such as massive volcanic overcast) results in global warming because ashen snow melts faster than pure white snow under the ash filtered skies.

#26  Yup.  Like some famous guy once said, this is an opportunity ('crisis') not to be wasted.  The key point is it's the private sector that's going to fix this thing, not any govt agency or dept, including the military.  The govt needs to get out of the way and/or assist as requested.  That stark contrast should be the messsage hammered home by a ballsy governor who knows the difference.

LOL they know he sins. He just sins less than evil Rethuglicans who made him sin to begin with. Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and resisted Satan tempting Him. 45 I still want someone to explain to me Goldman Sachs extremely large sell-off of BP in the month or so before this explosion (which has never been explained) and oil spill (which has never been contained) happened.

I mean,  I know coincidental things happen,  but Goldman Sachs?  I would like to know who made the sell decision and the reasoning behind it.

I also wish I would hit the Powerball,  but the chances of that are probably greater than getting an explanation for this fortuitous (for goldman Sachs) occurrence.
