The Motor City, which once boasted the highest per-capita income of any American city, is now such a shithole that they're ripping down entire blocks of urban blight and crackhouses and turning the inner-city land into farms. I am open for Kirsten Powers to perform the first hummer on me to demonstrate her commitment to the Obama program of inclusiveness.

The one thing that will stop them from getting cozy is their mutual distrust and loathing -- plus China's growing population of out of work, single men and Russia's oil resources...and the whole proximity thing. They are too close to each other to ever really get cozy.

that's a common warning on a lot of ice cream, even the 'natural' ones.
What's the culprit, I wondered? Diglycerides.
MONO-AND DIGLYCERIDES These emulsifiers help mix ingredients that would not otherwise blend well. They consist of a fatty acid chain -- or two, in the case of diglycerides -- which is covalently bonded to a glycerol molecule through an ester linkage.

Sometimes it just means you have something to add -- say, a disclaimer of further explanation-- & you don't want it to be as noticeable. So, you want people to read it, but not have it stand-out as much. Other times, you use "/" in place of a sarc tag. So, instead of typing "/s", you just use "/".

271 Hot sauce is not optional (except for the toddlers) and yes it's seasoned with a little bit of fat back (if we have it) and garlic/onions (which is perhaps optional for some, but not around here), but I'm not from Louisiana. That and homemade mac n cheese and biscuits n' gravy (not together of course) -- has been a standard family hard times fare around here when the meat freezer is about empty and the garden hasn't come in yet.
Heather, you've given me a great idea for a cottage industry: for a slight fee I will authentically distress jeans. Nothing says "hip" like authentic barn stains and rips, no? Have you tried Rural King (or Farm and Fleet)? They carry jeans that actually fit like jeans still.

She won confirmation on a 61-31 vote, with some Republicans voicing concern about her lack of courtroom experience and her opposition to on-campus military recruiting at Harvard.
So, she lacks RL experience & seemingly dislikes the military. Oh, that's just great.
/I can also guess where she stands on DADT

Why are liberal women ugly?
Just because you aren't liberal doesn't mean your looks are optimized, *ponders my own dog-face in a mirror*. The problem is such people are ugly on the inside.

Maybe that just hasn't filtered down to Milwaukee yet. Torn (sometimes mended with contrasting thread) and frayed and bleach-spotted everywhere.
Admittedly, there probably aren't a lot of fat women here who work with old men who dress like dorks/will be crawling all over USMC field equipment for the next three months who need pants.

Oh, & I was right: During her deanship, Kagan supported a long-standing policy barring military recruiters from campus, because she felt that the military's Don't ask, don't tell policy discriminated against homosexuals.
