anyways, DiT is really slipping if Gabe is not only beating him to creating a football/bowl game thread, but also a cheerleader pic. Just for that, go bama!
and happy Hangover Day.

How did we ever survive without bowl games in high def?
I think it's kind of like having poor eyesight then getting glasses or contacts.
And of course you are never going back.

I picked the Big 10 to go 3W-4L in bowl games this year. I'm beginning to think I was too optimistic in my appraisal.

I would dearly love to see Penn State punk LSU. I am so fucking sick of sec jackoffs.
Touchdown, Nittany Lions.
Posted by: Dang Straights at January 01, 2010 09:40 AM (cu6FF)
NW scores 14 unanswered to tie. Whoa.
That last score was all missed tackles. Look at the records of these teams. NW should be kinking their asses based on tyhe record but when you are in the SEC you play real teams.

Well another damn interception. Auburn deserves to lose this game big time.
Does anyone know if the Barret-Jackon over at speed is a new one or a re-run?

Now what now? Pulling for the War Eagle? I thought you Yeller Hammers got your membership yanked for that.
WTF is Ttech thinking, anyway? They're never going to win 11 games again, ever. Craig James is a tool.

That field is a complete fucking disgrace when you consider the all purjpose turf that's available today; it's in worse shape than JoePa. I'm so happy the ncaa feels the need to protect these dogshit bowl cities so they can rake it in from the fuckwits that travel to these travesties. Meanwhile a player will probably shred a tendon/ligament trying to plant a foot in the fucking goo.

Heh! The surgeon I'm on call with is an LSU alum (undergrad). As long as this game is on, there is no way in hell we will be working. He'll just have the ICU nurses turn up the Nitro. My sis and bro went to Penn State. Go Nittany Lions! Penn State, really great!
And boy, you aren't kidding about the abysmal field conditions. Someone is going to get really hurt.

I'm worried that LSU has found their catalyst. PSU needs some Joementum!!!
OK, I have to go cut up some fruit for a fruit plate I'm taking to my aunt's house. Yell if something exciting happens (my very phlegmatic husband won't say anything!) Drats! They just got another good punt return!

That said, Les Miles is a babbling idiot down the stretch with his clock management. No timeouts, thirty seconds and 25 yards to go to get into field goal range: the natural call? Five yard slant toward the middle of the field, of course.
But seriously, how does unstacking the pile so you can spike a ball being illegally held by an opponent result in a devastating loss of field position and nearly all of the remaining clock time? Welcome to the NCAA, baby, that's how.
Kudos to Jeaux Pa and PSU though. They outplayed us and deserved to win. Les Miles on the other hand deserves the unemployment line for consistently putting his team into a position to lose rather than win.
Posted by: Bust of Billy Cannon at January 01, 2010 12:43 PM (ZgE80)
I was worried that PSU was going to lose because I watched the game (my teams almost always lose!) Do you think Jo-Pa will get his contract renewed? (I think it's up). For once, I'm rooting for Ohio State, but only cause I hate the Ducks (they practically have a pro budget what with Phil Knight's deep pockets and all). Plus they let that loser play again that had initially been penalized for the whole season for cold cocking that guy from Idaho.
Posted by: runningrn at January 01, 2010 12:45 PM (CfmlF)
Oh, and the refs screwed up with not calling offsides on LSU when PSU was near the goal line.
Posted by: runningrn at January 01, 2010 12:47 PM (CfmlF)
The nose tackle did seem to be in the neutral zone, or in the center's jockstrap. Either or.

Posted by: toby928 at January 01, 2010 12:50 PM (PD1tk)
True. And please don't mistake my comment above as a suggestion that the refs somehow cost LSU the game. They didn't - PSU played better and won fair and square. Congrats.

Absolutely.
From what I hear, he's a fundraising goldmine (as well as a pretty significant patron, I think). They'd be stupid to do anything other than give him the option to stay as long as he pleases.
I love the guy. He's one of the few college coaches who still seems to value sportsmanship and treats his players accordingly.

Too bad I don't give a rip. The only reason why I'd root for them would be to rum salt in the wounds of THE OSU assholes that still wallow over their massive loss to FLA a few years back.
