British Eco-Fascists: Cut Your Carbon Emissions Or You'll Get Blown Up
— DrewM

What better way is there to get across the urgency of saving the planet than by blowing up school kids?

(I guess I should add a content warning if you're not a fan of horror movie quality gore.)

The video was written and directed by Richard Curtis, who was behind a bunch of silly Brit Rom-Coms starting Hugh Grant. It also featured a number of UK sports and entertainment figures.

The eco-fascists at a group called "1010" who are behind this are trying to erase any trace of the video and have have issued an apology to anyone who was offended.

I don't think they should apologize at all. I think they should be applauded for an honest and forthright statement of their beliefs...people are the problem and those who stand in the way of 'progress' will be removed.

This isn't anything new, progressive and totalitarian regimes have been doing killing their enemies (in propaganda and in fact) for years. Once you've identified those who are responsible for all the ills befalling everyone else, it's only logical that the state be empowered to remove them.

Better to have it on the table than not.

Once again, this demonstrates that the best way to find out what a leftist is really thinking is to pay attention to what they accuse the right of doing. People on the left never tire of accusing the right of fear mongering and creating enemies. Yet here we have a clear picture of who environuts think are the true enemy...kids who won't get with the program.

Just for fun, do you think they could have gotten a guy like Curtis or all those celebrities to participate in a video warning of the dangers of expansionist Islam? Imagine if it featured suicide bombers chanting "Allahu Akbar"? Of course not. And if they did somehow pull it off, the UK police would have arrested them on a hate crime charge.

Read the bottom of the Telegraph piece.  The real Bin Laden is ahead of you!

UPDATE: Another major celebrity has announced that he shares the concerns of Richard Curtis and the 10/10 campaign. Step forward: Osama Bin Laden. (Hat tip: Mark Wallace)

AFP – Osama bin Laden has expressed concern about global climate change and flooding in Pakistan, in an audiotape aired on the Internet, his first public remarks since March, a monitoring group said Friday.

“The number of victims caused by climate change is very big… bigger than the victims of wars,” said the voice, whose authenticity could not be immediately verified and made available by SITE Intelligence Group.

From The Guardian:

"Doing nothing about climate change is still a fairly common affliction, even in this day and age. What to do with those people, who are together threatening everybody's existence on this planet? Clearly we don't really think they should be blown up, that's just a joke for the mini-movie, but maybe a little amputating would be a good place to start?" jokes 10:10 founder and Age of Stupid film maker Franny Armstrong.

But why take such a risk of upsetting or alienating people, I ask her: "Because we have got about four years to stabilise global emissions and we are not anywhere near doing that. All our lives are at threat and if that's not worth jumping up and down about, I don't know what is."

"We 'killed' five people to make No Pressure – a mere blip compared to the 300,000 real people who now die each year from climate change," she adds

94 When the NAZI's were massacring people during the Holocaust, mass shootings were stopped not because of the immorality of the killing but because of the psychological impact upon the soldiers doing the shooting. Morale was hurt.

Similar thing here. The eco-Fascists want to remove from society those who disagree with them but retract this particular message because it affects the psychology of those they hope to recruit to their cause. Yes, some in the leadership of the eco-Fascist clan really don't care because they're pathological - they applaud the brute tactic - but this ad hurts even those who must carry out the deed. It's nasty and upsetting to all but the most hardcore.

And, yes, this is a fine unmasking just as was the exposed internal collusion in censorship by the "scientific consensus" during Climategate.

In Australia a global warming group ran a "game" for kids online setting out how long they should be allowed to live based on their and their families enviromental actions. About twenty questions covering everything from how they make their living, to how far they commute, to what kind of vehicles they drive, or how they take vacations.

One of the questions covered how much they contirbuted to enviromental groups.

It turned out that you could live like a hermit, not using cars or any kind of energy at all and you would only be allowed to live into your teens. But if you contributed a large amount to the greens they would allow you to live much longer.

In fact if you contributed enough money to the greenies you could operate however you liked, driving gas guzzlers, flying private jets, burning power in your home like crazy, and they would allow you to live to a ripe old age.

Turns out that if you buy your indulgences from them you can be saved from their wrath.

Different, yes, attention grabbing, sure, fucking retarded and counterproductive, you bet. They keep it up and they'll make going green as enticing as going all weiner in a bee's nest.

99 As pointed out over in the comments at the Guardian, this film:

... may even be act of terrorism in itself. The Terrorism Act defines terrorism as

"the use or threat of action where:
(a) the action falls within subsection (2),
(b) the use or threat is designed to influence the government or to intimidate the public or a section of the public, and
(c) the use or threat is made for the purpose of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause.

(2) Action falls within the subsection if it:
(a) involves serious violence against a person,
(b) involves serious damage to property,
(c) endangers a person's life, other than that of the person committing the action,
(d) creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public, or
(e) is designed to seriously interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.

(3) The use or threat of action falling within subsection (2) which involves the use of firearms or explosives is terrorism is terrorism whether or not subsection (1) (b) is satisfied.

The threat is obvious, it is that we will blow members of the public up with explosives if they do not state their submission to the causes espoused by 10:10.

100 Ecofacism has been an emotional hook for the masses since the start of the Nazi party -- the back-to-nature posers came up with the term ecology and formed the basis for what would become the Nazi party. If you really wanted to save the planet, you'd start by blowing up the public schools rather than the unfortunate kids who have to listen to the whiney androgynous losers who should be educating them.

You know, the most striking thing about this ad is how passive-agressive the message is. The teacher, the boss, and Harry Redknapp--even the guy working the sound board--all made soothing sounds of compromise and tolerance before jamming the red button that turns the non-compliant into red sauce.

"Well, that's okay... no pressure," they say, just before pulping someone.

243 Problem is, if that caller didn't qualify for any of this government aid, being a veteran and all, then who the heck does qualify?

Who qualifies? Rarely the person receiving federal aid. Take illegal aliens receiving free education, housing, and medical services from US tax payers.

Too often, Congress appropriates funds which are "lost" in the spending. Just look at the Social Security safe box of funding. Take the Black Farmers' law suit, because Congress appropriated the tax funds to reimburse what the farmers had supposedly been stiffed when formerly applying through the Agriculture Dept. for financial aid. Yet the majority of the "black farmers" weren't at all qualified and had applied fraudulently, and the funds were ALL spent immediately on such fraud before any verification was requested of recipients prior to receiving any awards, leaving at least 40% of the legitimate cases unresolved.

Get the government out of "charity". I can understand a soup kitchen, but even those were conducted by churches and private civic service organizations like the Kiwanis, the Lions Club, or a Women's Club.

/Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and unto God that which is God's.

Over the holidays a few years ago I went to Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau in Poland, then on to Munich and Nuremberg for the holiday Kristkindlmarkts.  Going from one to the other, it really hit home how an apparently civilized culture can turn to barbarism with such apparent ease.  It's a lesson that is worth reflecting on when we look at our civilized "elites" today with their radical ideas on how the world could be improved.

Personally, I have no doubt if the political constraints were removed from supposedly educated people like Obama, we would see body counts comparable to Cambodia.

Of course there are only 7 billion left now.  Guess what, in four years there may not be any left.  Global climate gyrations are killing us at the rate of 50,000 people per hour.

Just a few weeks ago my uncle crashed his car into the dining room of an assisted living facility resulting in a death toll of 27.  It turns out that he was overheated from extreme ozone depletion and guzzled several 40's of Olde English in a desperate bid to stay hydrated.  This is not an isolated tragedy, my family alone has suffered many, many losses in eerily similar circumstances.

But you go ahead and cry about the youtube video.  All you had to do was buy a few light bulbs and ride your bike once in a while, but I guess it was just more convenient to murder my uncle and all those old people.

268 I wonder how long before we see some of this going on in real life? The eco-fascists have brainwashed a generation to believe that carbon is EVIL and anyone who doesn't believe in the Global Warming, er Climate Change, er Climate Disruption religion is EVIL.

So how long before some moody loner plants a bomb, or takes a shot at an oil company CEO?

And how can the media pin it on the Tea Party?

Posted by: Trimegistus at October 01, 2010 11:18 AM (bB2Ee)

269 You know, I do NOT get the enviro-whacko true-believers at all.

First, I do NOT believe that CO2 is the end-all be-all AGW warning nastiness they do... but lets pretend we believe that manmade CO2 is polluting and warming the planet and we're all going to die.  Just for fun, remember we're pretending.

From their science, the world can accept between 3-7% of the CO2 mankind is producing, the rest builds up over time, heating up the world into a massive greenhouse cooker.  the 3-7% number isn't disputed by much of anyone.

So, clearly theis solution to stop the rise of CO2 is to cut back to... 90% of what we're putting out now? A 10% cut is the solution? ... See here's where they lost me.

Lets say the problem is alligators in the swimming pool eating kids.  Do you want to remove 10% of the alligators eating kids, then call it "problem solved'?  If you're ok with 90%, then you're very nearly as big a part of the problem as I am when I ignore you outright.

If you buy the CO2 warmism hype then a 93-97% reduction should be your target.  Kill 70-90% of humanity so the rest can live non-electric non-gasoline agrarian farming lives like mankind did in the 1200's.  That's the only answer that "stops warming"; everything else is bullsh*t.

So blowing up people who won't cut 10%, and praising those who cut 10%?  That's like chastizing serial killers only if they kill more than 4 people a week, and patting them on the head if they're not killing moer than 2/week (assuming you agree that CO2 is destroying the planety and stuff, it's a workable analogy).

SO why aren't the "kill those who kill the planet" true-believers not attacking everyone who won't cut 90% of their CO2 production?  Did they decide that wouldn't fly so still contributing to the problem was better that saving the planet for real?  Or do they not beleive their own bullshit?

Be a good environmentalist, only destroy the planet 90-92% as fast as the evil rich people who ignore us... is that really a slogan that will move people to do anything useful?

It may be better than "hey, the 1200's were awesome, lets push society and technology back to the dark ages; FOR SCIENCE!"... but I can't see it being much better.

Basically, even if I presume all their assumptions are true; I don't see how their math is meaningful.  And when you've f***ed up the math this badly, I have to start wondering if your science is really all that solid.

And then I don't believe again.  I'm done even pretending, because a rational person with skills in basic math and minimal research can figure out your "solution" is useless (presuming your assumptions and "science" are all 100% accurate).

Guess they're going to kill me now.  For not "beleiving"... or for having the intellect to do basic math... one or the other.

278 173 What pisses me off the most is the manner in which the people are killed, not that they are blown up, but that it is done without any passion, as if the decision to kill a human being who disagreed with you not only isn't difficult, but deserves no second or third thought, nor even the slightest reflection. Just something that had to be done, like swatting an irritating fly, and simply moving on to the next activity. They dehumanize to a level even below rodents, to the insignificance of insects.

288 Cicero
it really hit home how an apparently civilized culture can turn to barbarism with such apparent ease.

I'm not arguing about society's schizophrenia. But such apparent ease? For the radicals to convince the starving that someone was to blame for their misery, yes, the opportunity to rape the world was ripe. But the German people were STARVING for decades after WWI. And such starvation is not easy to endure, and does work on your mind, starving for an entire generation. Had everyone been in good health and spirits, I doubt that the radical socialists of any persuasion could have destabilized the legitimate German government as was managed by manipulating the needy while everyone was needy.

Our Great Depression only lasted a decade, and those with jobs were affluent through those years. Had America experienced the decades of starvation and international financial abuse that Germany did after WWI, there's no telling. It is horrible, the NAZI annihilation of a eugenically bigoted destruction of their "undesirable" populations in WWI. We experienced a national trauma when America lost 2% of our population during our Civil War. Wars are ugly.

There's no putting lipstick on any pig of war. The current "nation building" wars aren't any prettier, either. I'd say that Germany has done half a century of "repenting" following their WWII loss. And 40 years seems to be the time span between major conflicts leading to war. And the universally moral question they have yet to properly address now regards why German (and French) industries choose to supply Islamic theocracies with biological AND nuclear war materials. After all, they (Germany and France) did have their Muslim alliances during the Great War to end all wars and its demon child, WWII.

I heard Rush talking to that lady. Veteran or not, the whole thing sounded pretty far fetched to me. Five people and not one of them works? Really?

"My husband can't stand up to work" she says. Really? He can sit around in a trailer all day. Maybe he can get a job where he, you know, sits down most of the time.

My impression is Rush thought it suspicious too but was real careful about what he said because the lady said she's a veteran and he doesn't want to piss off his listeners. He kept coming back to the fact that no one in that household was working. In fact, no one had worked for ten years. TEN YEARS.

As for The Rockford Files, classic show. My favorite show. Lindsay Wagner appeared in the pilot episode and a later episode where a friend of hers went missing. She had a contentious relationship with Jim because she bounced a check on him. Bill Mumy played her younger brother in the episode in which she first appeared (the pilot, which is also notable for the fact that another actor played Rocky, Jim's father. Noah Beery didn't come along until production started in earnest).

Lance White appeared in several episodes later in the series. It's not hard at all to see Magnum, P.I. as a continuation of Rockford under a different scenario. I'm sure Selleck got the gig because of his work as Lance White (although the characters are very different).

314 OT but environmentally related. Dr. Glennon, I don't know if you have heard of him (he has been on the Daily Show so is faaaaamous), has a solution to the water crisis we are facing: just ration water!!! Glennon said another step that should be taken is to increase the cost of water. "Most Americans pay less for water than we do for cell phone service and cable television," Glennon said. Glennon's proposal is that the amount of water needed for survival and to protect people for basic needs should remain free, as it now is in some states. However, for water that is wasted, the cost should be increased. By doing this, the human right to water is protected, but society is encouraged not to use more than absolutely necessary. We've never even looked at this as a serious issue," he said, "but it is a serious issue and its a tough sell. Now what we need is the moral courage and the political will to act." Look, some of his ideas are sound. And trust me, I live in Utah with a booming population and a not booming amount of water; we get the idea out here of the importance of conserving as much water as we can. But rationing water?! So let me get this straight: it is imperative that everyone in America has high speed internet for free, but water, one of the most basic necessities of life, we must ration. Is this the left's view? Do I have this right? Way to have your priorities in order, people. http://tinyurl.com/37az2z74 Video: http://vimeo.com/15068236

320 I like the emotional distance provided by the button. The teacher/envirofascist did not actually haul out a weapon and kill the unbelievers; no, she just ticked off that one final thing on her list. 'Oh, yes, there was one more thing I was supposed to do.' SHE didn't want to hurt anyone, far from it, it was just something that happened. No blood on HER hands. I'm put in mind of the Nazi doctor who performed autopsies on concentration camp inmates after someone else had killed them with a lethal injection. He later testified, "I myself never performed any lethal injections." Well, yes, it's important to maintain a certain emotional distance from the unpleasant things which must be done, isn't that right? I think we can say we have been warned.

327 desperation by the gaia crowds, all that money disappearng if they don't succeed, poor ge, poor msnbc, poor gore, the u.n- poor people tilting and building windmills,  How depressed they must be that they are losing their grasp on the new financial plan they had all set up for the next generations and their dominance in field.

Ecofucktards want to be one with nature....I guess removing the lead from them prior to composting gives me an attaboy for saving the groundwater from heavy metals.

330 On the bright side, however, they only blew up Limeys, so hey, no harm no foul.

334 Hmm, 300,000 a year dead from climate change. Even pretending that's not bullcrap, which it is, what was the left-wing murder average for the last hundred years? Something over 1 million per year?

So, what does that mean we get to do to you if you're a leftist?

I mean, if 300,000 a year justified murdering people (children?) who voice contrary opinions, over 3 times that much must merit something *really* special.

335 Oh, and P.S. - I grew up around hippies and hardcore liberals, I worked with a lot of liberals, and while there's a sort of swath in the hippie/liberal axis that are kind-hearted dunderheads, there aren't as many of them as you think.

The larger body are serious liberals, and from long acquaintance I can tell you that *this* is their heart of hearts. They honestly have daydreams of camps and pogroms, and a world where all opposition has been buried in shallow graves.

The million variations of "imagine a world without..." may start as naieve or about changing hearts and minds, but it always, *always* ends up a graveyard.

336 I found myself cheering while watching this, and then remembered that my family was anti-treaty IRA (from the Anglo/Irish war era). Any possible connection?

"2. This DID make me want to stock up on guns and ammo in case these loons ever try to make their fantasies a reality."

My thoughts exactly.

That video is horrible, it don't care if it was in jest or not, that kind of thinking is flat out wrong. Agree or die? WTF.

338 The only stock in trade of any government is force, which may be further defined as:
Confiscation
Imprisonment
Execution

That government is moral which implements these actions only as safeguards for its individual citizens against theft, fraud, and violence.

That government is immoral which implements these actions for any other purpose, be it charity, education, prohibition, or the regulation of industry or commerce.

Revolting. And by a talent like Curtis, who gave us the awesome Blackadder. Sad that he's been so brainwashed.

On 10 10 10 I'll be in a house I just bought. I think I'll celebrate by turning on every non-CFL light in the house and having a nice fire in the fireplace.

See, limey fascists--I'm killing trees AND spewing carbon.

And I'm armed. You'll take my carbon when you pry it from my cold dead fingers...which you seem to want to do.

I guarantee you that every member of that production is horrified by the idea of subjects owning guns and knives, yet they fantasize about blowing up grade schoolers who disagree with them. Nice.

340 For me, it isn't the video so much as the thinking behind it. I mean, what if the authority figure--the one pushing the button--was carrying a revolver, and simply shot the non-compliant offenders in the back of the head, Chinese-style? As it is, the use of a friendly remote control button box and the over-the-top, Monty Pythonesque gore and tone somewhat subdues the authoritarian undertone somewhat, but it's still very much there. I can only imagine the brainstorming sessions as the creative team put this together. Picture them framing the various scenes, arguing over whether a pistol would get the point across, or maybe an old-school flamethrower or bazooka, and someone countering with, 'No, old boy, not enough finesse. Let's do the exploding bit instead." Not once did it occur to any of them that there might be anything just plain wrong about any of this. Michelle Malkin was right: these people are essentially anti-human. To them, we--all of us--are a cancer, a blight, a chancre sore on the upper lip of Mother Gaia.

344 ok. I've thought about this all day today.

These people mean humanity harm.  They are serious.

The bottom line is that there will be more for those who survive the onslaught, and they are hell bent to be the  perpetrators lest they be the consumed.

They want the spoils, and they consider you competition. Misanthropists?

No.  Murderers.  Know them.  They will come for you.

These folks have no god save for themselves.  Understand this quickly.

349 I really resent the tone of this thread about the way these glorious filmmakers are getting out this important message. Did you ever consider that no person of color nor any with a Spanish name (not even Rick Sanchez) was harmed in this cinematic "tour de force"? Your complaints about the smithereening of these superflous individuals is therefore pointless.
