Brown internal polling: up by 11 (!?!)
— Open Blog

Ace is busy doing blow off a dead hobo's belly so he asked me to post this for him.

According to Geraghty, Scott Brown's internal polls now have him up by 11, which is closer to last night's Pajamas poll than any official media number has been.

Listen, I don't think the election is in the bag, because there are lots and lots of forces trying to pull it one way or the other. But I certainly don't think it's unwinnable for Brown, and even a victory uncontestably outside the margin of fraud is certainly a possibility.

If you're far from MA, keep calm and keep sending money if you can. If you're in or near MA, keep calm and sign up for Brown GOTV if you haven't already. (That means doors this weekend, people.) Whatever happens, if you do what you can there'll be nothing to regret.

13 If we average both sides' internal polls, (Coakley's = Brown by 3; Brown's = Brown by 11) then we come up with a Brown win by 7.

I'll take that - it's beyond the margin most poll's MOE and beyond any possible MOF (margin of fraud)

turfmann,

I've been very glass half empty on this so as not to set myself up for the inevitable blue state liberal reversion to habit when it comes down to brass tacks. But your post is starting to give me hope.

Not an iota of overconfidence, but a slice of hope. Don't really want to allow myself to think about the implications of what it would mean if Brown actually won.

28 18 Brown will win the vote but lose the election. Too much ACORN/SEIU fraud, Chicago machine politics, too much at stake for the Dems to allow this to happen. If that were the case then Obama wouldn't be going up there - he'd let her quietly win on Obamacare, C&P and Immigration reform, then go about his business taking over the US. No, there's at least a better than average chance that she loses this. I think that it's a mistake for him to nationalize this or to risk looking like a buffoon, but that hasn't stopped him in the past. To me, this is a chance for Obama to possibly pull her across the finish and if so then save his presidency. Or he may be going up there because he HAS TO to save whatever he has left of his first term. I think that it's that serious.

So, let me ask you.  When I'm up in Massachusetts on the eve of Martin Luther King day campaigning for Martha, should I go with:  Vote for Martha because she'll be the best senator and carry on dead Ted's legacy.  Or should I say, Dr. Martin Luther King died before he had the chance to see my unprecedented election to the White House and the fulfillment of all his dreams.  I mean, Kennedy or King, it's kind of a win-win.  Oh, I'll just use both.  Thanks.

30 Someone in the ONT, for all I know, a troll, claims tweets tell him Palin may go to MA.  I hope that is not true.  At this stage, with Obamao visiting, what ya think?  A while back, it seemed like a definite bad idea.  Now, any change?

Posted by: ParisParamus at January 15, 2010 06:56 PM (Hv1Cx)

31 I believe it now to be troll talk. Unless the Brown Campaign believes that Obama has somehow come to represent "unemployment" and the toxic HCR bill. They could conceivably have gone counterintuitive and believe that Coakley's stumbles have given him an opening to bring Palin in to argue "reform" while Obama looks as if he and Coakley represent the status quo. If Palin does come in, she'd go where Brown wants her to go and basically give centrist, "the D's have too much power" speeches. And yes, the entire media would show up. Thrilla in Manila and all that. Brown and Coakley would be overshadowed, which might freeze the race and prevent any late comeback surge by Coakley. Just a thought.

36 Didn't someone post that BO drew a line in the sand and said this is the defining moment in his presidency or some other drivel?   If he believes this is a race they can't lose, and he follows through on his promise to go to campaign for caoklye and sticks to talking about coakley and the race, then maybe I will believe that this is how he feels.  I somehow believe that he won't end up going to MA, but will make sure his boots on the ground have their marching orders.  Probably, Haiti and MLK stuff will end up taking precedence over going to MA.  Maybe he will read the conservative blogs and decide that it isn't the smartest idea he has ever had.  With both hannity and rush saying "expect a last minute surprise that Brown can't refute before the voters go to the polls", makes you wonder what these two guys know that we don't.

The campaign can do it all by email, the prez never has to set foot in the state.

39 #35, the people in MA who would react postiviely to Palin are already in the game (they will be voting for Brown); the most likely effect of Palin in MA would be to incite some Dems on the fence to vote (rather than stay home).

Posted by: ParisParamus at January 15, 2010 07:42 PM (Hv1Cx)

40 Palin should take the weekend off and go fishing or something.  MA is one of the states where she has been the most damaged by the MSM and could do the most damage to Brown if she shows up.  She needs a year or two on FOX to let people get to see the real Palin, not the Tina Fey cartoon.

No one seems to be discussing the fact that if Brown wins this, he will be the new ROCK STAR of the Republican Party.  Good looking, young, down to earth, solid, sensible (with a hawt daughter), conservative.  He is our dream candidate after 3 solid years in the Senate.

@56  Relax.  Don't worry.

The Dims are spending money they'd set aside for other races.  Win.

They're scared, causing incredibly stoopid decisions (BO going is just another).  Win.

KOS frets we've learned how to organize.  Check a few moonbat sites.  The doom is palpable.  Enemy demoralized.  Win.

More Blue Dogs will see the light.  Win.

Brown wins.  I've always played a game when confronted with placing a bet.  I imagine someone is holding a gun to my head.  Choose.  Your life's at stake.  If you have an active imagination, you'd be surprised how much improved your "betting" skills improve.

This is a war.  We don't need to win every battle, but every time we create enemy casualities, we're one step closer to victory.

66 This is great and all, but let's not fool ourselves into thinking a Brown win means Obamacare is dead.   The Dems will use reconciliation to ram it through if they lose vote 60 in the Senate.  Something awful is going to reach Obama's desk no matter what.   The real question is how do we roll it back. Congress will be much different after midterms but The One will still be stinking up the Oval Office.   Waiting until he's gone might be too late.

Anyway, my comment.

I read on FR that the electronic voting system in MA is vulnerable to sabotage. I don't think Obama would say this election is a referendum on healthcare reform unless he knew he could manipulate the outcome, just as he has manipulated everything. To see just how corrupt government officials are willing to be on Obama's behalf - even with the whole world watching - go to (remove the spaces, since 5 letters is too big here)

79 The Brown Ascendancy and the Coakley Redundancy is likely very real.

Obama's (pbuh) presence in Massachusettes (sic) will garner nothing for Him or for Martha.  Obama has become the surprise President for almost the entire US voting population.  He (pbuh) has already become more redundant than has Martha to even his own party.

The only thing that will make this situation better for the non-Marxist Brown is if there is bad weather next Tuesday, preventing those dead voters from participating.

I believe, frankly, that Obama should be removed from office, for no other reason that He (pbuh) is simply incompetent, and is guiding the United States from his incompetence.
