BUMPED. Moron Meetup: Boston Edition
— LauraW

UPDATED: Location chosen. Maybe. Looks good.
-----------------------------------

CT Morons are violating natural law crossing state lines to visit with our frosty Northern brethren!

Looking good for November 13th in the Boston area.

Venue to be announced on the CT Moron messageboard later on. If you aren't already a member, please email me for an invite.

If you haven't ever been to one of these, let me assure you that these meetups are always wonderful. Your friends here are just as funny and goofy in real life as they are online. If you can possibly make it, don't miss out!

Interested? Here: ctmorons AT gmail DOOTCOOM, just fix the anti-spambot formatting and drop me an email.

What's so special about November 13th?

Is it the anniversary of Rosa Parks' bus ride?

With that said I"m going to go O/T: a bit cause I'm really confused.  I just read this:  "San Bruno police have declared the area crime scene. The National Transportation Safety Board said Friday that it has sent a four-member team to San Bruno to investigate."  link

I'm thinking of driving up to see you guys.  I was reticent to go to LauraW's cause she seems like such a nice person and I remember thinking when she put up the post for a barbecue at her house and then invited "everyone"...I thought to myself, "my God, she invited everyone and she is so nice, they're going to go so you better be nice and not go"  I know what that like, when you have an unabashed "come on over everyone moment" and then when 200 hundred of your closest friends show up you are both exhausted but exilerated the next day....but it's a hard thing to do, a huge amount of work.

60 Ah-hah, part of the NTSB's duties include pipelines (and railroads and highways, etc.) 53: Youtube is down along 280. The explosion was up on Skyline. So, if it were an attack on Youtube, they missed badly. Man, a 30-inch gas pipeline. No wonder they're talking about a crater.

Last night I read about some poor guy who had gone to an open house at his kid's school and as he was going home he saw the fire.  His kids were home doing their homework, on the other side of the fire.  The reporter never let you know whether he got to his kids and if they were ok.

88 Hey, while I got yer eyeballs curious, I didn't have a barbecue at my house.

It was actually broken out into several parties, the main one being a picnic at a park hut. Not at my house. Hey, I love you guys but...I have to be able to sleep at night.

If you had the chance to jump in before I closed down the invites, you shouldn't have missed it!! We had folks come in from CA, there were lots of Texans, CO, PA, RI, etc.
And everybody just kind of clicks.

At the end of the last night we ended up having an impromptu party out of a van in a hotel parking lot that was funny and nuts. We were there until we were well into the small hours. A local cop came to check on us a couple times and he ended up pretty much joining the party.

Great, Mimi's going to be ten that day. My kid.

I work in NYC (tug boat capt) two weeks on/two weeks off. Moron meetups in NY are always while I'm on the tug.

I keep a small yacht in Essex, CT on which my family and I stay during the summer. The CT moron meets have all been whil  I'm at work in NYC.

I live in northernmost Maine where I am likely the only moron available for meetup during winter when I'm there most.

And now a Boston meetup on my time off and, it's my kid's birthday.

Sheesh.

97 Argh -- if only it was OCTOBER 13th. I'd actually be in town then (goin' to my alma mater's homecoming game). What are the odds of a Hampton Roads (VA Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, etc) Moron Meetup happening?

Posted by: CMS2004 at September 10, 2010 10:16 AM (Zxivg)

98 I was in Austin recently, do all the women in Austin have tattoo's?

Yes, it's the law.

You guys need a Texas Moron Meetups message board.

I built a Texas Morons yahoo group. But morons, particularly Texas morons, are an inherently lazy lot.

Or we can do one there too.  I'm closer to Austin than DFW

Me, too! I'll see if I can get the morons to come to Austin.

102 At the end of the last night we ended up having an impromptu party out of a van in a hotel parking lot that was funny and nuts.

We shotgunned beers. That's the first time I've done that in probably 20 years. As Rosetta said, this was the best high school party EVER!

If you can make it to one of these (but especially the Boston one) you won't regret it. Well, after the hangover wears off anyway.

103 You know why the DC-area Morons never have a meet-up? Too many congressmen would show up looking for beer.

126 I deliberately tuned in to the first seconds of the Glenn Beck show. He did mention the NBPP thing, and indicated he'll be talking about it. The Dems love to parrot his remarks on issues they think make him sound bad, I wonder what we'll hear on this one. Here's hoping he goes "full Beck" on Holder & Co. It doesn't take much stretching to get to a point where the AG resigns. That would be a worthy accomplishment.
