— Slublog I'll bet Charlie Crist isn't giggling about this.
Charlie Crist received a bounce in the polls when he left the Republican Party to run for the U.S. Senate as an independent. New numbers suggest that the bounce for the governor is over.Imagine. An opportunistic, lying, careerist who laughed at the idea of screwing over donors who trusted him might have trouble earning the respect of voters.A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Florida finds Republican Marco Rubio with 39% support, while Crist earns 31% of the vote and Democrat Kendrick Meek trails at 18%. Twelve percent (12%) are undecided.
Two weeks ago, just after Crist announced that he was running as an independent, he held a 38% to 34% advantage over Rubio.
The full Rasmussen post notes just how weak Crist's numbers are. Might be time to start budgeting that cash, Charlie. It doesn't look as though a whole lot more is going to come in.

Oh thank God. Because if this sleazy two-faced con man managed to garner a majority...or even plurality...of support among actual voters, I might have given up on the hopes of saving our country. I'm still on the fence though.....

I personally think that Crist would do really well if he could make a couple of changes to his personality - like not being such a slimmy, sleazy, repulsive, self important, douchebag.
And, of course, if he'd acquire some convictions. That'd be good.
He'd be a shoe-in.

9 BTW, can donors start a class action lawsuit to get their donations refunded?
Wasn't this discussed after a lot of other recent changes of party affiliation and decided that it wouldn't be successful? Can't remember where though.

Anyone who gave money to Crist after the Obama Hug knew he was a RINO and was just trying to buy influence with a sitting guv.
So they deserve to lose whatever they invested in him just for being stupid, and how appropriate for the man they trusted to be the one to steal it from them.
Maybe those donors will learn some kind of lesson from this. Like Never Trust a RINO.

So. it seems that some incumbents (from both parties) who ignored their constituents have been rejected in the primaries while others who switched parties for personal political advantage are fighting for their lives. One of these also may be getting dinged for bragging about taking and keeping monies that he received for a purposes upon which he reneged. Still others are seeing core constituencies decreasing support. People who were never interested in politics are becoming active. Another politician gets elected and proceeds to do exactly what he sted he would do during his campaign, and rises to the challenges presented by a partisan media and entrenched union thugs. And thus far, his state supports him.
I'd say that at least some good is coming from the debacle of election year 2008.

See, we're FUNCTIONAL, though still clearly mentally disabled here in Florida. Thank Charlie for one thing: he's now governing so far Left he's more likely to pull from Meeks than Rubio. His veto for Big Education and the upcoming ones for Big Abortion (ultrasound bills) have sealed that deal.
Those of us who said Rubio had a great chance in the general when he was down in the polls can now climb down off the ledge. There are a lot of independent voters who think the only critical issue these days is fiscal discipline. After Charlie humiliated himself on Fox 'debating' Rubio, mostly mud-slinging, it's hard to believe anyone other than unionized teachers find Charlie to be a legitimate candidate. Charlie's answer that we could solve the entitlement bubble through cutting "waste and fraud" was positively Obamesque.

My local fishwrap had an editorial about this this race right after Crist did the Judas Shuffle. In another stunning moment of misreading the political tea leaves, they opined that Crist and Rubio would split the Republican vote and open the door for Meeks.
I commented that the editorial staff was obviously suffering from an affliction which resulted in mild mental retardation, and, furthermore, that Crist would likely drain votes from Meeks since they're both, in effect, Democrats.

Yeah, he did get canned. For "budget" reasons. Not for being so sharp that he stood out from the rest of the J-school geniuses. He's got a great corner staked out for his pencil selling business, so he's got that going for him.

I'm pretty sure any Charlie Crist post deserves a flaming sun tan lotion bottle.
I was thinking flaming skull with his orange skin still on and flaming, but then I decided that was a little gross. Maybe a little annimation going back and forth between his face and the flames.

Pickin' up 60 in November.
The mood gripping voters right now is neither anti-Democrat nor anti-incumbent.
It's dread over the struggling economy, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin said Saturday in Omaha.
The Illinois Democrat, who served in the Senate with his then-junior colleague Barack Obama, said he believes the economy is driving the public's concern.

90 Cus,
The Dow is a lot like a rude gifted child of divorce, the custodial parent claims credit for all the gifts and the non-custodial parent is responsible for all the faults.....
When the dow was climbing Barry was all over speaking up to how this showed the fundamental recovery of the economy, now that it has fallen 70% of the last several weeks it is suddenly the aftereffects of Dubya's "mismanagement"......
when young Dow Jones gets the nod from the national Honor Society when EUtopiagoes one way or the other Barry'll have custody back and control on the switch....watch.
On the "dow<>economy front.....just wait until the TARP saved banks stop aiding and abetting the T-Bill offering shell game that is going on.

It's because we have so much to make up for. The insanity that regularly comes out of Palm Beach/Broward/Miami-Dade. Being a (temporarily insane) blue state in 2008, albeit with the aid of voters like Mickey Mouse. Alan Grayson. Corinne Brown. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. I could go on and on.
We're trying though. Rubio and West are good efforts!

It won't affect Meeks' black support, but will probably depress Democratic turnout overall. They aren't going to come out for Crist, who they've spent years learning to hate, and that's bad for the Orange Avenger and good for GOP candidates from Rubio on down the ticket.
