The problem the Democrats truly face is destruction of capital.  Many (most?) of Obama's economic policies involve destruction of capital, which are symptomatic of ......socialism?

The buyout/cramdown of Chrysler and GM. Destruction of the capital of the senior bond holders.

Mis-use of the TARP funds.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac continue to operate at a loss.  They have combined to destroy the private bank home-finance business.  Is there any wonder that banks are failing, as the government subsidizes Fannie and Freddie (allowing them to keep losing money-destroying capital) while simultaneously destroying private banks.  It's a two-fer!

Cash for clunkers.  Destroying used cars turned in, which actually had some market value.

Cap and Trade. Not law yet, but passed the House.  The EPA may move to control "greenhouse gases" on its own and destroy more market value.

And of course, the incipient greatest entitlement/capital destruction of all, Health Care Reform.

Obama and the associated Democrat Party intentionally miss every kind of market signal that their economics policies are WRONG.

And that is the message that many Americans are getting, even if they do not partake of deep-thinking economic analysis. Carville can't wave a magic wand and change the message that the Obama Administration has been sending out loud and clear since the beginning.

It's always easy to "Bash Bush", but the deficit spending he tolerated or allowed was mostly linked to the Iraq war and buying a fraction of votes from Democrats to allow it to continue.  The price of....victory?

The ad syndication system fills in any ad spots Ace doesn't sell.  Because it is smart, it analyzes page content to match ads to the blog post subject matter.  Any post that talks about the Democrats, Republicans and elections is going to snag ads for political campaigns, and the ad syndication system doesn't care which side of the issue the blog post takes.

Since that particular poll doesn't mention the breakdown of voters (how many R/D/I's there were) or how they weighted the numbers, I wouldn't set much store in that outfit's poll (SurveyUSA, I believe).

Between now and November 2nd, there will be lots of misleading poll numbers put out there to try and gin up support with the Democrat voters.  Given the enthusiasm on the Republican side, I'd be willing to bet that many seats that are currently D will switch to R.

If these polling outfits are shown to be too "off", they may find themselves with no business in the next election cycle.  They aren't doing themselves any favors by skewing the numbers for the result that they want to see. 

Granted, this election cycle is unlike anything anyone has seen in their lifetime, so these outfits may be adjusting because they can't believe that the numbers they are seeing are correct.

Of course, they could also be using the "East Anglia" methodology of manipulating the data......

The year before that is the one they should be pointing to... because it is CONGRESS that spends money.

So next time you are sitting anywhere near a Dembot and they repeat this one, come back with, "So, since it costs the taxpayers a dollar to provide one dollar of food stamps, what you're saying is that we're paying a dollar and getting effectively 72 cents worth of spending".
