I must have missed that speech.

Chris! Sound familiar, buddy?
Wiki facists:
They claim that culture is created by the collective national society and its state, that cultural ideas are what give individuals identity, and thus they reject individualism. Viewing the nation as an integrated collective community, they see pluralism as a dysfunctional aspect of society, and justify a totalitarian state as a means to represent the nation in its entirety. They advocate the creation of a single-party state. Fascists reject and resist the autonomy of cultural or ethnic groups who are not considered part of the fascists' nation and who refuse to assimilate (tea-baggers) or are unable to be assimilated. They consider attempts to create such autonomy as an affront and a threat to the nation. Fascist governments forbid and suppress opposition to the fascist state and the fascist movement.

So, I'm announcing my "Boycott all posts showcasing Chris Matthews" program. From now on, when I see a post about CM, I'll just have a drink and move to a different blog for a while. No offense. Unless you have some cheerleaders up. That could change things. We all get a tingle from something.

Jane, Jane, Jane. If the Republicans get control of the House or Senate or both, and get a Republican elected to the White House in 2012, this will be a NEW LEASE ON LIFE for MSNBC, because the paranoia on the left will greatly increase and their niche audience will tune in to hear the crazy. Nothing fosters more viewership or readership than the belief that their little paranoia is real. I'd take all that in a minute. I hope that MSNBC is still bat-shit crazy in 2020, and the Republicans control both Houses of Congress and the White House, and we live in a realm of fiscal responsibility and steady economic growth.

Here's the latest crap from Kos I got in my e-mail:
*********************
Dear Daily Kos community member,
Conventional wisdom is that Democrats are doomed in the 2010 elections. And yes, by all indications, things look bleak.
So how do we react? I suppose we could surrender to our new tea party overlords. If we show enough deference, maybe they'll take mercy, and allow us to keep a constitutional amendment or two.
But that's not how we roll at Daily Kos. Instead, we're going on the attack.
We're going to make Republicans defend their Senate seat in Kentucky, where Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway is pushing Civil Rights Act opponent Rand Paul to the limit. Can you contribute $10 to Jack Conway, and make the tea party play some defense this fall?
There is perhaps no clearer contrast anywhere in the country -- between a Democrat who believes government can make people's lives better, and a Republican who hasn't met a government program he doesn't hate.
As Attorney General, Jack Conway has proven he can win statewide. He supports Elizabeth Warren to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and wants to change Senate rules to make a filibuster a real filibuster.
Today, Conway is holding a moneybomb. Let's helping out by finding 500 people to donate $10 to his campaign, and beat tea party favorite Rand Paul.
Join the fight -- contribute $10 to Jack Conway now.
Every dollar we force Republicans to spend playing defense is a dollar they won't spend trying to take over Congress. Every tea party candidate we defeat is a blow to the narrative that the far right is on the rise.
If Conway can win this race in Kentucky, in a tough year for Democrats, it will send a message that voters want government that works for them, rather than no government at all. You can help send that message with your $10 contribution to Jack Conway today.
****************************
In addition to being a hint of what is probably not a very hard to figure out strategy, it warms my balls to read lamentations of this woman who was talking about permanent victories and other such bullshit when the Dems rolled into town.

O/T (Again):
Yahoo News is getting worse. You'd think that some of these companies would hire some people that would recognize the shitty business model that is heavily biased "journalism" when they're trying to break into the news market.
I was reading along and thinking "wow, no mention of Climate Change™ or Global Warming", until I hit it halfway through. At least they've learned to bury the bullshit in the middle.
"Until recently, scientists were careful to say that any single natural disastrous climate event, such as the Russian drought or Hurricane Katrina, could not be attributed to global warming."
Until recently??? In what fucking universe? More bullshit at the link.
Here we go. AGW Theory is falling apart, so instead of stepping back and doing some honest research the new approach is going to go past hysterics and demogoguery to total, outright fear mongering.

When a man loves Obama
Can't keep his mind on nothing else
He'll trade the world
For the good thing he's found
If he's bad he can't see it
He can do no wrong
Turn his back on his best friend
If he put him down
When a man loves Obama
Spend his very last ounce of respect
Tryin' to hold on to the thrill he feels
He'd give up all his integrity
Sleep out in the rain
If he said that's the way it ought to be
Well, this man loves Obama
I gave him everything I had
Tryin' to hold on to your precious love
Baby, please don't treat me bad
When a man loves Obama
Down deep in his soul
He can bring him such leg-thrills
If he plays him for a fool
He's the last one to know
Lovin' eyes can't ever see
When a man loves Obama
He can do no wrong
He can never pretend to be taken seriously again.
Yes when a man loves Obama
I know exactly how he feels
'Cause Bambi, Bambi, Bambi, you're my world

No, it's a weird dealio.
Most of these media dinosaurs were shrieking that Reagan was an illiterate boob, back in the day, when they had to fight to get into the pack, or shrilly insisting that he was an addled octogenarian after the fact.
Too bad that Obama's persona as an author forced them to actually read some shit.

aw thanks....not everyone on WS is a bad apple. I think everyone knows they are going to be affected by the economic climate one way or another. Almost everyone I speak with says "well I'm working now, but who knows if I'll still have my job next year" which is why our "service economy" thank you bill c. is tanking. People are afraid to buy anything they really really really don't need. Even friends with their own practices are seeing a big slowdown. Not so much the doctors, depending on specialty, but the dentists and orthodontists. You end up having an entire practice of union members' kids cause they get braces. My great gram lived through the depression. She would carefully unwrap a present and save the wrapping paper to use again. She would put rubber bands on her silverware and only use the number of sets she needed to make sure it wouldn't get lost. She would gently remind you if you were being wasteful when really you were growing up in a world that had forgotten the depression. And she could make lentil soup and past e fagioli seem like a feast. You worry for people with kids and houses and uncertainty.
