Somehow news of this is not suprising to me -- still, I question the timing.  She doesn't exactly come off as the downtrodden victim that she's always being portrayed as.

As for hitting women: ah, even as a woman I have to say "no, it's not right, but sometimes men have a good reason to".  I say this because I've seen quite a few women do all manner of outrageous bullshit, including striking the man in question, and then scream bloody murder if they get so much as a nudge.  Bullshit I say.  Doing so makes the rest of us look like a bunch of shrewish little pussies (which we are not, or shouldn't be) and completely devalues women who are real victims of real abuse.  It's kinda like the way rape has been totally stripped of its meaning imho.

If my husband had tried even a quarter of the crap Edwards had, then he would be dog food (but dog food that would have suffered first) -- likewise for me; live by the sword, die by it, goose-gander and all that equality stuff.

Without an independent witness who will dies instantly if he or she lies, I refuse to believe anything either of these lying scumbags say. Why you would believe St. Liz, a dissembling sack of shit who apparently left her husband only when she realized he was about to shower his whore and bastard with marital money, escapes me. Elizabeth Edwards personifies the word "cunt" as much as her husband John personifies the word "motherfucker." There is nothing that could make me sympathetic toward either one of them and that includes forced viewings of the defunct "Friends" series.

Clearly, l'affaire Hunter is hardly the first affair he's had, and quite likely not the first she was aware of.  It sounds like she's pissed because she hitched herself to a rising star, swallowed her pride with the previous undisclosed affairs and his scumbagginess for the purposes of keeping his "career" (and her would be D.C socialite future) intact, and is now pissed off because that star went supernova and collapsed into a black hole.

Too bad, so sad.  This is what happens if you marry vile cheating scumbags and don't have the sense to pull the eject handle when you first realize they're a vile cheating scumbag.  Vile cheating scumbag is NOT a disease that can be cured; that's a fundamental character flaw.
