At this point, I think Coakley's best option is to legally change her name on the ballot to "Zombie Ted Kennedy".

He says Coaxley's campaign is panicking and was pleading for Captain Wonderful to come save her - hence his late decision to come. He's projecting Brown by 2-3.
I really want to believe this is going to happen. But this is Massachusetts and I won't believe it until Scott is declared the winner.

Ted Kennedy would be voting for Martha Coakley, but Mary Jo Kopechne would give the nod to Scott Brown, and would not be pleased with the Ted Kennedy Seat going to a Marxist/socialist.

I like this Coakley gal. She kept those Amirault people in prison when she knew they were innocent. Heh heh. I'd even consider letting the ghost of Ted Kennedy out on a day pass to campaign for her. Unfortunately, he's in the back seat of an Oldsmobile right now, and it just went into the drink.

If they go that route, the current 25-30 seat pickup could start looking like 65-70. Remember, the "progressives" still control 48 seats McCain won in a terrible year for Republicans. Imagine a good year for us. Landslide wouldn't do it justice.

Posted by: laceyunderalls at January 15, 2010 02:33 PM (mnUi/)
2008 Senate election (Presidential year) was about 3M votes in MA, turnout around 62%. It's a special election which should decimate turnout, but let's be sporting and knock that down to 50% - 2.5M votes - so every 1% represents about 25K votes.
Even in MA I don't think they could manage to conger so many as 50K dead/double/tripple votes in an election with 50% turnout, and we'll know if the turnout is "Presidential" that day (remember, it's the day after a holiday and snow is in the forecast for the day before). That's 2%.
So if on election night Scott is up at least 3% (say 50-47) then I think US Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) is a reality.
But I'd feel much better if it were something like 53 Brown 46 What's her name. Much. Better.

Makes me wish McCain/Palin could have been so well organized.
Rudy Giuliani campaigned today with Scott Brown in the North End of Boston. They talked about the need to keep America safe from terrorists.
You can help Scott Brown by volunteering at one of our 10 regional offices, by making an online donation, or by making calls from home.

We donÂ’t care who this offends, because itÂ’s true: Republican men in the 20-35 year age range are little punk-ass bitches.
This is something we discovered working with the Young Republicans here in Chicago when we ran Democrats for McCain efforts here in 2008, and something we see so clearly whenever we go to Redstate or Ace of Spades to read the comments left on articles there. The articles, mainly, are great (except those written by Erik Erikson at Redstate, because he’s very much an Eeyore himself, though he doesn’t realize it), but the COMMENTS — Great Merciful Zeus, we’d love to slap silly so many of the guys writing on those sites. They have no idea what little khaki-pants, blue blazered, whine in their mothers’ basements babies they are.
We wish and wish others of you out there would start calling these guys out as the Eeyores they are and get them to shut up, with the endless negativity and defeatism.Posted by: Eye-rish at January 15, 2010 02:35 PM (cVJwC)

Suozzi, a one-time New York State (NYS) Democratic gubernatorial candidate and recently ousted two-term Nassau County Executive, has been hired by Bethpage-based Cablevision as a consultant to its Local Media Group, according to an internal all-staff memo obtained by the Press."
The other guy who lost his county executive seat to a republican was Spano. Still looking to see if he joined the media too.

Scott is leading by 3, 4 and 15 points in three polls, one of them Coakley's own poll.
In MA you have to register two weeks before the election. Scott started surging after the cut off. No new fake voters can be created. The Democrats were expecting an easy run, Coakley didn't do much campaigning until recently and it is all negative and about Brown and it seems to have had the opposite of the desired effect.
They did not expect a competitive race so no need to create fake voters, no need to draft up a plan to rig the eleciton, no need to prepare to stuff absentee ballots. Their Fraud consists of what they had on the books previously and what they can create this close to an election.
Yes, this is MA, but Brown has won as an under-dog before and in special elections.

I don't think there is much to worry about in crticism from there.
The U.S. government in World War II disagreed with you. That's why they had posters telling people to zip their lips. When fighting a war, morale is as important as your weapons. On every conservative site, commenters and posters are saying, "Ain't gonna happen. Hate to be the adult here, folks, but you're all dreaming. Even if he wins, we still lose."
Do you think General Petreaus rallied his troops in their perceived-as-impossible mission by telling them that he was a hard-headed, hard-assed realist who hated to burst their silly little dreams, but they couldn't win?
Or did he keep his doubts to himself and put his heart and soul into winning? The Eeyores don't actually care about anything except their pose of a world-weary, hard-bitten cynic sneering at us dopey children. They're no different from the retired military bozos who went on all the news stations and said the war in Iraq was lost, or was being fought stupidly, or all the other things that most of the commenters here decried.
I saw a short film from 1942 called Mr. Blabbermouth, that had a guy who went around and told everyone he could that the Japanese were unbeatable. He destroyed morale and made the enemy happy. That's the point the Hillbuzz guys are making, and it's completely valid.
Does Scott Brown rally the troops by telling them that they can't win in Massachusetts? How about putting a lid on the "realism" until after the election? There's really no point at all in telling us that he can't win, or that the Dems are as unbeatable as the Japanese in 1942. It serves no purpose except to stoke your own sense of self-importance. Those of us who are optimistic don't need you to reel us in. If we're going to be disappointed, so be it. It's none of your business. What you are doing, though, with your "realism," is demoralizing people who might otherwise contribute or even pick a phone for Brown, so why don't you can it until after the election, okay?

Yes, and in defense on HillBuzz, they have posted an article that if she was doing this same commie crap that the Marxist in the WH is doing, they would be working to kick Hillary out as well. I kid you not. (and Hillary would have been much more stealthy in getting all this socialist agenda in... little bites at a time, the overall detrimental effect would have been the same. But Hillary is NOT weak on defense & national security (unlike her husband), what she does now is protraying Mr.I want-to-have-tea-with-Iran's-leader policies. I wish she would quit, she will be tied into his policies.
I just read the post that was posted above, I don't think Hillbuzz when were speaking off 25-35 yr old repub male, they were speaking of the US military, they are staunch supporters of the US military and all those who serve, they are speaking of the Republican party, and the complacency of the repub party machine.

Eye-rish, there is a place for doing that.
When it comes to the comments section of this place though, I (and I believe a lot of people) come here to debate people, dick around, and have fun. That includes letting some steam off when I think we're screwing up and arguing when I think others are focusing in the wrong direction.
The internal debates are what give vitality to the right and what makes political discussions on sites like this interesting. It's also a big difference between us and a lot of the Dems--who seem to limit their debates to how they can win. I have contempt for that and that won't change.
If that's all I wanted, there are a million other sites I could go to have that. I could just spend all day watching Sean Hannity. There's no reason to have 1000+ comment thread over that; it would get boring very quickly.
The back and forth, the arguing over whether we're f'ing up or going in the right direction, is a key thing that makes sites like this interesting and it'd just be pointless to come here without it.
Posted by: AD at January 15, 2010 03:44 PM (RLdOH)
Re-read the post. Nobody said the whole site was nothing but worthless pussies. The post said there were too many Eeyores and defeatists. If you're not one of them, then you have nothing to be upset about.
But even if you are upset, I don't care. We're both doing the same thing--thrashing defeatists. The only thing that matters to me is discrediting those who say Brown can't win. Your opinion of me is a matter of total indifference to me.

Why were the valiant forces at Hillbuzz taking valuable time away from the ferocious battles that only they are fighting, to quibble over the charges going back and forth of misogyny and homophobia...over the use of the word Mary?
Why, one would think they are not sufficently committed to the task! Have loose lips, and whatever else you threw into your Bluto rant earlier.

Er, Blazer, too much visual.
Maybe we could just do a "smell" test. Think she can fart French Vanilla also?

We really do appreciate your current political position however, All sixty Dem senators voted for Obamacare. 100%. Add to that 88% of Dem houser reps. Has Hillary or Bill opposed Obama care? No.
I hope you stay here, but I question how much damage will have to be done the party rank and file to realise that this is what the Democrats now are. If they do not wake up we will be fighting a very long time. Perhaps, to the death.

Couldn't you guys start off talking about your gun collection first and ease into the crowd a little? Okay, you live in Chicago and the Dems won't let you have a gun collection. How about a little car talk? Okay, you live at Clark and Diversey and don't even own a car. How about a little BBQ talk? Okay, you're a vegan. Okay, uh, anything good playing at the Bijou??

Brown's a "RINO" because he's pro-choice. Let's face facts, we kinda brought this on ourselves. We've never been able to clearly articulate what/who is deemed acceptable to our party and what is not.
Therefore if your a candidate and you don't adopt every single one of the major platforms be prepared to wear the "Hello, my name is RINO" tag.
And that's generally speaking.
However, the thought of unseating "The Kennedy Seat" and giving BHO and his commie pink agenda the big middle finger is reason enough for the most strident conservaties to throw 110% of their support to Brown.

Democrats are a talented group. You have to give them credit. Politically, policy-wise, they are utter failures. Yet they manage to control the government now and for most of the 20th century.
Their tactics are impressive. One on hand, Scott Brown is an extreme rightwinger just like Dick Cheney. On the other hand, Brown is a liberal!
I figured it out a long time ago, and it's actually very simple. Democrats use what I call the Shit/Wall strategy.
They throw a bunch of shit (accusations, smears, lies, distortions, etc) at the candidate and see what sticks. It can be contradictory or perhaps even ridiculous. But the idea is just to put the idea in people's heads to create a sort of imprint. It's political psy-ops and it's effective.

#325 Vyceroy, to keep your spirits up, I offer you these fine words from Limbaugh today:
RUSH: I mentioned earlier I was going to take a one-year look-back at the Republican Party, the GOP. Let's do it now.
The fact is that when the Republican Party and conservatives were at their lowest morale, 12 months ago, when they were completely out of sorts and near panic, it was I, and others, who stood up and insisted that we get back to basics, that we advance conservative principles, the only principles that had the answers for our time. That we relearn them; that we become confident in them; that we spread them; that we push back against the moderate Republicans who had nearly killed the party; that we reinvigorate the conservative movement, which had been left to die by successive Republican administrations and Congresses.
We fought the David Brookses, the David Frums, the Colin Powells, the Tom Ridges. We fought some on our own side who proclaimed the death of Reaganism and Goldwaterism and insisted that we become more like those who defeated us. They urged that we drop the matters of small government, tax cuts, and limits on spending. They urged that we embrace global warming and amnesty for illegal aliens.
They told us we had become a regional party. They told us we had become a white man's party, that we either change and became more like our adversaries or we would perish.
We heard this from the self-appointed sages who claimed to be conservative leaders and Republican leaders. We heard it from so-called conservative columnists and commentators. And of course we heard it from the liberal media and their favorite liberal Republican guests. We were being assaulted with the notion that conservatism was out of date and out of time. The only way we could win was to become moderate, to attract independents and Democrats to our party. We've gotta drop the incivility of our discourse. We've gotta stop being divisive.
Our own people were telling us this just a year ago, and they were wrong. They were all wrong. On this program, we refused to accept the death of conservatism. On the contrary, my attitude, my position was to make our case for conservatism better than ever before, because it was the only thing that could save our society. I said then, as I do now, that it was and is crucial to expose Obama and his allies, to defeat them, to insist that they fail, which I knew they would, and to offer the nation an alternative, not watered-down arguments, not tweaks of their premises, not apologies. We don't need to apologize for ourselves. We don't need to excuse ourselves. We need to offer a real, solid, understandable alternative. And that was and is conservatism.
Yes, Obama is failing. In fact, he has failed. His presidency is a failure. I knew it would be because I knew his policies were exactly the wrong policies for this nation. They were and are destructive to our institutions. They were and are intended to be destructive. I knew this was his intention, because I know liberals, and I know his kind of radical. I knew this was his intention. I knew he was inexperienced and incompetent despite the endless praise about his smarts, about his wisdom, about his cool, calm demeanor. I knew that he was stubborn and arrogant as well, because leftists are all stubborn, conceited, and arrogant.
But, my friends, to be honest, it's not enough to say that his failures are the reason for the swift and deep change in American attitudes toward government and the Democrats. A case has to be made. And a case was made that our founding principles are more relevant, more significant, more necessary now at a time when our nation's core is under assault than any time in recent memory.
I mean we are a great nation at risk in a dangerous world. And for the first time in my lifetime the greatest threat we face is internal. You conservatives out there, you have carried the message, you have made the case, you have attended rallies, you have attended town hall meetings, you've made telephone calls, you've sent letters, faxes, you've e-mailed, you have made your voices heard, not only to the politicians who seek to diminish you, but you have taken the case to your family and friends, which is crucial. It's necessary. It's made a huge difference. I've suggested that you all become the go-to person in your family, whenever anybody has a political question, you be the one that has the answer, rooted in conservative principles that you can articulate with persuasive confidence.
But despite all that we've done and all that you've done, there's much more to do and there's much more that will be done.
We have a huge election in November where we either throw out scores of statists, elitists, and slow down, if not halt, Obama's burning of the Constitution, or we reverse course and allow the Democrats to continue to run wild and drag down the nation.

Margaret Sanger was a Socilaist and Progressive, not a conservative. She was a eugenicist ESPECIALLY interested in providing birth control to the Lower Orders (i.e., dark-skinned populace). See Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism".

One tells me that the most recent internal poll of the Scott Brown campaign shows the Republican winning byÂ… 11 percentage points. IÂ’m getting the sense that the folks hearing this are almost a little incredulous, but it seems every demographic and key group is breaking to Brown in the past day or two. For weeks, Brown and everyone around him has said they will campaign and work as if theyÂ’re 30 percentage points down. But it seems like the campaign has been one Coakley stumble after another, and you figure that would eventually start effecting the numbers. According to that measure, itÂ’s starting to break heavily in BrownÂ’s directionÂ… but weÂ’ll have to see what the final few days bringÂ…
One problem passed on by one of my sources is the sense that Coakley is increasingly seen as a de facto incumbent, what with Democrats controlling the White House, both Houses of Congress, and for that matter, the entire state government in Massachusetts. A frustrated voter fed up with the status quo canÂ’t easily communicate their impatience and anger by giving the nod to the party that is currently running the show.
If he wins by 10, it means Â… what? Five Senate Blue Dogs flip on ObamaCare? 20 new Democratic retirements? The return of Cthulhu? What?

Actually I do this every year. You can not burn fat if you drink like the morons. The liver must process the alcohol first before it will process the fat.
It takes me about 4 weeks on the wagon and exercising to really drop the weight. I'll lose 35 pounds in 2 months, but I work like shit at it. My blood pressure goes down 30 points. I work out twice a day, weights at lunch cardo at 5, keeps me out of bar.
3500 calories in a pound. You burn 12 to 15 times your weight a day, depending on your muscle mass. Simple, calories eaten minus calories burned. I try to keep a 1800 to 1500 a day deficit, thus I lose a pound every two days.
Get to work!

I have. I only have two switches, on or off. I am lucky that I am in great shape, except, I fuck off and don't work out for a month or two and gain weight, just like I lose it. About a 2 pounds a week. I am not a spring chick, I need to force my body to burn the calories, it's old!

Yeah! What are we made of? Our fathers came across the prairies, fought Indians, fought drought, fought locusts, fought Dix... remember when Richard Dix came in here and tried to take over this town? Well, we didn't give up then... and by gum, we're not going to give up now!
