CoffeeParty About As Much As Hip, Happenin' Party As You Expected
— Ace

Stuff you'd hear about if these were Republicans:

1) The white rapper is awful. His tough rhymes have the "gritty authenticity of Boulder, CO, suburbs' ice rinks and Lazer-Tag parks."

2) The white blue-hairs in the audience have trouble finding a beat to clap to, which isn't entirely their fault. Eventually they all seem to agree on a simplistic 1/2 time clap, which isn't really right at all, but at least they're all on the same page in being wrong. It's kind of embarrassing early on when you have eleven or twelve distinct attempts at a time-signature being clapped.

Something else:

1) Gee, for a "moderate" answer to the Tea Party, they seem to be using the chants of the Old Left, and the rapper sure seems big on leftwing agitprop!

Anyway, this is the big fat CoffeeParty that was so huge that CNN had to do sixteen bazillion lead stories on it. At Hot Air, the story of the national convention that no one heard about.

But below, MC TrustFund and DJ PhillipsExeter.

- if what you're looking for is just in this thread, Ctrl+F is the Find function in IE and FireFox, and probably most browsers under Windows. (On a Mac, it's Command+F, I think)

- if it's in all of Ace's comments, go to Google and type:

;" align="left">Weeks go by, and the janitors are reveling in their lack of shit cleaning. But after a while, the elephant looks sick. They decide to remove the cork to save it. But no one wants to be the one pulling it out. So again they plan. Again, they each have an idea;

He goes up to the sick elephant, and pulls as hard as he can... Nothing. He is too tiny to pull it out himself. The ingenious janitors figure they will all pull on a rope at the same time as the monkey is pulling on the cork.

;" align="left">Guy #1 stands 200 ft away, Guy #2 150 ft, Guy #3 100 ft and Guy #4 50 ft away.

;" align="left">On the count of three, the pull in unison with the monkey. 1...2...3.... SPLAT Shit flies everywhere.

;" align="left">Guy #1 brushes the pieces of shit off of him and goes up to Guy#2. He is crying because he us covered to his knees in elephant shit. Once removed from the shit, they both go to Guy#3.

;" align="left">He is bawling because he is covered in shit to his chest. They remove him and realize that Guy #4 is covered over his head in elephant shit.

;" align="left">They run up to the pile of shit covering him. All three frantically uncover Guy#4 expecting the worst.

;" align="left">Guy#4 is laughing hysterically. They look at each other in astonishment. Finally they ask, "Why are you laughing? You are completely covered in elephant shit." He responds, "You should've seen the monkey try to put the cork back in!"

They actually think that they can distort the construct of society so far that there will no longer be norms for beautiful and ugly.  We'll all be the same.  Like those Dove soap commercials with the fat homely chicks.  That's what they're trying to do.  Sad.  Because fat will kill a lady just as fast as it will a man.  They also think that by trying to be "better" looking by having some rudimentary hygiene skills they are somehow conforming to a man's idea of how things should be.  You would think they would eventually die out due to lack of breeding partners but lie my dad used to say,  for every scrubby horse,  there's a scrubby bush to tie it to.

246 As a conservative, I am alarmed at how the administration has polarized the country. No, the rap video is not perfect, but there is something to the idea of civilty behind the Coffee Party. I read the Civility Pledge at their official site and was sufficiently impressed to take it, and make a small donation. I have the general sense that the Tea Party outrage has peaked and that with their convention, the Coffee Party is in the ascendency. They're promoting the Fair Elections Act, which is a laudable, non-partisan cause. I think I'll sit out the current cycle and vote in one of the fair elections that occurs after the passage of that legislation.

Dunno about the boob jobs, but the best way to reduce eating disorders in girls is to not have their daddies, brothers or uncles molest them.

Seriously, I'd bet 90% of girls with eating disorders are abuse victims. If there's one thing that normal girls seem unfazed by these days, it's being chubby. There are more muffin tops in the average high school than a Hostess factory.

I think you're right.  The eating disorder thing is a way to regain control over your own body,  in a very unhealthy way,  to make up for something that happened.  Some of it is also copy cats trying to have some drama.  That was bigger in the hay day of anorexia with all the fucking made for tv movies and shit.

Today fat is the problem.  But with people saying fat is beautiful and not wanting to tell some kid to get off their ass and shed a few pounds and maybe get to the point where they can run for more than 30 seconds without passing out,  it ain't gonna change soon.

267 I like big government and I will not lie
You other Marxists can't deny
That when Obama walks in and spreads the wealth about
That you never had a doubt
You get hard
Wanna pull that race card
Cuz you notice those ballots were stuffed
Deep in the ACORN community organizing meeting
I'm hooked and I can't stop cheating
Oh, Sarah Palin I wanna get ya
And take your retard baby's picture
Andrew Sullivan tried to warn me
But that accent you got
Make Me so angry
Ooh, politician of mocha skin
You say you wanna take my neighbor's money
Well use me use me cuz I love that government honey

I've seen media spinnin'
That's how we get to winnin'
We lie, deny, cook the stories like a bag of fries

I'm tired of capitalists
Saying free markets are the thing
Take the average black man and ask him that
Don't he know whitey gotta pay him back

So Leftists (yeah) Leftists(yeah)
Has your neighbor got some cash? (hell yeah)
Well shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake that healthy wallet
Baby got OUR cash

I like 'em busy working jobs
And when I come with the union mob
I just can't help myself
I'm stealing like a common thief
From me there's no relief

I wanna take your home
And UH, double up UH UH
I aint talkin bout just healthcare
Gonna slap you with Cap and Trade
I want those taxes real thick and juicy
And get that deficit doubled
Get your economy in trouble
Take advantage of that crisis bubble
So I'm lookin' at classroom propaganda videos
Helpin these teachers making the legend grow
Getting the children of my foes
Believing in this bullshit Hope
A word to the feminist sistas
I wanna get with ya
I'll kill some babies for ya
But I gotta be straight when I say I wanna take
Til the break of dawn
Get the Revolution goin on
A lot of Tea Baggers won't like this song
Cuz them punks like to work and pay their way
But I'd rather stay and play
Cuz I'm lazy anyway
And I'm down to get the stealing on

So Lefties (yeah), Lefties (yeah)
Do you wanna roll in my spending spree? (yeah)
Then turn around
Time to vote
Even white boys love that Hope
Baby got OUR cash

Yeah lefties
When it comes to elections
Truth ain't got nothin to do with my selection
Gimme gimme gimme
Even if you take from him to give to me

So your girlfriend's voting for McCain
Even though it brings her pain
But McCain ain't got that media
My whores suck me dry, take my jizz right in the eye
Bury all my dirt, they never gonna come after this guy
Some bloggers wanna play that hard role
And tell you I'm an America-hating a-hole
So they toss it and leave it
And I pull up quick to retrieve it
So Axelrod says you're Hope and Change deniers
Filthy racist liars
Cuz your readership is small and the media licks my balls
Leg thrills for them all
To the hard working middle class man
You the target of this plan
Redistribution I can't resist it
Reparations if you missed it
Some insurance knuckleheads tried to dis
They and Wall Street on my list
They gave me votes but I chose to hit 'em
And pulled up secretly to get with 'em
So leftists if you want some cash come round
And you wanna triple X throw down
Dial 1-900-Obama and embrace them nasty thoughts
Baby they got OUR cash
Baby they got OUR cash
Little Brother it's about little more

Senior citizens are the most reliable voters, and they may well encourage participation among the ordinarily apathetic college crowd. And the Coffee Party already has the middle all wrapped up. I remember going to my grandparent's home in the 80's. Grampa said, "Boys, do you want a cup of coffee? If you do, we can go down to the cafe where they serve Folgers. All you Gramma has in this house is that foo-foo flavored crap they grind at the store these days. Tastes like crap. Damn shame a man has to go uptown to get a decent cup of coffee!"

I don't have to go uptown for mine.

274 So, basically, they got together to parody / counter a movement called the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party that pushes for fiscal responsibility and adherence to the Constitution.

By calling themselves the "Coffee (no acronym) Party" and having a few meetings where they, um, mirror one political party's rhetoric blandly, and complain about how mean other people are.

Is there a way in which that is not a truly historic, hours-long poetic recitation-level EPIC fail?

I mean, could they at least have had an acronym? A comprehensible goal?

I mean, the entire thing sounds completely phoned-in - the next video of a "Coffee Party" we see I half-expect to see nothing but a room full of telephones on speaker.
