Comics Noting Leftwing Media Is Sort of Laughable
— Ace

Well, both critiques apply to FoxNews, too. But CNN is specifically called out in the SNL sketch.

First, SNL mocks CNN for "interactive reporting," which means reading idiots' Tweets and Facebook messages as "news." Like, because, they're more professional 'n stuff than bloggers. BTW, when I call out a comment, it's never just venting. It's a longer thing making a real point, or it's funny. All CNN does is repeat the "rah rah"/"I"m outraged" kind of stuff.

The Onion meanwhile calls out cable news for running "Breaking News" stuff all day about silly bullshit. A fair amount of cursing here, and I have to give you another warning: You're probably going to see a commercial for Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story if you play it.

Breaking News: Some Bullshit Happening Somewhere

Funny, but an inarguable ripoff of the British parody. Also with some cursing:

Since I'm linking SNL, I guess I should link their cold-open from this weekend's show, in which they state, repeatedly, and accurately, the health care plan is massively unpopular. But I guess that hurt them too much to say, so at the end, they state, inaccurately, that Obama himself is still wildly popular.

3 SNL has actually made me laugh this year, maybe it's because the Dems are such a target rich environment and they can't resist skewering them.

You know what's funnier than anything?

Insert any fucknut Dem opening their mouth and having it captured on youtube.

The Onion, SNL et al have been outsourced to the reality of our current political climate.

5 You're probably going to see a commercial for Michael Moore's Capitalism: A Love Story if you play it.

I love it (in that heavy irony kinda way) when a capitalistic venture like The Onion uses a market capitalism device (advertising) to promote another capitalistic venture (a for-profit movie) that promotes anti-capitalism.

6 "Do our jobs for us" that was classic. I can't decide if I like the SNL CNN riff or the Onion one better. Both were loaded with humor.

And hey, you know what else isn't funny? Anything out of that hag Kathy Griffin's mouth.

Usually when a woman is that fugly she has a sense of humor or smarts to fall back on. Poor broad. No wonder she holds onto such rage.

Toss in Margaret Cho and Rosie O'Donnell. Same circumstances, different broads.

9 Is that Kristen Wiig playing Nancy Pelosi?

That's too bad...for Wiig.

11  Oh please. You're my fb friend. You've got all three.

The trifecta of awesomeness. Of course the fact that you're a conservative goddess doesn't hurt.

24 I have great enthusiasms for SNL...at least they are ranking (although not super funny) on the leftist ALMOST as much as the repubes. We'll see what happens when the so-called Republican Soo-nami happens in November.

28 I'd be willing to bet a substantial sum (as much as $1.57) that if the Onion News Network were on cable they would dominate the ratings, likely even outpacing Fox News.

36 Way back 1980, I bought a piece of shit 1976 Toyota Corona (supposedly the premium brand at the time). This was the year that catalytic converters appeared due to federal legislation. A whole lot of horseshit was offered up by the various media at the time that Toyota was a stellar god type of auto. I had multiple problems with ignition, starting, and acceleration.

I discovered from a Toyota-trained Japanese national in a local SoCal repair shop that discovered problems with the electronic ignition unit. This guy was smart, sharp, and he fixed my problem.

My catalytic convertor problem was more difficult: Toyota had under designed
the exhaust manifolds for that model ( I was working for turbocharger/exhaust manufacturer at the time, so I know a couple of things about casting heat absorbing media) and Toyota had completely fucked up the casting design for their exhaust manifolds.

I fought these bastards over a hidden provision in the California State Code: if a product is mis-designed, it is a latent defect. I wound up paying for one of their fuckups, but I was able to compel them to pay for a second. It's my opinion that our asshole MSM ignores whatever it wants to ignore. These bastards are selectively dishonest.
