— Dave in Texas Ever seen a Congressman bored with his constituents?
Call me crazy here, but I don't think Pete is all that concerned about border security (or his re-election bid, which is safe).
But for the record I'll note that while condescending and arrogant, he didn't threaten to throw the Minuteman out the window.
When you shut up and learn something, he might be willing to talk to you.

We all know that the people who WOULD go thru the government like an armored Cat dozer thru St. Pancake, and get rid of all the bullshit that is killing this country, be it laws, regs, agencies, whatthefuckever, say and do what needs to be said and done and fuck to death those who don't like it, are not insane enough to want to put themselves and their families thru the process of it all.
What happens when we wind up with more of the same corruptible assholes always find ourselves stuck with, what do we do then??

Only a politician who assumes he has a job for life could behave so badly on a semi-regular basis by spewing personalized invective that might get him punched in certain East Bay taverns. Would-be challengers sometimes sense a whiff of opportunity, but the reality of taking on a 16-term Democrat in solidly liberal terrain is nothing short of daunting.
Surely there must be someone along the shoreline between Alameda
and
Fremont who could represent the good citizens of the district with class
and
dignity. It's not the case now.

O/T, from end of May 2010: Hamas leader says American envoys making contact, but not openly
The United States is sending a succession of envoys to engage with Hamas but lacks the bravery to talk to the Islamist movement openly, its leader, Khaled Meshal, said in an interview with the Guardian.
Meshal praised President Dmitry Medvedev of Russia for meeting him in Damascus and the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, for hosting the discussion 10 days ago. He told Medvedev that the US was also talking to him. "I thanked him for that meeting and told him the Americans contact us, but are not brave enough to do so openly," said Meshal. "I am confident that in the very near future, everyone will realise that they will have to deal with Hamas."
The claim that the US is engaging with a group it lists as a terrorist organisation will upset the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, whose security forces have locked up and allegedly tortured leading Hamas members in the West Bank..

Every two years, we elect 535 people from around the country to send them to DC. 535 of the most ambitious political talent we can find. After we send them to DC, they all step inside the Capitol where they take their oath of office. After that, all the doors and windows are barred to prevent anyone from exiting and then the whole building is set on fire.
Let it serve as a lesson.

It is becoming the Wild West again, and this is why.
Illegals, by definition, are law breakers from the start. Breaking other laws once they are here is nothing to them.
The communities where the population tipping point has passed are hellholes. Think Tijuana. Any other border states morons will tell you the same stories and that what I say is true.
Our government will not protect or help us.
Arizona passed laws (confirming pre-existing law), and our government and the mexican government are doing their best to overturn them.
What should we do?

Not refreshing the Tree of Liberty seems to be working pretty well so far. We should stick with that. Becoming even more subservient might help.
Don't mean to be glib, but I don't really see things ever changing. Leviathan is too big, too well established, and too well supported. The rank and file just get to sit there and take it, like always. Eventually, this system too will fail, and it will get replaced by something that does pretty much the same thing. Government exists solely to coerce.

98%+ Hispanic with the 8th highest population density of any city on the U.S. outside of New York with an average of 7 people per household. That's an average, so half the households have more than 8 people per household.

Study Obama's stupidity, and Hillary's as well to note how much money was squandered attempting to educate them through the Ivy League.
Intellectually dishonest. AS IF Keynes is the only credible school of economics, though it lacks credibility. The more debt for nations, the wealthier; and interest rates don't matter, because nations exist in an alternative universe.
