— Dave in Texas Heat.
“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.
I don't think they should advertise their spending strategy either, and I ain't getting back into the "should they or shouldn't they fund her" fight, had enough of that. But last night's "unofficial" NRSC response, wherever it came from, struck me as just stupid on timing... that soon after the votes were counted made them look petulant.
dang, I forgot, saw this via Melissa Clothier on Twitter.

Good.
If they pull out a few weeks before the election if the margin is above 10, I will not blame them for being practical, however the announcement last night was stupid and embarrasing and further hurts her chances of winning

Dave -
$42,000 per candidate is the max allowable.
If the NRSC isn't spending the max allowable per Republican candidate - there are other, far bigger problems then a spending strategy at work.

Isn’t it rich to have Karl Rove attacking O’Donnell and calling her a deeply flawed candidate whose lack of “rectitude” makes her unelectable? IIRC, Rove’s most famous client was a candidate with a history of severe alcoholism, credible allegations of cocaine use, and several failed business ventures.
Maybe that lack of "rectitude" doesn't matter if you happen to be born into a wealthy political dynasty.

Fine, but the PAC's purpose includes supporting candidates. I assume that means with cash. Since Palin found this candidate so compelling and her candidate is facing a major differential in campaign funds relative to her Dem opponent, I expect that the money will flow to O'Donnell.

Rove actually helped win that campaign without too much emphasis on Bush's name. Since O'Donnell won this primary of her own accord, they should support her & send her money, which it appears they're doing. Now let's see what she does to win the general. If she plays her cards right, she can do it.
Seems those of us who aren't in Delware would also be better-served by using this time to support conservative candidates in our respective districts & concentrate on taking-back Congress, especially the House.

I'll give Rove the benefit of the doubt and let him make a bad call on occasion. He's got enough goodwill in the bank.
Stu Rothenberg was on the radio this am and was saying that the NRSC people think that O'Donnell is "a deeply flawed human being" and made a comparison to Alvin Greene in SC. He also said she has no chance to win.
I think there are people in the NRSC staff that dislike O'Donnell because they think there is something wrong with her - I mean, look at all the "crazy" talk here. (as if that's a bad thing, crazy in the head, crazy in the bed you know).
But I also think theat there are those who think she is uppity. How dare she take on Mike Castle. And she can't win, you know, Republicans are outnumbered by Democrats in Delaware by a zillion per cent, that's why only Mike Castle can win.
And she's extreme, not like that Marxist Coons. Cause that's not extreme at all.
Here is the deal - O'Donnell couldn't possibly beat Castle. Until she did. Everything is impossible until it gets done. I remember Rubio v Crist as a measure of this thnking, he can't beat Crist, and even if he does, its throwing away a shoe-in in Florida, because he can't beat the Democrat. Well, he's beating both of them, bitches, and making Ace all wet in the process.
Well, O'Donnell is no Rubio, they say. Okay, but Rubio is Rubio, and they were saying the same thing about him.
RSM and Ladd Ehlinger are right on this.
Don't go wobbly on me George.

And the circle is now complete. Isn't it awesome how O'Donnellites sound more and more like Kos Kidz every day?

Mitt Romney Endorses Christine OÂ’Donnell For U.S. Senate
Today, Mitt RomneyÂ’s Free and Strong America PAC endorsed Christine OÂ’Donnell, who is running to serve the people of Delaware in the U.S. Senate. It also is sending her campaign a maximum $5,000 contribution.
“Now is the time for Republicans to rally behind their nominee, Christine O'Donnell. She ran an impressive campaign. I believe it is important we support her so we can win back the U.S. Senate this fall,” said Romney.

Pity - they could have handled this the same way they and the RNC handled the Brown election in MA - provided all the back-office, the web ads, etc. But because their spokesman got off the reservation 5-fucking-minutes after O'Donnell was declared the winner last night they had to broadcast, in the clear, their support for the same person everyone in the establishment declared, also in the clear, to be unelectable for the last month.

Hate to be the historical record jerkwad, but Republican hyper-pragmaticism have already cost the country more than dearly, in fact it has been the tacit approval for the dismantling of the Constitution and the near collapse of this country. So after leading us to the brink of collapse with RINOfluenza, I think that lecturing the maximalists about risk is completely pretentious. We wouldn't need to take such extreme risks if the establishment had done its job over the past decade and actually continued the reversal that Reagan started. Instead the RINOfluenza erased all of what Reagan did to put this country on track, and we sit in worse position than we were when Carter was in office. After all that evil that pragmaticism hath wrought, you have the nerve to tell the maximalists that their tactics will cost the country dearly? Please.

She wasn't reliable about her school records, her past elections, her mortgage, her accusations that her opponent was stalking her or alleged homosexuality. So, truthfulness is a problem. On record.
Would Castle have been a reliable conservative vote?
“The only business that should be conducted during a lame-duck session of Congress is keeping the government running until the newly elected legislators are sworn in. I do not agree with those who say this period of time should be used for passing controversial legislation and would not play a role in helping to circumvent the will of American voters.” Mike Castle, former Governor and Congressman.
"Castle was first elected to the U.S. Representatives in 1992, defeating former Lieutenant Governor Shien Biau Woo. Since then, he has won election by wide margins eight times, defeating Democrats Carol Ann DeSantis in 1994, Dennis E. Williams in 1996 and 1998, Michael C. Miller in 2000 and 2002, Paul Donnelly in 2004, Dennis Spivack in 2006, and Karen Hartley-Nagle in 2008."
If Castle was so great, and this is a moderate Republican type state, why didn't he beat her?
Because of a last-minute out of state push from Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, Michelle Bachman, the Tea Party Express and several talk radio hosts and pundits including Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin amongst others. It's quite possible, in an alternate theory, that the Democrats had their own Operation Chaos.

I'm not going to speak for Rove but in general I think that theory is bullshit.
Most of the people around here (and in the 'elite' punditry) who, for pragmatic reasons, wanted Castle to win, also cheered the Miller victory in AK, the Rubio ascendancy in FL, the Lee win in UT, etc.
We aren't hostile to more conservative candidates in general. Actually we are very much in favor of that. We do have some very specific personal and tactical reason not to be happy with O'Donnell specifically.

As the former head of the clumsily named Savior's Alliance for Lifting the Truth (SALT), O’Donnell was the Tipper Gore of the 1990s, attending lewd and lascivious rock concerts just to tell stoned, Satanist teenagers that they were going to hell. “Walking through the crowd I also noticed more pentagrams than crosses around the teenage necks,” she gasped. At a 1997 music festival in Washington, D.C., the Catholic killjoy “distributed thousands of brochures with information on the failure rate of condoms, on AIDS, on sexually transmitted diseases, abortion, pornography and the movement of former homosexuals.”
She believes Jesus will cure your homosexuality. They'll love that in DE. She wrote all of this in WaPo, so I'm not spreading malicious rumors.

All true. It may already be too late, and all of this might be for naught. But, if it's not, how should we proceed? RINO "pragmaticism" was a big part of putting us in the position we are in now. I do fear if we go over* pragmatic because it picks up seats, that we will be in worse shape not better.
*but just how much is too much?
Let me put it another way. Concepts in advanced strategy. The fact that we don't have 16 years to wait for a Reagan doesn't change the fact that is what we need, and need now, right now; essentially being our only hope. And since it is our only real hope, our only logical choice of action is to assume we will get what we need, because, without that assumption all courses of action are futile.

Why does it matter? Supposedly, O'Donnell won because she is the strongest candidate the GOP can run against the Democrats. She and her supporters all but drove him from the party, distorting and outright lying about his record. Whether you like moderates or not, Castle devoted his life to the party. He has not done anything to deserve the contempt heaped on him.
Well part of the problem is that he's a lifelong politician. Nobody should be in office that long. I heaped no contempt on him until today. Since's he's devoted his life to the party then he should be gracious enough in defeat. That is if he really did care about the party. Instead he's acting like an entitled whiny little bitch. Eff him. And the other whiners like Murkowski and the establishment. When RINO's like McCain won I supported him and voted for him. Was I happy about it? No but I voted for him. Actually, he devoted his life to having that job FOR LIFE, but he only got it for a measly 40 years (6 years past retirement age). You can tell because he's QUITE PISSED OFF he won't get to bequeath it to his chosen successor in his will.

Yeah, my boyfriend was a chubby chaser, and I wasn't giving enough cusion for the pushing... not really any pushing. I was a prudy prude who liked white establishment candidates with real qualifications, lesbian rock and LSD.

The REAL reason Evita didn't want Argentina to cry for her?
Because she new Mike Castle was more deserving of their tears.

O'Donnell was a career politician, too, just really bad at it... up till about now.

Exactamundo.
Same goes for Gingrich.

Shakespear's original quote was actually "T'is better to have loved and lost, than to have lived through the betrayal and tragedy of Mike Castle's political career".
His editor told him he was too far ahead of his time so they changed it.

Lesbain rock and LSD is SOOO relevant to this election cycle.
You don't sound emotional at all.

Oh really comrade? It's OK for the government to crush your liberty as long as they have the right fiscal policy? I'm tired of you fucking beta RINO's being willing to place the boot of government on your neck in exchange for doing what they should have done already.
Christine O'Donnell is insane?!?!?
You're quaking in your boots, apparently, over the 'Anti-Onanism Act of 2011'.
Well guess what Mr. Gullible, Mike Castle voted for MANDATORY gay marriage. How's that do you?
Posted by: Entropy at September 15, 2010 09:29 AM (IsLT6)
*but just how much is too much?
Well, Mike, here's how we find out how much is too much: if we end up with 67 Senate seats and RINOs flip on us all the time, it was too much pragmatism. Since that ain't gonna happen, the real question - and thankfully, one that will be answered in only 48 days - is what is too little pragmatism? The answer to that is 50 Senate seats combined with an O'Donnell loss.
Again, I hope she wins, no matter how many seats we pick up.

Jealous. But don't forget masturbation! That was part of O'Donnell's platform on her website.

Obviously because he was anti-religion and didn't know that God cures gays. God would have stopped the Holocaust, too, if he'd felt it was the right thing to do. But apparently Anne Frank was stroking her beaver in that attic.

When you say 'Lesbian Rock"
are we talking to cute chearleeders kissing to 'She's My Cherry Pie"
or are we talking Janet Napolitano sing to a dictaphone ?

Yeah, and Amnesty was right up Castle's alley.
Shall I take your ridiculous "any irrelevant fact I don't like about her views at all" approach to Kirk's candidacy?
Please tell me.

Hey, I'm a fucking atheist.
But Kirk has plenty of flaws. He's a squish jackass.
I dunno, Gianoulias is looking better day by day.

Sure, go for it. Let's lose Obama's former seat, as well as Biden's. That should motivate the Democrats to crush Angle in NV, and the Democrats can crow they didn't take such a beating in the midterms. 50 or so House pick-ups, and the GOP pissed away the Senate.

Who gives a fuck? Angle opposes legalized pot. That doesn't sound like a 'party' to me.

Wait a minute, drop your cock for a minute and raise your hand if you seriously, I mean s e r i o u s l y think your ability to masturbate is going to be compromised by the election of Christine O'Donnell.
If you do raise your hand, don't ever, e v e r say a fucking thing about Christine being a kook. Seriously.

Oh, don't misinterpret me Tattoo.
I love sluts. They're easy.
I too, am anti-masturbation. Masturbation is for losers who don't know where the sluts hang out (Alexi Gianoulias HQ!)

The tea party is going to permanently debunk the myth that NV is libertarian at the rate they're going. Angle's a fine candidate, but she needs that red wave momentum, which is mostly a Democrat demotivated base. They're going to be so psyched when Coons destroys O'Donnell like Biden did and then the Tea Party snatches defeat from the jaws of victory once again IL. Angle will lose then, but Jim DeMint will have his 30 pure conservatives.
Posted by: Tattoo De Plane at September 15, 2010 09:47 AM (mHQ7T)
So is entropy. Nice to hear O'Donnell supporters turn off women voters with the rampant misogyny. They've already pissed off Castle supporters. LOSE,, BITCHES. LOSE!

Yeah that's it. Keep reacting to the Holly-Left's imaginary boogeymen while they nationalize us into communism.

Runaways were late 70's. "I question the timing."
And even then, Cherrie and Lita and Sandy didn't go for that, hence the end of the band.

Runaways fans would have been legal by the mid-80's. And I've seen Cherie Curry's interview on Sally Jesse Raphael. She probably would have agreed with Christine O'Donnell that coed dorms and rooms on college campuses are "orgy rooms" and "menage a trois rooms."
