— LauraW This young man's left testicle, named Ben-Gurion, weighs twelve pounds. His right testicle, named Yinon, weighs only eleven pounds two ounces, but that's only because he knocked one out to the thought of confronting a pack of tablecloth-adorned Muslim protestors all by himself.
This video was shamelessly yoinked from Rosetta over at H2.

One wonders if those demonstrators had a permit???

Technically, Allahu Akbar means "God is greater" Akbar is the comparative form of kabir which means big or great. But in fact Allahu Akbar means "God is Great" "God is Greatest" or "God is greater than great" It means all of those things.

If someone was "endangering" the cops, that would be the people who would act violently. When did we start placing blame not on who poses the violent threat but rather on those protesting those who pose the violent threat? I'm suspending your conservative card for one week on that comment.

We have that here in Fairfax County, Virginia, as well.
In the late 90s, I was mailing my tax return at the local 24-hour post office in Merrifield. There were a bunch of jackass college students holding an anti-Israel demonstration in front of the cars lined-up around the block. The gist of their protest was that our tax money funds Israel's "oppression" of "palestinians."
A police officer told me that if I did not roll-up my passenger-side window that he would cite me for disturbing the peace. One of the whiny little bitches had complained to the police about the things I claimed to have done to his mother earlier in the day. I rolled-up my window.
It did not take any stones for me to say what I said. I had an aluminum t-ball bat under the seat.

INS should have been at the rally checking ID's. No doubt a few are absconders and living illegally in America and should be deported to their country of origin, Palestine. Still looking for Palestine on the map?

Well, I'm sure the kid knew there'd be a chance that he'd get seriously fucked up. And it's always good to see the police at any demonstration not taking sides but doing their job to keep the peace, regardless of personal belief.
It's a good thing this kid didn't show up with an American flag to school on Drinko de Mayo...then there would have been trouble.

Is there a Christian or Jewish religious phrase that can be used like this to incite such a violent response to things? I mean yeah there's things like "Praise be to God in the highest" and "Hallelujah" and stuff but at worst those are going to cause a crowd to break out singing them, not as an tool of intimidation and getting your group charged up to start throwing rocks.

Hey gutless fuckhead. This kid's nation is an actual modern country that is under brutal attack. That is its flag. 2/3rds of Americans strongly support Israel.
If the Islamic psychos can openly demonstrate their stupid crazed shit under constitutional protections post 9/11, he certainly should have the right to counterdemonstrate. That he needed such police protection is a condemnation of what he was demonstrating against.
Posted by: TexasJew at June 03, 2010 08:12 AM (LQM3C)
I could be wrong, but I thought the constitution gave us free speech. I could also be wrong about cops knowingly putting their lives on the line, as a profession, to uphold the law.
But maybe citizens should make life easy for cops and just forget their rights. Especially if it's just one guy.

I call it a "reasoning trap," and it's damn near the cause of all mankind's problems. Once a person is willing to assign as much or more weight to intentions as he does to outcomes, the trap is sprung. Totalitarian collectivism, leftism, islam, regulationism, political correctness, radical environmentalism, et cetera all follow.
Another's intentions can never truly be known, so a claim of purity--no matter how false--can mask great evil.

You said the magic word. It's such malleability that some hide behind to skirt doctrine. Like a politician declaring himself honest, a simple assertion doesn't make it so.
I've observed that some, if dissatisfied with a chosen religion, will just recreate it in their own image. Worse, it's a voluntary association, yet they'll tear "their" religion apart from within rather than leave and create their own de novo.

Another devotee of the Age of the Drama Queen, I see. Pointing out that Vic is a dumbass and full of shit on this topic is not denying him his free speech, nor is it grounds for him or you to take up arms.
(And, strictly speaking, he doesn't have the right to free speech here. Nor do I. It's Ace's blog, and he can decide what is out of bounds.)

Oh, it'll be there forever. Thanks so much, though.
Besides, we live in a far more dangerous area, being less than a mile from the Anapra colonia in Juarez, where they killed 15 people the same day that the IDF only nailed 9.
Israel will seem like Minnesota after that!

131 It was more of a personal, emotional opinion -- I have never harbored great love or great hate for Israel. It is what it is, and I am not of it -- I'm not pro any other country but America, as that is what I am of.
However, I have increasingly found myself siding with the Israeli pov, rather than just being neutral on the issue. I think this has to do with any patience I might have felt for the situation there wearing thin.
Plus, as the kid mentions, information is an enlightening thing -- we have friends who are Israeli Jews; we have friends who are Syrian Christians; we also have friends who are Arab muslims from the Palestine, who worked for Jews. There is a reason why they are here and not there, and their takes on the situation, their opinions about who controls the Arab parts of the Palestine were indeed enlightening.

Face it, Vic is wrong here on most people's standards. The fact that he needed to equate a counter protest to walking through the inner-city with a confederate flag for no reason should be evidence of this. And there is no reason to not voice disagreement with him.

The majority in America is getting bullied. It's a tyranny of the minority that's growing as every special interest claims victimhood and as laws are set to punish the sensibilities of the masses. The PC pendulum has swung too far and it's high time the silent spoke, good idea or not.

It depends. On one hand there's the influence of the Nation of Islam and more orthodox Muslim blacks that creates some sympathy for Islam within the African American community. Black pastors have refrained from criticizing Farakhan out of solidarity with another black religious leader despite their sure knowledge that Farakhan and the NOI have designs on their flocks.
On the other hand, plenty of my younger black friends bristle at Arab and Muslim racism towards blacks. They aren't very happy knowing that behind the bulletproof barrier in the party store, the Arab storekeeper is calling them "ebed" [Arabic for slave, vernacular Arabic for blacks] as he sells them blunt wrappers.

My brother and my father-in-law--both strongly conservative--were befuddled by their experiences in Israel. My in-laws visited on a tour a couple of years ago. My brother visited during his peacekeeping deployment to the Sinai peninsula in the late 90s.
The disconnect came from direct observation that arabs they encountered were shirt-off-their-backs friendly while Israelis were reserved to the point of being cold and distant.
Never having been there myself, I made the comment that I'd rather have somebody scowl at me and go on his way than smile at me as he detonates his suicide bomb vest.

Not to pile on to anyone who thinks counter-protesting that bunch of fanatics may have been a tad dangerous, I agree. However, I am mindful of the phrase, "All that is required for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing". We can't afford to do nothing anymore. The Rutgers Hillell protested a collection of these hate mongers that were planning a convention at their university, got all the local temples involved, and managed to get the u to cancel the event. Good on them, looks like the Jewish community in LA needs to wake up. They need to emulate this young man, and tell these Islamofacists, "I will not submit!"

233 That family has been a good source of info -- not that they like to even talk about it much, but sometimes they will -- they had lived in the area for generations. I'm sure they are only seeing things from a very personal perspective which may or may not be wedded to the truth, but their take on things is interesting nonetheless.
They are not big fans of Hamas, Hez, or Fatah -- but they also seem to think that there will never be peace because of those groups and the power structure that has become entrenched there.
