— LauraW Dan Debicella is putting up a good fight to regain traditional NE Republican territory in the tony 'burbs of Fairfield County.
Cap'n Wunnerful and Billy Zipper will be campaigning here this weekend for first-term incumbent Jim Himes.
They will be working the nearby shithole of Bridgeport (euphemistically referred to as a 'faded industrial city'), which came out overwhelmingly for the Dems and Obama in 2008.
Himes is a reliable vote for Pelosi and the whole Elitist Bastard Agenda in general.
Recent Survey Shows Dan Debicella with a 46% to 42% Lead Over HimesDan now leads Himes in several important categories, including those who are most likely to vote (48% - 42%), and among voters who have an opinion of both candidates (60% - 34%).
Holy. Crap.
Guys: I had no idea this was possible.

Obviously, pollsters will stop being in business if they just say "we don't really have a clue what's going on..."

The word "Bridgeport" recalls all sorts of postive memories for me. I literally spent years seeing that word as I operated a milling machine with that name emblazoned on it. I only rarely had any problems with those machines, I rebuilt several of them and got to know their inner workings. They were made by true craftsmen.
Good times, and I really mean that.
Hopefully, sanity will return to that area. We need more Bridgeports...

5 years ago, I moved from NorCal to New England (My company transferred me to Boston.). Thank God I was lucky enough to choose a home north of Boston. On my many trips to NYC, I was struck with how it gets shittier and shittier as you get closer to Manhattan. By the time you get into western Conn on I95, it is god-awful. I have had the misfortune of exiting in Bridgeport a couple of times. Never again!
Western Conn is like Los Angeles with shittier weather. Why anyone would not get out of there ASAP, I have no idea. But good luck to Debicella! I'll send him $25.00 right now out of sympathy.

NM-3; it's got Tom Mullins (R) vs. incumbent Ben Ray Lujan; that's the northern district of NM.
Reason I'm looking at it is: It's the nearest "close" race I can go help in and a poll was released just Sunday that had Mulllins within 6.
(NM-2 being the other near one and it's #23 on the list of likely takeovers from Club for Growth--if Pearce needs help, there ain't gonna be any wave. This one ain't even on their top 99.)
The NM-3 poll story (that talks about how no R has ever threatened this seat):

RCP has it as likely Dem but they don't show any polling.

Posted by: LauraW. at 02:13 PMI did. I knew it from the day he announced. Debicella is my State Senator. He can sell himself even when you don't agree with him. The Guy has it all. He'll be a senator someday if he keeps his nose to the grindstone. He's running very hard left on social issues to look moderate. More than he needed to IMHO. But you can put this one in the bank. Turnout in Bridgeport is going to be WAY down, especially from 2008. It will not only put Debiciella over the line easily it just may take Blumenthal down too. Himes has had troubles from day one. Contentious town halls where he said one thing then voted Dem straight down the line. He flat out said he wanted a public option on Obamacare. He's toast.

I met him at a gun show. The guy is a real conservative. I wished him luck and told him I would be voting for him but beating Delauro is a hard thing. She's has the most gerrymandered district in the state. I would not be surprised if he cracked 40% against her though which would be a victory in this district.

Has anyone discussed the dynamics of people being more juiced to vote for their House Representative than Senator or Governor? Sort of like an inversion of what usually happens (when people turn out to vote for President or the highest position on the ballot, and vote for the lower ones secondarily?

Unfortunately, CT-02 in eastern CT, which has recently fallen in line with the other two CT districts, doesn't look like a Republican takeover at this time. There was a poll that showed the CT-01 race close, but that's an unlikely takeover - the district includes Hartford and the immediate area.

In his mind, it is not your money. It belongs in the government's coffers. He wonÂ’t stop unless we stop him in November.

Any word on what kind of "establishment" help he received? I'm in TX, so it's not like I'm paying that much attention to House races in CT...
Also, I'm going on the record now: If (and its a big if) the Republicans actually learn their lesson this year and the new true-blue conservative candidates move the NRC, NRCC, and NRSC all to the right, we not only maintain control in 2012, but we take back the White House and get a Filibuster proof majority in the Senate.
