— Gabriel Malor Another ethics problem for the Congressional Black Caucus to cry racism over:
Longtime Dallas congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson has awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide's two children since 2005, using foundation funds set aside for black lawmakers' causes. The recipients were ineligible under anti-nepotism rules of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which provided the money. And all of the awards violated a foundation requirement that scholarship winners live or study in a caucus member's district.
In a statement, Johnson says she knew the scholarships were going to family [strike one], but "unknowingly" violated the ethics rules of the foundation for which she used to sit on the oversight board [strike two!]. She also defended herself by explaining that she did not "personally benefit" from the scholarships [STRIKE THREE!]
Talk about the lamest excuses ever. In total, she awarded 15 scholarships since 2005 to her grandsons and great-nephews and to children of an aide.

"...inegible under anti-nepotism rules....". But what
if we consult Sharia law?.....or Sen. Specter's "Scottish"
law? We really have to open our eyes to the customs
of others if we are to evolve into an enlightened
society......according to the ruling class.

--As much as I love and idealize America, certain cultural/genetic traits are hard to erase, even after hundreds of years on this side of the Atlantic. It's similar to the ethic of almost all pastors of black churches: encourage people to participate in this version of the Prosperity Gospel by showing how well the preachers of it are living. I don;t think it's a product solely of African influences by a long shot, but the unique combination of genes and historical circumstances has produced a noxious mixture.

God Bless my dad, he'd say "you'll pay me back when you make your first million with just a smile that we both knew you could do it" my parents threw everyone in my dorm in the car and often paid for it all and never said a word. I lived with muslim kids, jewish kids, hispanic kids, black kids and yeah other white kids...but my parents remembered how tough getting themselves through college was so they never let anyone pay for anything....it all went to dad. About the storm-fronty observation...
This is a blog that has a lot of philo-semitism and I think I do too. Just look at all the contributions Jewish culture has made. Just the nobel prizes alone...
Well, culture plays a part, but I'm willing to entertain the possibility that genetics have something to do with it. Bluntly put, Jews may be genetically smarter than the world population as a whole.
OK, I can deal with that. Seeing as how I'm now Jewish, I may be slightly disgruntled about all this, but hey, that's life. And really, rich smart Jews make my life better too, via inovations and jobs.
Now in the eyes of G*d and the law, we are all equal as individuals. But in the eyes of a capitalistic marketplace, not so much.
BUT...
The uncomfortable part of the above is that if there are races/groups/etc that are smarter than average, then by the law of averages, there must be races/groups/ect that are less smart than average.
So, the question is this: Is it racist to believe this?

Democrats have no moral problems with sticking a pair of tweezers into a woman's crotch and ripping her baby's head off, so she can keep partying it up. They have no problems with incinerating 80 men, women, and children for the crime of failure to pay a tax on one gun on time. They have no problems with dropping loaded bags of cement on a bus full of Republicans heading to the national convention. They have no problem with paying a creep who impregnates the daughter of a leading GOP politician to refuse to pay child support.
Why the fuck would these demented, evil perverts have a problem with simple nepotism?

The entire CBC is a cesspool of corruption. Then there is the rest of the Democrap Party who is little better. They just do a better job of hiding it.

I favour just taking every man case by case like MLK (both morally and in terms of acumen), and --since it is of course a topic hijacked by the racial left-- immigration policy should be set the same way. That is to say: coldly give priority (heck, not just priority, but sole placement) to the smartest and most accomplished --wherever they are from-- and if the racial composition skews one way or another, so be it. It may be that such a policy would even favor Blacks from Africa, since perhaps the accomplished people of pallor may be happier if they're living in, say, New Zealand and not want to immigrate.

Cause and effect may be getting swapped here. If you have an organization like the CBC whose membership qualifications are based on skin color rather than ability or achievement, it will naturally attract those who have the correct skin color and are also looking for a way to make up for their lack of ability and achievement through the easiest shortcut available -corruption.

Now, if you want crabgrass removed from your yard, I'm probably your man. But that doesn't mean that in that respect, I'm just as intelligent as him. I'd say that the market is saying this: "Smart people, go do physics and math. Dumb people (and I'm lookin' at you, ed. Which makes sense. Why would you want me trying to do math research with Amishdude? I can't do that. Why would you want Albert Einstein on his hands and knees next to me pulling up crab-grass?

1. The scale of corruption even within congress is far from 100%, but the corruption of the CBC is approaching that number. To pretend that "they are all corrupt" is a typical PC dodge in claiming that "everybody is doing it" and we mean people are singling out just the minorities.

I suppose that's only uncomfortable if you see people as their group and not as individuals--there's also variation in ability amongst each group. A specific black woman may be better at math than a specific white woman, a specific white WR may be better than a specific black one. OK, there may be 10 great black WRs for every great white one, but so what? Why does that keep people from giving the great white one a chance?
All this "ranking of groups" shit just plays along with leftists' attempts at division.

So, you see, it just turned out that these family members of hers were the most deserving recipients. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

17 How come all these CBC people are getting exposed right now? They've been robbing us blind for years and now they're dropping like flies. Why now?
I've said it before: Barack Obama hates independent black politicians. He's been the token all of his life and it's a good gig. He doesn't really go out of his way to protect them. For that matter, I think Kendrick Meek should watch his back. I atntcipate a scandal about him being leaked to the press any time now.
I think the Rangel investigations (Rangel was being punished for endorsing Hillary) also gave some permission to the MSM to uncover these kinds of things. Interestingly Johnson endorsed Obama even though her district went about 65% for Hillary in the primary.
As to why this seems to happen to black politicians, I've tought a bit about this and, first, they are in racially gerrymandered districts. This, combined with the machine features of the Democrat Party ensures that they are made to feel very secure and insulated from any of the usual pressures that even an incumbent feels.
There's a large part of the constituency that doesn't get upset at corruption because they feel like their money isn't the money being wasted. It's somebody else's and Eddie is just getting it over on "the man". The rest of the constituency doesn't think that way, but it's not PC to think otherwise, so they just keep their mouths shut. It's really not much different from Tamany Hall.
40 I've known Doctors kids that got grant and scholarship money only because of the color of their skin.
I never forget that Barack Obama was raised by a bank vice president and was sent to elite private schools all of his life.

I'll ask a simple and direct question. Do you think corruption within the CBC is off the scale rampant and well above the levels of the rest of the Dem congresss?
Sorry, Jim in San Diego, probably showing up two days late and a DOLLAR SHORT again but I've been having issues with my PC as of late...so here are my two cents. The CBC not only has a coffer that dwarfs pretty much every other PAC in D.C. combined, because they can always get as much as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton type shakedown money, anytime they need, from gigantor corporations, no questions asked.
Combine that with racially gerrymandered districts where there is no hope of getting these spiders out, but on a slab but then you get to witness their "heir apparent" get voted in by the same goddamn drones that they continue to misuse.
Sorry.
After Murtha, I'm kinda going on the NUKE entire congressional districts from orbit, just to be sure.

Now it's mine turn to apologize, I'm no longer mad and I was trying to be funny about how I'd rather be thought a bitch than PC. Obviously I didn't communicate that well.
2. Libertarianism is not social-con. That doesn't mean that I think you are a bad person, but wanting the state out of the marriage business simply to maintain consistency with the gay marriage crowd (nobody is married/everyone can be married) is as far from social-con as you get.
You're misunderstanding my position, I'm explaining it poorly or some combination of those. Let me clarify - I believe that marriage is a religious matter and that it is up to the religion to decide. If the state is going to recognize marriages, then it should do so on a contract basis only. I do *not* believe this in order to maintain consistency with the gay marriage crowd. I believe this because, seriously, I don't think that personal relationships are any of the State's business. Of course that's not a social-con position, I agree. However, it seems that you are making a presumption of the basis for my position which is inaccurate. I do not take this position to have consistency with the gay marriage crowd. I take this position to have consistency with my position that civil marriage should be a matter of contract rights only. Until such time as that happens, I am perfectly fine with marriage being between men and women only. Hell, I support DOMA since it's clear that the courts are going to stick their noses into this and attempt to impose gay marriage by fiat. That's not on.
I didn't take it that you thought I was a bad person, I was confused as to why you leapt to some conclusions which I thought were contrary to other evidence. Now I know why.

Every single congresscritter is presumptively criminal. Virtually ALL get rich while in office.
The estimable Ed Markey is my congressman. It was recently learned that he earmarked $160,000 to a firm to "study" consolidating two small commuter rail stations in our town located about a mile apart.
There is no fracking reason for the town to spend big money to"study" this, as the station land is owned by the railroad, not the town. The consequences of shutting one station down are OBVIOUS, since both are "stops" and have no buildings for people to congregate in, no tickeing, no personnel. Extra traffic and parking spaces would be an issue, but it would take about an hour to figure that out, using existing stations as a guide.
But guess who gave Ed Markey a fat campaign contribution?
That's right: the firm that got the "study" earmark.
Legal, but outrageous. Just like the Ground Zero Mosque.
Fuck'em all, I say.
Oh and did I mention that Ed Markey has never held a real job?
