— Ace By which I mean our Spock-like First Diplomat already insulted him on-the-record earlier this year, when it was looking very likely he'd be the next PM. (In fact, it looked almost guaranteed he'd be the PM earlier in the year; Cameron didn't gain as many MPs as it was once thought he would.)
So, here's Captain Love on England's next likely leader:
ccording to tomorrow’s New Statesman, Barack Obama was unimpressed by his encounter with David Cameron earlier this year and commented: “What a lightweight!”According to James Macintyre’s report, Cameron’s attempt to stress his pro-American and Eurosceptic credentials did not meet with Obama’s approval. According to Macintyre’s diplomatic sources, the Democratic candidate was “distinctly unimpressed” and labelled Cameron a lightweight.
Macintyre notes that 48 hours earlier Obama had delivered a speech in Berlin stressing “the importance of Europe’s role in our security and our future”.
Following the meeting with Cameron, Obama apparently asked officials for more information on Tory Euroscepticism. Macintyre also speculates that Cameron’s support for the Iraq war – which Obama opposed – did not help the relationship either.
Yes, Mr. President, but does he also tea-bag?
Thanks to EdwardR.

“What a lightweight!” == "I'm Obama and I hate anything and anyone "conservative"... oooo icky."
FACT:
Well, Obama was far left on the Iraq war, but due to political reality, has in fact shifted to the middle on this issue.
Because...... We are still in Iraq! Where did Obama's promise to be out of Iraq go?
Memory hole!
Obama was a moderate on the campaign trail, BUT IS IN FACT a hard-leftist with our domestic policies.
FACT.

Cameron mistook Obama for an American. He doesn't know that our politicians aren't. He's a chump.

48 OT/ but I have been thinking about the claim that 800K re-entered the job hunt, thats why unemployment went up to 9.9%.Don't the stats for unemployment come from people collecting a check and don't they stop being counted when their benefits run out? Why are they being counted AGAIN?
Posted by: TC at May 07, 2010 03:50 PM (4XzsU)
Here's the way I read it:A lot of people had their continuing unemployment claims terminated. They were, therefore, dropped from both the unemployed and job seeking rolls. (This happened because the evil Republicans wanted to make Democrats keep their "pay-go" promise to fund the unemployment extension)
After a couple of weeks the unemployment extension was passed -- resulting in the return of these long-term unemployed to both the unemployed and job seeking rolls.
Viola! -- we get a bump in both the number unemployed and those seeking jobs. And we can then blame the higher unemployment number on more job seekers.
It's just another Obamascam.

He had others thrown of the ticket opposing him repeatedly, and then claims his main success is his amazing prowess at campaigning. He didn't even really beat Hillary... that was a total steal.
He goes on and on about religion, both condemning bitter clingers and justifying his views on religion. He went to a nutjob church ... a real psycho hut, and was friends with an unrepentant terrorist, but he's always telling people to stop associating with the wackiest fictive conservatives. he tells his people to 'punch back twice as hard' the day his people beat the shit out of protesters. He tells, and I quote, "teabaggers" to speak with more civility.
He projects. He called the next PM a lightweight because that's what he is insecure about.

"Tory Euroscepticism"
Too bad you guys took this thread over with some brilliant sarcasm. Being about 76-and-a-half hours late to this discussion, I propose that we start coming up with educated-sounding, slightly menacing things to call liberals and their viewpoints. Let's start with "rationalphobic encopretic synthesists" (people who cannot help but sh&t their pants when confronted with reality). Maybe on a slower thread someday.
Let me end by saying: Tory Eurosceptics? Lightweight.

He spent most of this campaign carefully disclaiming any intent to make any serious cuts in Britain's bloated state or to roll back any of Labour's massive intrusions on the people. Or to challenge the EU's overlordship over Britain.
The Tories faced a Labour Party led by one of the most loathed PMs ever, at a time of deep economic trouble, with numerous MPs disgraced by the expenses scandal - and they got all of 36%.
The reason (most serious British conservatives think) was that Cameron and his team deliberately watered down the Tory message until it was barely distinguishable from Labour. They had no real goals except to be in power in place of Labour.
Lightweights.

The idea of Wee Wee referring to anyone else as a "lightweight" proves that irony is truly dead.
