— Ace You have to use your secret spin decoder ring to get that interpretation from his words. But make no mistake, he just predicted a 65+ seat loss.
In an article mostly about Obama conceding that maybe he didn't sell his policies well enough (but only because he was too focused on saving the American economy from Bush's disaster), Piffle weighs in.
And confesses: The Democrats are going to lose both houses of Congress.
Because he seizes on the last refuge of a loser.
Blaming other people.
"The central actors in the election are the candidates themselves," Plouffe said. "It's how they handle the last two weeks that's most important."
Show of hands -- if the Democrats were so high on ObamaSuccess that they were poised to gain 15 or 20 seats, who do you think would be credited for that?
Would the "central actors in the election" still be the "candidates themselves"?
Or would it be Hypothetically Awesome Obama?
You guys have been talking up how Obama is going to spin this; well, there's one way. Same way they did it with Martha Coakley. Our candidates just suck, is all.
BTW, this tiny poll linked at Hot Air? It's way wrong. Bet on it.

The democrats blame how they sold themselves and their policies (the optics.) It has nothing to do with the content of either their programs or themselves (socialism de facto.)

True that. Everyone in the country had a raging hard-on for Bush after the '06 midterms, right?
Funny you say that. You probably remember both the media and the Democrats the day after the elections in 2006 saying President is going to have to work with share power with the Democrats.
They actually said 'share power' and spoke about Pelosi as if she was the co-president.

Some far left hispanic group registered & turned in 3000 for permanent early vote ballots on the last day of registration in Ruth McClung's district.
“We just tell them to fill it out, sign the envelope and send it back so their vote counts.”
Statewide, Mi Familia Vota and One Vote Arizona have registered 20,000 new voters in four months.
“What is more impressive is we have registered over 43,000 on the permanent early voting list,” Heredia said, adding that many Hispanics don’t vote regularly…
3000 Hispanic voters, of course.

So did the tabs you saw this on give a reason for their breakdowns? In this district I suspect that Dems to outnumber Rs by a heavy margin, though I would find it hard to believe by 262%.

Agreed. While I disagree with Juan on most issues, he's always come across as a decent, honest, dignified man. Yes, he was about to cry. He's also a proud man, and the assholes at NPR treated him like a dog.
BTW, I can't recall seeing Rove so worked up

I think the last time was when O'Donnell won the primary.
I generally like Juan too, although, he flipped hard from a Hillary guy to an Obama guy. It's ironic that the liberal progressive philosophy that Juan adheres to bit him in the ass.
I seem to remember from Clarence Thomas' book that Juan was one of the few reporters that was upset with what happened to Thomas...and he said so publicly. I'm pretty sure it was Juan that Thomas wrote about.

The Beach Boys - Catch a Wave
Posted by: kbdabear at October 21, 2010 07:51 PM (vdfwz)
BE THE WAVE
Be the wave and you're sitting on top of the world
Dems are afraid because the Morons are in town (be the wave, be the wave)
They know we've got some friends here
And they know they're doomed and going down
You man the phones, do a precinct tour
And baby the Conservative's will win for sure
You gotta BE THE WAVE and you're sittin' on top of the world
Not just a fad cause it's been going since '09 (be the wave, be the wave)
The TEA Parties going strong
They said it wouldn't last too long
They'll eat their words with some Change and Hope
And watch 'em they'll flip their lids like that Obama dope
And when we BE THE WAVE we'll be sittin' on top of the world
Be the wave and your sittin' on top of the world
So take a lesson from a top-notch Ewok guy (be the wave, be the wave)
Get out the vote today
Let's drive those winning margins high
Just get away from the Internet
And baby go make some calls with the campaign set
And when you BE THE WAVE you'll be sittin on top of the world
Be the wave and you'll be sittin' on top of the world
(Way up high, up on top of the world)
Be the wave and you'll be sittin' on top of the world
(Way up high, up on top of the world)
Be the wave and you'll be sittin' on top of the world

Vic, go to the link @ HA that Ace posted & then the link in Allah's post. You can find the poll there.

OK, that data makes me wonder what they did with the answers to "normalize" the totals if anything.
If their poll truly only found 17% of the people as Republicans in a random sample, did they normalize the answers to reflect the actual voting patterns from the previous elections like most polling outfits do?
They don't say what they did with the data. In any case, newspapers and their cousins in the visual media do the absolute worst polling there is. They are also the most biased.
So in the end, I'd still say they are most likely off by at least 10% in Bwarney's favor. We'll find out on Nov 2.

I have to ask Mr. Plouffe, if a coin lands heads 65 times out of 68, do you start to suspect that there is something wrong with the coin?
Heads.

Is the same twit who thought that the GOP had to take back both chambers and govenerships to have the moral victory? Also didn't he say if they didn't do all of those they lost the election?

Pro-choice women. Never mind, for now, the question of whether abortion should be legal or not -- they need to quit making it their litmus test.
