Debra Medina, Still "Just Asking Questions"
— Ace

A Texas state senator, Dan Patrick, tweets:

Medina digs hole deeper-says today she has questions how policemen got out and not the fireman on 9/11 She just can't let this go

Someone connected in politics down there tells me she's a Paulbot, as most of you heard, but that she didn't run expecting to get much traction -- her plan, he guesses, is to get enough name ID that she can take over the state party in the summer, all for the glory of (Doctor) Ron Paul.

Could the reason be that the firemen had air tanks, fire/heat-resistant clothing and a mission (and training) to explicitly go into burning buildings to rescue people?

I'm a bad, bad voter. I didn't see the debate, but the coverage of the debate was no match for all the Medina-enthusiasm on the local talk radio show the next morning, or the Ron-Pauled online polls.

IMHO, that was a baaaad sign. I'd say I'm shocked, but I'd be lying.

39 Nearly all the letters to the editor in my local newspaper (in Ron Paul's district) have been gushing about how wonderful she would be. Many openly connect her with Ron Paul. People around here are pretty ticked at Perry because they still think he is in favor of toll roads. She's a lightweight, but she has the Hispanic vote and the support of all the Paulians which are numerous. She's running as an outsider, a small town lady.

42 Funny, in my whole career I knew what to do if I came upon a fire where there were people inside the structure and I was there before the fire dept. Radio it in, light my emergency lights, sound the siren and then try to look for people inside. The minute the first fire truck or fire engine (they're different, y'know) my job changed to let the red suspenders boys know what was going on and then go outside and do crowd control and traffic. From the first day in training I was told the difference between us and firefighters. And where I worked the fire depts. were mostly volunteer. Furthermore, Ms. Medina forgets, there were a helluva lot of bluesuits killed that awful day. Apropos of nothing in particular, I am still in awe of the balls on those firefighters, even more, the volunteers of the VFDs. It's one thing to take a risk because that's the job. Take the check, take the chance. The volunteers, though, do it for free.

Also, in spite of their incompetence at everything else, these geniuses have managed to cover it up for almost a decade. Like Beck said, if Medina believes this is even slightly plausible then why is she focusing on anything else? She acts as though her own government could conceivably have murdered 3000 of its own people, but she doesn't know for sure because she's more interested in promoting fiscal conservatism. Fiscal conservatism won't really help me if the black helicopters kill me as part of a false flag operation to trick the mindless sheeple into backing a war of aggression to steal oil from the Arabs to enrich the Bilderbergers and their Jewish Reptilian masters, now, will it?

Evolution is a scientific theory about events that happened a long time ago that we didn't directly witness, AND that are intimately tied up in peoples' religious views. Even though the theory of evolution is highly plausible, and I believe it, distrust of the theory is not bat-shit crazy. The idea of a 9/11 conspiracy is so implausible and kooky that only a nut or a cynic would support it.

I can see why some people get confused over 9/11. There is so much conflicting info put out by people who really believe it, right or wrong. Some people genuinely don't know what to think the same way they don't know what to think about who started the stock market collapse. That uncertainty over what to believe makes the sheep and other sorts of idiots nervous.

People who can't make decisions like that don't need to be governor of Texas. I want a governor of Texas with the guts to tell Washington to fuck off if needed and the brains to make it work. A borderline secessionist would be nice.

The same is true of Intelligent Design to the extent Perry takes it. In his case I vote "cynic".

Just like you'd treat me if I started with the 9/11 bullshit.

83 Posted by: Zimriel at February 13, 2010 01:32 AM (sVzRC) Estimate people however you like, its still absurd to compare the two. There is nothing sinister about evolution, for or against. It's essentially a parlor game, and irrelevant to public policy, except at the very local level. Even there it's a pretty minor issue. A 9/11 conspiracy, if it existed, would constitute a lethal threat at the heart of our government. It's something that no serious person could contemplate without taking a stand on it. Who gives a crap if someone believes in intelligent design? It's actually a kind of intriguing idea, the idea of trying to use some kind of information theory to detect the presence of an external intelligence. Don't get me wrong, I think it's almost certainly completely unworkable, but this gets back to my point that the evolution debate is a game, not a serious subject.

If nothing else, this whole Medina implosion has thrown a great deal of light on her supporters.  It's amazing to see the twisting and shaping going on by local radio folks: The question's unfair, unclear, sexist, racist, ist-ist; Glenn's a jerk so Medina's answer doesn't count, she revised and extended her remarks eventually, fire doesn't melt steel, and thermite was detected at the scene but was hushed up by the Grays, etc.

Frankly, I'm still weighing Medina against Perry/Hutchison.  Not because I don't think her stated position is batshit crazy and borderline psychotic, but because I loathe Perry/Hutchison that much.  If Puppy Stranglers, Inc. is solid on taxes, immigration, and states' rights, well... just how many puppies are we talking about?  Are they strangled to death, or just until they pass out?  Are kittens involved?

Ultimately, my emotions will catch up with my thoughts, and I'll likely either abstain or find some other 3rd party to vote for.  You can't plan around crazy.  But man, is this disappointing.

87 mesa told me she was a paulbot weeks ago (he lives in Paul's district now, he's another Yankee refugee we welcomed).  I wasn't paying any attention to her because I doubted she'd get any steam. I'd say her brief rise was more a testament to Kay's weakness than Medina's strength.

90 Doctor Paul is not an anti-Semite; like myself he's an anti-Zionist.  Get it straight, neocons!

Yeah, but given the vitriol of the campaign, and the way baseless (as well as based) accusations are thrown around so lightly, I doubt I would have put any stock in the info unless she actually commented on the issue herself.

92 I heard the entire Glenn Beck interview with Medina.  I was paying attention to her before that.  Now..;not so much.  It was painful to hear her twisting and turning to answer (but not answer) those direct questions.  Painful, I tell you!  Her not answering was answer enough for me.  She believes the government was part of 9/11.  Sorry, that was a deal breaker for me.  I'm voting for Perry.

96 How in the heck does that guy keep getting re-elected?  I am a Texan, and I admire an independent spirit, but being batshit crazy doesn't make you independent, just lonely!

If I remember correctly, when I voted in '08, Paul was the only option.  Not even a Dem challenger.

100 As a long time conservative I see no point in having a "litmus test" for the party, if you say you're conservative that is good enough for me!

Bullcrap.

That kind of naivete is why the Libertarian Party is infested with 9-11 truthers, common law nuts, conspiracy freaks, and other lunatics. Loons will lie through their teeth as required in order to get a bully pulpit to expound on their bee-bonnet.

They are like Internet mission posters ... their conspiracy message is far more important to them than stuff like being truthful or helping the political party or group they are parasitizing.

They should be identified as loons and drummed out by any political movement that wants to be perceived as serious. You absolutely HAVE to purge the nutcases.

103 "Someone connected in politics down there" in Texas "tells me" diddly squat. Are you referencing DAVE IN TEXAS? If so, why is he too cowardly to write his own take on how Texans feel about what happened on 9/11/01? And if not Dave in Tx, then WHO are you supposedly quoting?

Most Americans think that our federal government has not been completely honest in providing all information regarding how the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks WERE ALLOWED to take place--even if simply by negligence of duty that the Intelligence Community failed to communicate properly with each other and with the Chief Executive, Pres.Bush. I doubt they knew how successfully destructive the Islamofascist Jihad attack would be, but the possiblity obviously was real. Clinton's left-over administrators in Bush's new administration allowed this to happen, already knowing it would, and not making that case to George W. Bush in the Oval Office. We have the damned DHS as a result, not of  9/11, but of the FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE that enabled the 9/11 terrorism. And if it wasn't obviously unconstitutional then, the DHS is now mutated into the fascist bureaucracy that American citizens should not tolerate.

ACE, you are full of shit. Are you saying that every significant player in our federal government did everything in their power to prevent 9/11 from happening?!  You Lie.

Moments after Beck interviewed Medina, the next radio host on KLIF Texas talk radio that runs both Beck and Fred Thompson's shows, took calls from Texans. The host posed the same statement that you all have, that this questioning of our government is only done by kooks and loons, certainly not by respectably "sophisticated" neoconservative American citizen insiders pulling the career politician Republican strings. Callers unanimously agreed with Debra Medina rather than Glenn Beck's diatribe, and disagree with you, saying that they will still vote for Medina.

Reality bites when you actually STUDY TEXAS POLITICAL ISSUES and take note of the Rick Perry PAC government corruption in the Republican Party. Intelligent and independent conservatives along with thoughtful Republicans do NOT want to continue to pay rising property taxes and exorbitant fees on toll roads to foreign-owned companies, and want the border secured, and want Texas Drivers licenses to include citizenship and be used for voter identification. Those issues are what differentiate Medina from the career kickback politicians Perry and Hutchison. The Bilderberger Rick Perry has had 10 years already to provide transparency in the TxDOT but refuses because that would expose his corruption. Rick Perry has had 10 years to utilize the Constitution to retain Texan taxes rather than submitting all to the Federals to return much less in turn. He's supposed to be the experienced governor, having 10 years on the job; unfortunately his experience is in corruption for his own personal benefit at the expense of tax payers and AT THE EXPENSE OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

Ace of Spades is sabotaging a responsible, independent Texas conservative who brings to the table the opportunity to rescind corruption from the Governor for Texans.

Aside from his kickback arrangement with Merck to force vaccination of all girls though long term effects are completely not yet known and short term death/stroke/paralysis is already known a side effect of Gardasil, Rick Perry already accomplished with the Fundamentalist Mormons in Eldorado what Ann Richards allowed Clinton's federal forces to try to accomplish outside of Waco to the Branch Davidians on Mt. Carmel. Given the Branch Davidian experience as precedence, Perry is fortunate that the fundamentalist "Saints" did not refuse to cooperate with his excessive and ill founded law enforcement arrangements. Perry would direct law enforcement without legitimate complaint against American citizens. Yet our southern border is not secured, and horrible massacres and kidnappings occur with high crime from illegal aliens in state. And so far as providing leadership in our state legislature, it was during Perry's terms that the Democrats (minority party) bolted while in session, leaving no quorum to vote during our biennial legislative sessions. And Perry has failed to negotiate the passing of legislation requiring state photo voter identification, allowing the bill each session to never be brought up for vote though it had all the votes to pass it.

You want to intelligently address Texas politics? Do your damned homework because this effort is fabricated. As it is here, you're just another paid marionette.

104 I take it a matter of honor that Dave in Texas chose to not lay this attack against Medina that people OUTSIDE of Texas have launched on Perry's behalf.
