— LauraW I'm putting this short clip here because it should be used by the campaign of every border state Republican running this year.
The AZ law came about because of mounting public outrage over criminal activity committed by Mexican gangs. Crimes such as kidnapping, home invasion, and murder. The senseless murder of one rancher and his dog was the final straw.
Now Calderon has the cheek to come here and criticize how Americans should react to the criminal invasion that is originating in his own country. You gotta be kidding me.
Put yourself in the shoes of anyone who lives in an area that is unsafe because of criminal activity committed by illegals' gang organizations, and imagine what they must feel when they see all the Democrats rise to honor Calderon.
Thanks, Democrats. You could have sat there in polite silence and deprived us of a club to use against you. Glad you just couldn't contain yourselves.

Especially when Mexico has much more stringent immigration laws. Fuck-tard. He should be more worried about the drug-cartel violence in his own country. IIRC, his one friend (or advisor) was kidnapped by the cartels not too long ago.

This shit gets me steamed.
But it raises an important question: Is this the behavior of a party running scared?
Are the Democrats scared of this November? I don't think so. That begs the following question: Why aren't the Democrats worried about this November?
Well, here's what I come up with.
a) They're seeing polls in all their elections that keep them in power.
b) They're looking at the opposition (in general) and they see a party that's not even putting up a fight.
Read Ann Coluter's latest column. She outlines all the reasons the Republicans are headed for major disappointment this November.

Sadly, the usual suspects, and that includes the US Conference of Bishops, can be counted upon to play the race card early and often.
Slightly off-topic: A friend from the government paid a call at the house yesterday, wanting to go over the census. He got my name (which they obviously already have) and the address (ditto). I supplied the number of residents, and he started in on the particulars, along with some handout with a full page of various flavors of hispanics (Basken & Robbins don't have that many). I repeated the number of residents and race (American) and bid him good day. The wife was none too pleased. my take; if she wants to start doing the tax returns for the next ten years, then she can answer the jerk however she likes. Until then, that's mt call.

The Marxists invaded our education system from the top down. They have dumbed down and race baited a lot of students who can no longer think critically. They need to be told how to think and this is the Marxist dream.
Fortunally there is still a larger part of the population who can think on their own and will continue to fight this hoarde. It's our only chance.

100 According to the BJS, the violent crime rate in Arizona was lower in 2006, 2007, and 2008 -- the most recent year from which data are available -- than any year since 1983. The property crime rate in Arizona was lower in 2006, 2007, and 2008 than any year since 1968. In addition, in Arizona, the violent crime rate dropped from 577.9 per 100,000 population in 1998 to 447 per 100,000 population in 2008; the property crime rate dropped from 5,997 to 4,291 during the same period.
Hmmmm...are all of those crimes committed by illegals, or is that the total, with no data about whether a larger proportion of the total were committed by illegals each year?

In December 2006 the FBI published their estimated crime statistics for the largest cities in the country. The news was not good. The reported number of violent crimes increased nationally by 3.7 percent in the first half of 2006 when compared to figures reported for the first six months of 2005. Interesting link, from which we learn that the 370 kidnappings a year in Phoenix are no big deal because it's just coyotes holding illegal immigrants for ransom. Therefore, according to the leading lights of the Left, it shouldn't concern folks on the Right. Which makes sense: the Left is so mind-bogglingly racist that they really don't care if Mexicans who cross illegally are then exploited further by kidnappers.

The Democrat leadership has reached a threshold of control and, based on public polling trends, a limited time-frame to exercise it. With the levers of control here but dwindling, it's a race to transform before getting booted out. I'm thinking that the activist bloc has decided that they've attained the magical number of people -- let's call it the revolutionary quotient -- required to mold and control a population. Whether that bloc really has or not reached the RQ is debatable, but internally, they seem to be following a pattern whereby a much smaller population can control a larger one by acting boldly and distributing their personnel into key spots for action. They are creating a momentum, or an illusion of one, in hopes of turning the entire population.
Right now the Progressives have the proper people in the proper positions and are controlling both policy and debate by virtue of controlling the floors of Congress and the pulpit of the Executive. They still have the legacy media in their hip pocket. What they don't have anymore is the confidence of the majority of Americans, particularly WRT immigration policy. However, even if you don't have all control, you still act like you do through activism. Remember, our Government is loaded with activists and academics (BIRM) right now. Behavior modification is in their DNA. They have the RQ and wish to maintain it so that they may influence crowds.
Recall that only a small proportion of Americans actually actively fought in the American Revolution and turned a nation. Recall also that Communist Parties control vast swathes of populations with a much smaller number of sworn members. Think too of union thuggery whereby smartly placed individuals in a crowd looks like public populism. Or "astroturfing," an Obama-Axelrod specialty, whereby "grassroots activism" invades the public square.
This is all about activist-controlled crowds with, currently, Socialists, Marxists, and Communists strutting in front of the camera while academics and ideologues place them. This clown posse is acting boldly to give the appearance of strength and to move public opinion. Now, the clown posse does have actual power right now, but they're losing it and will lose more... soon. How much they'll lose depends on how well they convince the voters that they represent the common man. So, sure, part of this is pandering to gin up the base (which isn't an insignificant voting bloc), but it's more than that. They're agitating to move crowds and hoping to convince more that the America we love is the one we should hate. To us, that seems offensive and counter-productive. To the ideologues, Communists, Progressives, and Cloward-Pivens, it's a strategy.

So the president of one of the biggest shithole countries comes and stands in my house and tells me how bad we are when we've done more for his nation than any other country. His country contributes nothing to our nation except problems. And I had the expectation that even though they are dems they would stand up for our own country even though we have disagreements. Well Fuck Philipe and Fuck the Dems. What a sad day for America, when our own leaders won't defend it or uphold the law. Scumbags.

saying "we were told that TARP would work, just like the stimulus plan and it didn't work. We were told the massive deficit spending with programs to re distribute the wealth and help the middle class didn't work either"...

151 Ok, an increase in legal immigration...and under terms whereby the immigrants coming in are not a welfare, criminal, or security risk to our country. How's that?
I suppose that's being racist, huh?

You're missing a pretty important step there, lackwit. I wonder if you can figure out what it is.
Here's a hint, shit-for-brains: what's the point of legally immigrating if entering illegally has no downside?

Close every Mexican consulate, send the ambassador home, recall our Ambassador, and declare Señiorita Calderone persona-non-grata. The only Mexican officials here should be two guys to go to the UN.
Fuck Mexico, third world shithole. You'd be safer in Afganistan, it'd smell better too.

And the sumbitch of it is, that strategy works! The only antidote is if the target group is well-educated enough to realize that the Dem strategy (promise and deliver taxpayer-funded "freebies" to all their constituent groups) must inevitably end in national bankruptcy.
And of course neither target group has a tenth of the education needed to expose that particular inevitability. And no, I did NOT say they ain't smart enough--lack of intelligence isn't the problem, it's lack of *education*.

It won't work. Americans (or enough of them at least) are too independent and stubborn-minded.
Frankly, I don't give a shit what the GOP does or does not do till November. We still flip all the blue dog districts.

Yes, I think your psych-warfare nutshell is right. I also think most Americans are independent and stubborn-minded. The question always remains, "Will enough go out on election day to make that stubborness show?" That's really what it boils down to and where the battle is. What we have to realize, and what makes this somewhat unique in recent generations, is that the battlefield has changed so much that overt socialism is being paraded in front of us in some displays while much of the actual legislation furthering it still continues to be hidden. Hiding the real policy is a given coming from subversives. What isn't is the boldness component of its advocates and so much so that they're comfortable damning the country and its citizens.
I've been trying to understand why the Democrat Party is behaving the way it is, and this well-placed, Marxist minority controlling crowds a la Communism is the best explanation I can muster given the context of the times. It's not that I know if it will or will not be successful, but just that it is a strategy and it is not misinformed rubes merely falling into bad decisions. These people are actually evil and not stupid.
And thanks for reading/commenting on the thesis. Walls of text do get weary.

Dionicio Rios, age 25. See his pic at http://savannahnow.com
Now I sure as hell don't want to be accused of anything so heinous as (gasp!) racial profiling, but after looking at his pic I'll bet a hundred bucks the guy is an illegal.
Now to the corrective action: City needs to change its bail *procedures* (not a law, so very little weird political bullshit needed to make the change) so that bail for anyone charged with a crime more serious than [whatever] who can't prove American citizenship will be no less than $250,000. Reason is obvious: Non-citizens are a huge and obvious flight risk.

Arizona has five out of its eight representatives that are Democrat. (I know, I can't believe that either)
I want to know if any of them joined the standing O.
They should all be asked:
Ann Kirkpatrick, Harry Mitchell, Gabrielle Giffords, Raul Grijalva, Ed Pastor
